The emotional display that all of these poems show is magical! The imagery had me feeling like I was witnessing the events as they were told. The darkness felt heavy and the tone was portrayed brilliantly! I'm fascinated by this book of poetry.

I loved Shanan's first collection, but Pretty Marrow amazingly advances past it, even the poems it shares with The Red Riding Hood Paper have been woven into a tighter whole. I'm have been very lucky to be her student, and impatiently await her next collection.

Shanan tears your heart out, but then you thank her for it. Buy this book!
