WOWHolyCrapOhMyGoodness. This is my first read from Ms. Huchton and... wow is about all I can coherently form right now. What incredible characters! Even the characters she wanted you to hate, you felt you knew and wanted to feel sorry for because of how beautifully described they were. The tension between characters and scenes in the book really drew me in. By the end of the second chapter, there was no way I was going to NOT finish the book. I was too engrossed in the world Ms. Huchton built f ...more

Freaking fantastic.
I read this book in ONE DAY -- all grabby hands and holy crap is it really 2am?? -- and now I must feverishly stalk both this author and the Evolution series. For all readers who like a little sexy with their hero, this is the book for you.
Fully endorse and recommend this book for readers 17+, for some steamy bow-chicka-wow-wow stuff.

First Thoughts: I had been hearing rumors of a series that Starla was working on that was full of superheroes… and I will be honest, when she asked if I wanted to read them I may have squealed and celebrated just a little (ok maybe I fangirled like a teenager) but I just HAD to read them! I have had the super amazing opportunity to read all three books already but this will totally be a non spoilery review I promise!
The Story: OMG this storyline just hooks you, it is so different from everythin

Holy Genetic Superheroes, Batman!! I have been waiting for a book like this! A comic book - loving girl whose dreams come true as she’s chosen to be genetically engineered into a superhero! Yowza!! Candace is perfect for the job. She’s motivated and has a great attitude. Plus she’s very determined not to let any guy get in the way of her success. Yeah, we all know how that usually works out. Especially when you’re surrounded by guys and stuck in a training facility. Trust me, there’s a hottie fo ...more

*I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.*

As someone who likes some originality in my books, I was pretty sure that this one would deliver. It promised superheroes, an interesting main character, and lots of action. Luckily for me, I got that originality, along with an intriguing story.

Candace was one of the coolest female leads. She was one of those girls I’d love to be friends with. She had attitude, compassion, and was quick to tell people what she thought. I really liked her,

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Right from the introduction I was swept up and happily dragged along for the ride with Candice our main character as she gets the chance to live out her dream of being a super powered member of the ANGEL program.

I actually didn't pay attention to what genre this story was (and I usually don’t) and for some reason had it in my head this was a Young Adult title. Yeah it’s not. Things took an unexpectedly "adult" turn. And while there

I can't even! I wish I'd written up a review right after I read this book (brag alert: I've read the whole series!!) because I could have said SO many things about it. Now, four months later I can only say GAH!!!

Starla has written a superhero book for the masses. Littered with just enough sci-fi love to please the nerd readers and enough loving to please romance fans, E:A is amazing! The characters are well balanced and fun, the boys sexy, the plot fast paced, fun AND different.

I highly recommen

Wow. To be honest, for most of the time, like 70 or 80%, it seemed like it would end up as a 2-star book. It really did. But then that last 30-20%... Wow. It was so heartbreaking and terrifying and I was glued to the pages every single word. And then it ended... Sigh. Why do books have endings again?

Even the second time through I was riveted with the story. Learning with Candace about her powers, each step of the way as the stakes grow with responsibility with a power this strong. Water. Who would have thought water ability could be this strong and powerful? Then the romance! Sexy superheroes! Ga!

Fast action, humor, story, and love! All in one place!

Hi, my name is Allura and I am a Huchton fangirl. I was ECSTATIC when I saw on twitter that Huchton was writing a superhero romance! I LOVE her Endure Series so much so I was dying to get my hands on this book. I was in no way, shape, or form disappointed. I devoured Evolution: ANGEL and loved every second of it.

There are so many things I enjoy and treasure about Huchton's books, her characters, her stories, and al

The Book:

Like many of us, Candace Bristol grew up reading comic books and dreaming of becoming a super hero. Unlike most of us, her dream is about to become a reality. Accepted into the government’s AdvaNced Genetic EvoLution (ANGEL) Project, 18-year-old Candace can’t believe her good luck. But is being a super as wonderful or as simple as she expects it to be?

What I Liked:

Full disclosure: this is the first time I’ve ever read what can be classified a ‘romance’ novel. As a result I’m full to bur

In the past few years, I have read more books than I can count. Because of that, I find it really hard to find a book that's different from the rest. Originality is something that I have been looking for in books lately and I found it Evolution:ANGEL.

Candace became one of my favorite female characters. She is one of the most kickass heroines I have read in a very long time. She doesn't back down from anything and is pretty fierce. She

First off, the main character's name is Candace (spelled correctly) so hello! of course I immediately loved her, but as it turns out she also sounds a lot like me, well at least in attitude as she is way smarter, and she reacts similar to how I do so I connected with this character in a big, big way. Secondly, it is a S.A. Huchton book, and I LOVE her books! I was not let down! This book was even more than I had expected I only had one problem with it, and it seems to be my problem with most of ...more

Evolution: ANGEL is a high-action, fast-paced ride through an intriguing world of genetically created superheroes. I read this book today while I was sitting in the Central Jury Room, waiting hour upon hour to be called into a courtroom. This book was a Godsend! I swear reading this novel made the time fly by. When I finished, I almost cried. I couldn't believe it was over and was desperate for more.

This book was recommended to me by my soul twin, Christy Lynn Foster. I love anything about superheros and adding romance to the mix makes me one happy camper. This wasn’t your usual cookie cutter romance either. I would say is was more 70% story and 30% romance. Candace has been wanting to be an ANGEL for her whole high school career. Her cousin Gabe was accepted the year prior and she was anxiously awaiting her acceptance. ANGELS, or AdvaNced Genetic EvoLution, are people that have been geneti ...more

This is the Sci-Fi book I have been waiting for. Evolution: Angel is the first book in the Evolution series and it is SPECTACULAR!

OH MY GOSH GUYS! READ THIS BOOK!

More coherently: I’m kind of a superhero freak. I also absolutely adored the other books Starla’s written. So when she announced she was writing a super series, I completely fangirled! I had trouble sleeping one night, so around 10pm I started Evolution Angel. At 3am I had finished it and was hurriedly opening the next book in the series. OMGee people! This may be my new favorite in Sci-Fi. I could NOT put it down!
It's exactly as you would imagine having gifts like these would be. Not what you expect, and harder yet more glorious than you could imagine.
Candace is not the normal heroine. She doesn't need saving, she is the strong one, she is the one who leads by example. I love

This book was a refreshing read. The characters growth and development throughout the book was fun and kept me reading till the end. It had some great twists and turns as I kept thinking I know whats going to happen, and was greatly surprised that I was wrong. This book was free and thought why not, very glad I did. I would have paid to read it. Looking forward to the next book. Kind of sad its not out yet I was ready to pay to read it. : ) Thinking Maybe I should look at other books this author ...more

This didn't feel like 400 pages -- the book SPED by! I wasn't sure what to expect when I grabbed this first book in the EVOLUTION series, but I was pretty much immediately sucked in! The superhero aspect was really interesting, and the characters were well-drawn. Some of the secondary characters had a LOT of presence, and I look forward to seeing more of them as the series progresses -- particularly Jackson and Gabe.

Amazing!
I read the entire thing in one sitting and I need the next one RIGHT. NOW.
The premise is amazing- genetically engineered superheroes? UM- YES please! I LOVED Candace and her hilarious attitude. I laughed, I cried... There was a little more sex than I anticipated, but definitely not overly graphic or anything.
OK seriously though- I need the next one. Like, yesterday.
