A Broken Bloodlines Origin story and a prequel to the Broken Bloodlines trilogy.
Axl's story.
Welcome to Georgian England, circa 1800.
Alastair Thorne is a cad and a rake. Even his mother told him so. Pity for her that he cannot bring himself to care, for he relishes his life of debauchery and licentiousness, and is content thinking of no-one but himself.
Except Alastair may have just messed with the wrong fair maiden, and his life is about to be cut violently short. That is until he comes face to face with the enigmatic stranger who's been watching him from afar.
Alexandros Drakos sees something in the young scoundrel that intrigues him. And so he makes him an offer he is sure he cannot refuse.
I'm a bestselling author of dark mafia, billionaire, and paranormal romance. I love to read and write about hot, filthy talking alphas that would burn the world down for the women they love.
I love chatting to readers about my books, or books in general, so please get in touch! You can follow me on Facebook and instagram as well as on here as Sadie Kincaid Author.
Although this is a fairly short introduction to the series it is very hot like sizzling hot and if you love vampires hey this is for you and two more books to go with it ENJOY!!!
Almost a year later and I'm reminded why I was put off from reading book 3 of the series. This was a perfect example of men only showing respect to a woman they are attracted to or in a relationship with. It is so disheartening for me to read this and think I swooned over how these two worshiped Ophelia. And it makes me wonder if everything we knew about the professor's overall character was a lie. And therefore (spoiler alert) his "death" at the end of book 2 didn't hurt as much. Because the professor actually is kind of an asshole.
December 17, 2024 Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
This was a spicy novella, that I felt sad when it was over, because I was reminded that I have to wait until March to get more of new favorite vampires.
I have a lot of feelings (some good, and some bad lol) about this novella. I'm glad we got a glimpse into Alx's transformation and life prior to the current story. But I needed more. This was definitely just a taste of what I know is an epic story. Hopefully we will get novellas Xavier and Malachi as well. I just know once the three of them are together the spice level will be turned up to 100!
Sadie Kincaid you my friend are a super freak (respectfully of course) and please never change. Your books never fail to make me blush, fan myself and crave the next one.
March seems like a lifetime away 😭. But Drake's story is only a month away. And I'm eagerly awaiting both.
This definitely sold me on the series! I feel like I would’ve enjoyed it more had I read in publication order but I still liked it and can’t wait to continue!
I have been obsessing over the cast for these audiobooks since the very beginning, but Sean Masters and Joe Arden solidified my obsession even more in this origin story novella. Sadie Kincaid gives us the perfect glimpse into life before Montridge for Axl.
Born in Blood by Sadie Kincaid is part of the Broken Bloodlines story. While technically labeled as book 0.5, it is best enjoyed after Forged in Blood and Promised in Blood. Performed in duet narration by Sean Masters and Joe Arden featuring Maxine Mitchell. Produced by Blue Nose Audio.
This is an unexpected read that took me by surprise. It was my first vampire read and I loved every second of it! Dark, spicy, and I loved the twisted side of this! I will be continuing this series!
I have been waiting so long to start this series and so far it hasn’t disappointed with this prologue. The origin story of how Axel was born 🫡 let’s goo
I liked the thought behind the 2 books (ive read) so far but I absolutely can not stand the fmc. She's such a crybaby and shes annoying af. The author tried to write the fmc as being naive and young but all they accomplished writing her was making her seem so immature and softest character whos so so fragile and cant deal with hard shiit. Like if your going to write a foster kid give them a bit of a hardness because theres no way in hell someone as soft as our fmc would make it through the system without some backbone. Idk I just cant stand her and im only 12% in to the second book. If she doesnt grow in character i wont be able to rate the trilogy higher than a 2 star.
I think ill be putting this book trilogy on the back burner after getting to 20% in the second book. Its just dragging for me, so i went snooping here and from what I gather in the reviews is its not gonna get better. So im gonna just leave it here and maybe ill come back but maybe not. Im going to label the first and second books as 2s and leave the 3rd blank until I read it (if i do).
I was so excited for this prequel. I immediately downloaded to kindle once available and was immediately surprised by the 58 page novella. This felt so rushed, and more like it should have been two chapters from a different book. I ate up the first two in the series, but this fell flat for me. Also why did AXL’s parents hate him so much? I was hoping as a prequel that we would get answers to questions about his character but I was left with little answers, and more questions.
It's was a quick and spicy novella. But as I loved Axl from the beginning it was interesting to see where it all started for him. And how different the relationship was between Axl and Alexandros in the beginning. I hope we can read all the other guys books too to see where it all starts from. I'm very intrigued. I am really looking forward to the last book coming out so this was a great addition to keep me going.
Where should I start? This novella, was this a storyline that we just needed — a story we all wondered about, something to add to the conversation? Nah. Not really, BUT did I ✨ gladly ✨ eat this up? YUP. Yes, Mrs. Kincaid, I did. 🫠☺️
Although, if we’re pitching novellas? I NEED Alexandros’ origin story. 🫣🥰
4✨, for what it is. As always, audiobook this, babes. 👌🏽🤷🏽♀️😉
Just a little novella from Sadie. I woke up and read these 50 pages before downloading the final book I this series. I couldn’t have timed the reading of this series any better. So this book was all about Axl. Loved getting to see a little bit more of his back story. Why does my gut say he’s going to play a bigger role in book 3?!?
3.5 stars. Born in Blood is a prequel/origin novella for the Broken Bloodlines series by Sadie Kincaid. This is an origin story for Axl. It takes place in the 1800s so it doesn’t include the FMC/other characters in the Broken Bloodlines. This was just a fun, short, spicy, vampire turning novella. Audiobook is on hoopla.
I really enjoyed Born in Blood! This short story was such a fun and engaging way to learn more about Axl’s backstory. It added depth to his character and made me appreciate him even more in the main series. I loved how it gave insight into his past while keeping the pace fast and exciting. The ending was adventurous and left me eager to dive into the rest of the series. A great addition that fans won’t want to skip!
expected something more epic - a grand start to these two - instead seems like a few chapters that were an add on…that don’t move the story a long one or the other…
Very, very short little tid bit about how axl came to be. I liked having this info. But idk that it needed to be a book. But it could have been added to one of the other books.
Either way , I truly love this series, and I can not wait until the next book comes out.
I love the full series, and I was very excited for this origin story. However, it fell very flat and seemed rushed. I wish the story was more developed by giving more depth to Axl’s human life and his reaction/relationship with Alexandros.
I love the Broken Bloodlines series and Born in Blood is no exception. This novella focuses on Axl’s origin story, of how he became a vampire. Dark, spicy and wonderfully written.
This audiobook is performed in multicast duet by Joe Arden, Sean Masters and Maxine Mitchell. Exceptional performances by all.
When your name is rarely a character name in a book and then you find it in this spicy prequel to the Broken Bloodlines series that you’re obsessed with. So you add the audible to hear Axl and Alexandros say your name. Melted!
That was hot asf. Joe Arden’s voice does something to me I swear! Anyway… that was a really good 0.5 and I can wait to see in how the story evolves later on.
