Ty Burdin is back. Back to drinking and back to avoiding demons. He is, of course, the leading expert in his field. In both subjects.

That’s probably why, when a customer offers him way too much money just to locate a missing car and some mysterious cargo, he readily agrees. The dude is human after all—Ty’s prime target client base.

Along with the money comes a slew of dis

Once again Ty Burdin has me wrapped up and unable to close the book on his badass, smart witted, completely endearing nature. There is something so basic and pure about the way Alexander Nader breathes life into this character that it almost takes me back a step, and make me pause while I'm reading, just to take in what Ty has said. The simple, yet eloquent, while being utterly sarcastic, and also funny, way Nader portrays Ty is a skill I have yet to see done in the way Nader does it and makes t ...more

Ty Burdin is in a very bad place. It is quite obvious he is burned out and just wants to quietly drink himself into an early grave. He is basically a straight shooter who has been repeatedly lied to and taken advantage of by his (former) employer. Ty is disillusioned – fed up with killing monsters for an ungrateful agency that has never played fair. In fact, in Ty’s experience , some of the worse demons are the deceitful humans who somehow trick him into doing their dirty work. He is having none ...more

Quickie review:

Ty Burdin is back in this sequel to Beasts of Burdin. Whilst a little of his snark and quick-comeback-wit is less prominent through most of this book, his somber mood and personal issues he's dealing with give a very good reason for that. I will say, though, that his wit does slowly begin to reappear the closer to the end we get.

But fear not, because where Ty's snark is hiding, Nora's is stepping up to the plate and providing impressive swings of the bat in its place. I loved Nor

This is such a fantastic series! Ty Burdin is just bad ass. Plus he sometimes has no filter and I love his craziness. At the end of book one, I couldn't wait to get my hands on book two. I had high expectations and I was not disappointed. Ty has a lot more personal demons to deal with this time.

I am still so glad that I read the first book, because I see the changes in Ty from the beginning of the first book. And yes, his great sarcastic ass self is a little more on the back burner than in the

Ty’s stubborn determination to turn his back on demons, this time around, was good news/bad news for me as a reader. On the one hand, there was the off-color entertainment of Ty repeatedly letting everyone around him know just how far down under the Agency could stick their agenda, as far as he cared. But on the other, his avoidance of anything that even smelled of demon amounted to him avoiding much buildup of a plot. It took most of the book before there was any real edge-of-your-seat action o ...more

Alex lives in the tourist infested hills of east Tennessee with his amazing wife/muse and three superb children. He would tell you more about how awesome they are, but you probably wouldn’t believe him. When he’s not hanging out with them he’s making pizzas. When he’s not doing that he’s working at a bookstore and occasionally he jots a few words down. He’s a big fan of good music, good storytelli ...more
