Great read!

Alex gets more than he bargains for when he is called out on a rescue! To start with, the phone call to the rescue centre raises red flags with the team but when Alex finally finds Chantelle, he feels he may have found his future.
Chantelle is confused when she wakes in Alex’s house but she needs off this mountain asap! Both her and Alex are harbouring secrets, what happens when they come to light?!

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Alex and Chantelle met when he gets called about a girl who was hiking and hasn't come back. Alex takes his jeep to cut into the trail while the other rescuers start at the base. Alex is walking calling Chantelle's name, when he gets to an area where hikers like to take selfies, he looks over the side but doesn't see anyone. When Alex turns around he sees blood, but he's not sure if it's animal or human. Alex then hears a soft moan, as he sweeps his flashlight he finds her. Chantelle is huddled in between the boulders, her knees are scraped and she's hugging her chest. When Alex asks her if she's Chantelle she tells him yes. Alex asks her if she's injured, Chantelle tells him her ankle, she thinks it's sprained. When Alex's radio crackles asking if he had any luck, Alex tells them he found Chantelle. Alex calls over the radio that he's going to take her to his place because it's closer. Alex then carries Chantelle, back to his place. When Chantelle wakes up she's in a strange room, then she hears someone asks her if she's awake. When Chantelle asks where she is Alex tells her she's at his cabin. When Chantelle asks where her clothes are because she realizes she's not in her t-shirt, Alex tells her his housekeeper, Miriam changed her. Alex tells her he has chicken soup for her to eat, but he doesn't want her to move much so he feeds her. Alex tells Chantelle that the park ranger and sheriff will be there soon and going to asks her some questions. Chantelle tries to come up with a story to tell them what happened she needs to find her brother. While Chantelle is talking to Symon is the head ranger and Calvin is Sheriff Reid, Alex stays to hear what happened. Alex soon realizes that Chantelle is lying, he want find out why. Alex tells Symon and Calvin that's enough when he sees Chantelle is stressed. They want to take her to the Medical Center but Alex tells them he has a doctor on the way. They asks Chantelle if she wants to call someone but she doesn't have anyone to call. Chantelle asks if she can stay the night, Alex tells her she can stay as long as she needs. Alex walks the two men out and tells them he can have a guest in his house, he's not going to take advantage of her. They tell Alex to watch his back until they find out what happened. Early the next day Chantelle wakes up to try and leave but she realizes she won't get far on her ankle. When Chantelle heads downstairs to leave Alex grabs her to stop her from falling. Alex tells her she should be resting, Chantelle tells him she needs to leave. Alex tells her if there's somewhere she needs to go he can take her. Alex picks her up and carries her back to her bed, then she kisses him. Later there's a knock on the door and when Chantelle sits up she finds Alex's housekeeper, Miriam. Miriam tells Chantelle that Alex asked her to make sure she was comfortable for the day. Chantelle asks where Alex is, and Miriam tells her that he had to leave. Miriam brings Chantelle breakfast and tells her she'll be back to help her shower and dress. Miriam brings some clothes that Alex bought for Chantelle, she tells the housekeeper she can't afford those. When Chantelle is ready Miriam tells her she was instructed not to let her go far, but she can go to the library and the game room. Chantelle goes to the library, and can't believe her eyes. Chantelle asks Miriam if she shows many people this room, she tells her no, Alex is a private man. When Chantelle asks who Alex is, Miriam asks her if she really doesn't know. Chantelle asks her if she should, Miriam tells her maybe it's better if she didn't know. Alex asks around if they found anything on the man who called it in for Chantelle. When Alex doesn't get far because they can't hand that information out, he distract them. Alex sneaks in to the comms room he brings up the recording from yesterday and writes down the information. After Alex leaves he does a little digging to find out the phone number the caller called from is registered to Chantelle Deeny. Alex heads back home, and finds Chantelle has fallen asleep in the library. Alex covers her up but then Chantelle wakes up, she asks him when can she leave, Alex tells her anytime. Chantelle asks him if she can just walk out, Alex tells her no not on her ankle, Chantelle tells him then she can't leave. Chantelle heads downstairs for dinner, Alex offers her a glass of wine but she tells him she doesn't drink. As they eat Alex asks her about the clothes, Chantelle tells him she'll find a way to pay him back. Alex tells her not to worry about it, Chantelle asks him what does he do. Alex tells her he's in the tech business. The spend the evening talking about everything and nothing. As Alex helps clear the dishes Chantelle knows she needs to leave to find her brother, Chris. When Chantelle dozes off Alex carries her to her room, when he lays her on her bed, she pulls him down with her. Chantelle tells him to kiss her, Alex asks her if she's ready for this. Chantelle tells him yes, then Alex's phone rings, after he hangs up he tells her that he shouldn't have done that. Alex tells her she's here to heel and he doesn't want to take advantage of her. Alex tells her he has to deal with a work issue and she needs to get some rest. The next day Chantelle knows she needs to leave and find her brother, Chris. After breakfast Chantelle goes looking to find out who Alex really is. When she goes into the game room she finds some old magazines, she finds Alex with other woman on his arm. After she puts the magazines away she goes to the shelf and finds an award and realizes who Alex is. Chantelle realizes that Alex could have his pick of woman so why does he want her. Chantelle knows she needs to leave, but something catches her eye before she leaves. It's a miniature old statue, she knows it's worth a lot, she needs the money to help her brother and her. When Chantelle leaves the room she runs right into Alex and he wants to know why she's not resting. Chantelle tells him she got bored, she's not use to being cooped up. Alex takes her to his game room and asks her if she likes games. Chantelle tells him she use to play with her brother, so they play the rest of the day. As they sit and drink hot chocolate, Alex notices her dressing needs to be changed. Alex changes the bandage, but doesn't drop her foot. Alex slowly moves his fingers up her calf, he tells her he's been thinking about her all day. Alex pulls her to him and kisses her, and tells her she's his. Chantelle tells him she's a virgin, but she wants him to be her first. Alex tells her he'll take care of her now and forever. Alex pulls off her clothes, then pleasures her. Chantelle tells him she wants him, Alex tells her he wants her too, in his bed every night for the rest of their lives. They make love, afterwards they lay together, wrapped protectively together. When Chantelle wakes the next morning she realizes she's fallen for Alex in only the few days she's been there. Alex wakes and offers to make her breakfast, since it's Miriam day off. Chantelle takes a shower, she takes her time knowing this will be the last hot shower she'll have for a while. When Alex asks her what she wants to do today his phone rings, he finds out there was an avalanche up the mountain,, he needs to be there. Alex tells Chantelle to help herself to anything and rest up he'll be back as soon as he can. Chantelle tells him to be careful, then Alex is gone. When Alex gets back to his cabin, when his attention caught by the side gate open. Then Alex notices his garage door is wide open, then he notices an empty space where his scooter is usually parked. Alex races upstairs calling for Chantelle but he's met with silence. The cabinets, empty, his stomach turns, then he sees a handwritten note. Alex finds out she knew who he was all along, he thought she didn't who he was. Alex knows Chantelle is different, he needs to find her. Several minutes later, he pulls up to the train station, he finds his scooter, with the helmet and keys. The man at the ticket offices gives Alex a list of trains that left and Chantelle could have been on any of them. Alex looks over the list and hopes they have surveillance camera at the other stations, he needs to find Chantelle. Two weeks later, Chantelle tiptoes across the floor, avoiding debris, dodging bodies and plastic bags. Chantelle's brother Chris groans and she makes her way back to him, it took her two days to find him. When she took her brother Chris to go walking he had been clean for two weeks, he was waiting for the opportunity to jump her. Chantelle's sprained ankle wasn't his fault, she did that when she lunged after him. Chantelle promised her mother she would look after her brother before she passed, he's the only family she has left. Chantelle hasn't been able to bring herself to pawn the golden statue. Chantelle's brother is registered for state rehab again, but he's never made it to the second tier. When Chantelle hears shuffling of feet by the door, a man stands and it looks like Alex. When Alex calls her name she asks him what he's doing there. Alex walks over to her, he points to her brother and asks her if this is Chris. Alex tells her he had to find her, but realization hits Chantelle she knows he's here for the gold statue. When Chantelle hands it back to him she tells him she's sorry she took it she was desperate. Chantelle ask him why he's here. Alex tells her he's here for her. Alex asked her why she didn't tell him, Chantelle asked him what she was supposed to tell him that she's homeless and has an addictive brother. Alex tells her he could help, Chantelle House him she doesn't need his pity. Alex tells her he loves her, he wants to love her and take care of her. Chantelle asks him how could he love her, Alex tells her when he saw her he knew she was his. Alex tells her she belongs with him, Chantelle tells him she belongs with Christ, he's her only family she has. Alex tells her, her family is his family now, he has resources available, he'll get the treatment he needs. Alex tells her he already booked Chris into a private rehab center in the mountains. Chantelle asks him if he'd do that for him, Alex tells her he'll do it for her. Alex tells her he's established a trust to help tackle the drug epidemic in North Carolina, and he needs some help if she wants to help him. Chantelle asks him if he's offering her a job, Alex tells her he's offering her anything she wants, and a chance to help. At one time Chantelle thought about going to college to be an adolescent psychologist. Alex pull her to him and tells her anything she want, Chantelle realizes the only thing she really wants is to be with him, because when she is everything else is possible. One year later, Chantelle has her first round of finals tomorrow. After that they'll go visit her brother Chris. Who's been clean for six months and lives on the side of the mountain and works for the Best Life Foundation. Chris still has a long road, but he's got treatment he needed and counseling too. Chris started to study to be a counsellor, too. Alex and Chantelle found out a few weeks ago she was pregnant. Chantelle never knew life could be like this to be safe and belong. Alex is her rock, her safe space, she loves him for that. Alex will always be her mountain rescuer.

Chantelle is lost and injured while on a hike on Wild Heart Mountain, Alex a secret tech billionaire who now works for mountain search and rescue comes to save her and instantly falls in love. He breaks protocol and instead of taking her to HQ or the hospital he takes her to his house/mansion.
She’s attracted to him but is keeping a secret, when the police show up to find out what happened to her she is very sketchy on the details. Alex knows she’s hiding something but he too is hiding a secret, so he takes her side and gets the police to leave.
They spend some time together and he takes good care of her sprained ankle. She’s recovering and feeling safe with him but knows she has to get back to town. Bored one afternoon she snoops and finds old gossip magazines with Alex on the cover nicknamed Playboy of the Valley. She feels jealous of the women he was with. She also sees a solid gold little owl statue, knowing it would help her she takes it thinking he would never miss it. Alex finds her hobbling around and asks why she not resting. She says she was bored so he plays video games with her and that leads to sexy times for them. The next morning Alex is called away for a rescue and Chantelle decides it’s time to leave, she wonders what Alex would want with a curvy girl who is down on her luck, he’s a playboy, he’ll just find someone else. She again steals from him, she takes a scooter and heads to the bus station.
When Alex comes home he finds her gone, she left just a note thanking him for taking care of her and giving her a night with the Playboy of the Valley.
He’s heartbroken, he had thought she was different. He was so tired of the stupid label the magazines had given him, he was never really that guy and he definitely wasn’t that guy now, ten years later.
He heads to the bus station, finds his scooter but no sign of Chantelle. A few weeks later he finds her in an old abandoned house where she’s trying to find her brother. He’s an addict, he’s also the one who cased her accident on the mountain and stole her belongings. She’s sad and happy to see him, she thinks he came for the owl statute, she still has it, she couldn’t sell it.
Alex tells her he loves her and will help her brother get clean.
Epilogue one year later she’s pregnant and her brother has been sober 6 months.

Alex and Chantelle’s Story . . .

After a harried search for a missing child who was finally discovered sitting in his parents’ car and waiting to go home, billionaire Alex was tired. Alex is one of the volunteers at Wild Heart Mountain Search and Rescue, and the others were heading out for a beer together while he just wanted the solitude of his cabin – except that he was the one on call now. An incoming call announced a possible missing hiker. It was getting dark outside and Alex knew the temperature would quickly drop as the sun set. But Suzie, who took the call, says the caller was somehow evasive, so she wasn’t sure if it was a prank call or real. Playing the call back, Alex heard a man say a girl on the…Mid Peak trail…um…hasn’t come back. Suzie kept questioning him and he said the girl, 21 or 22-year-old Chantelle, might be hurt. Whether it is a hoax or not, the rescuers hurried out to search for her.

Alex made lots of noise to scare off possible bears and kept calling out her name. His flashlight shows blood on the side of a small boulder and he almost misses the soft moan. She is dehydrated, sprained ankle, scraped, and dirty, but she is still alive and conscious. He immediately feels protective of her. (I tried to ignore his absurdly ridiculous thoughts about what he wanted to do with her, everything except rescue – but his pressing thought that “This woman is mine; I found her; I’m keeping her!” made me want to stop reading. Seriously, I hope that is not what a true rescuer would be thinking!) So instead of taking her to the medical center, he takes her home with him. Even his team thought that was unusual, but Symon added that he would send the Sheriff to Alex’s cabin to ask her what happened!

Chantelle woke up in a strange bed and Alex had bandaged her arm and fed her some soup. He told her the Park Ranger and the Sheriff were coming to ask some questions, and he saw the panic on her face. What doesn’t she want them to know? What is she hiding from Alex? And will he share his own secrets with her if she decides to stay?

Alex volunteers for the rescue team. So when he gets a call to help a distressed person he is the one to go. He spots the injured hiker but doesn't want to take her to the hospital, he takes her to his cabin. He will mend the beautiful woman back to health.
Chantelle can't believe that her brother left her there injured. The man who rescued her is handsome. She can't stay because she needs to find her brother. She also can't walk as she hurt her ankle. She was in his cabin but its more like a mansion. Chantelle is there a couple of days to heal her ankle and then will go look foe her brother.
Alex and Chantelle have a moment together and it changes things for her but she still needs to find her brother. Once she can walk she goes after him but Alex is none to happy and tracks her down.
Both have been hiding secrets from each other. She's been hiding her brother who needs help with his drug addiction and he has been hiding the fact that he is actually extremely rich. The reason he did that is because he wanted to find someone that wanted him for him and not his money. Chantelle was happy she found her brother and was able to get her brother the help he needed.
Chantelle was happy with Alex, whether he had money or not. She loved him for his thoughtfulness and being just a genuine person.
They both found each other that day on the mountain.

Sadie King has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Chantelle and Alex. Alex works for Wild Heart Mountain Rescue and just came in from a call. While they are all talking, Suzie calls over the radio and says there is another call for a missing girl. She tells them that it could be a hoax. He wants to know why she thinks that. She says he would have to listen to the call. He listened to the call and said that he would take it. He takes the Jeep to the start of the trail and starts calling out. He is ready to turn around when he hears the moan. Alex finds Chantelle and thinks that she is his and decides to take her to his cabin instead of letting her go to the hospital. Once he gets her back to his cabin, he gets her set up with some ice for her ankle. Chantelle is worried about her brother Chris. Alex tries to get her to tell him what happened but she doesn't tell him. She tries to leave the next morning but she can't walk on her ankle. It's a few days later and Alex gets a call and while he is out, Chantelle knows this is her only time to leave. When Alex comes home, he finds her gone. He looks for her and finds her with Chris. He tells her that she is his and he is going to help Chris get clean. He tells her that he wants her to come back home with him.
Will Chantelle give Alex the chance he wants?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

What I liked- I liked the characters. The author effectively conveyed Chantelle’s inner struggle and her determination in caring for family even after being hurt. And gotta love the Instalove.
What I didn’t- This book wasn’t my favorite. I’m not completely sure why, but I think it’s because of the secrets. thought that the secrets, particularly hers, were built up to more than they were, and finding them out was kind of a let down. I’m not crazy about manufactured drama. Either it was too built up, or there wasn’t enough suspense, but I was nonplussed.

What a delicious start to the series. Alex is a search and rescue volunteer for the Wild Heart Mountain team. He loves his mountain community and the people he works with even if he is keeping a large part of his life a secret from everyone. When they get a call about a missing woman on one of the mountain trails, Alex volunteers to go out. When he finds the woman, Chantelle, injured and barely conscious, the protective side of him comes out. So instead of taking her to the nearby hospital, he takes her to his cabin to have her treated there where he can watch over her. But Chantelle isn’t what she appears to be. She too is hiding something from the world. But what? Are these two perfect for one another or are they just the opposite of what each one needs to keep their own personal secrets safe from the world?

This is a quick, exciting read that will have you smiling and hoping for some type of happy ending. This reader fell in love with the mountain heroes and can’t wait for book 2 in the series.

My Mountain Man Rescuer is the first book in the Wild Heart Mountain: Mountain Heroes series and it is a winner. I completely loved this story as it has an older, protective, reclusive mountain man who has a secret that all the locals know but no one cares about, and a sweet, curvy, younger woman who will do anything for her only family. The meet when Alex rescues Chantelle after she is reported missing on a hiking trail, and he is part of the Search and Rescue team. But one look at the woman and he knows she is meant to be his, and he is not letting her go. So instead of taking her to the hospital to be looked at he takes her to his "cabin" and calls the doctor to make a house visit. Chantelle is keeping a secret that Alex is determined to find out, after all he needs to know if his little kitten needs to be protected from something that may be coming. But both are keeping secrets from the other as they tell half truths and share the best version of themselves. When the secrets are finally discovered will they still feel the same way about the other?

Chantelle has secrets. Alex has secrets. Alex is on a search and rescue team and gets a call about a possibly injured hiker. He finds an injured Chantelle and immediately decides to take her home and nurse her back to health with the hope that she won’t ever want to leave. But he needs to find out who she is, who injured her and why she is so anxious to run.
Chantelle is also drawn to Alex and has no idea who he is. His cabin is like a mansion. She has no idea who he is and why he would be interested in her even though she is interested in him. Chantelle is a bigger girl so that only piques her questions.
Even though they both have secrets that they hold close to their chests they cannot help but fall for each other. Chantelle and Alex are able to finally trust each other. This was an incredible book written by a fabulous author.
This book is a MUST read!.

I loved Alex and Chantelle's story. They both had things in their past they were trying to get away from. Chantelle was in a bad position because of her brother and she was ashamed to let Alex know what was going on. Alex had been taken advantage of in the past because of his successful business and wealth. But true love wins :) No spoilers, this was a great book!

3.5 🌟 rounded up

The scenic beauty in this novella was captured and conveyed beautifully in this text. Chantelle was trapped after falling while on a mountain trail, and Alex rescued her. They got to know eachother at his home while she recovered from her injury. I wasn't whole impressed with either of these characters, but they did stay true to their nature throughout (consistency is important). Yet, his businessman history and inability to follow through with what he knew to be the right course, and her immaturity of white-knuckleing a pertinent secret (along with building preconceptions) simply sat wrong with me.

It was really unfortunate, as I usually enjoy King's stories. Perhaps you will see something I didn't, or the issues that tripped me up will not bother you. Regardless, I hope this review helps in your selections. I did receive an ARC and voluntarily provide this review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚

Alex is part of the mountain rescue, and he goes out to search for Chantelle when they receive a call about her. As soon as he sees her Alex knows that she is the one for him. He carries her back to his cabin so he can treat her injuries himself. When the others come to question her about what happened and want to take her away Alex stops them by letting them know he has someone coming to look her over and then she will rest and recovery at his place. Chantelle has a secret and hasn't shared it with anyone because she doesn't want to get someone in trouble. However, Alex is already investigating into what happened top her and will soon now everything. Will she stay there where he can help her? What will he do once he learns who she is protecting?

This is a great story that will draw you in from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

We start off with Alex's team getting a odd call about a missing woman. He goes out on his own and finds Chantelle. It was straight insta-love for Alex. He took one look at her and knew she would be his forever. Chantelle has been through it and even though she's falling she needs to find her brother and take care of him. The plot of this story was quick and to the point but entertaining. I enjoyed this quick read and will definitely be picking up more by this author.

This was a fast paced read, and when I say fast, I mean it took me twenty-five minutes to read. This is the first of the series so we are introduced to a few side characters that you just know will get their own story soon. Alex is part of a mountain rescue team and when a call comes in about a girl that didn't come back from her hike, he goes to check it out. Upon finding Chantelle, who is a woman not a girl, Alex gets hit with the thoughts that she is his and takes her back to his cabin. No more info from me, as that would literally just tell you the whole rest of the book. I'm just gonna say I think the author missed an opportunity to make this a great story. What we do get is a bit of drama, a hot naughty bit, and a rushed ending. I give this 3. 5 stars.

This is the starting series by Sadie King- Wild Heart Mountain: Mountain Heroes. All I can say this is starting of a great series and I cant wait to read more. The story is about Alex and Chantelle.

Alex's job is search and rescue in the forest and before he goes home, the team getting an odd call about a missing woman. He goes out on his own and finds Chantelle. It was straight heads over heels in love for Alex. He took one look at her and knew she would be his forever. Instead of taking her back to the office, he took her to his cabin to take care of her.

Chantelle has been through a lot and needs to help her brother. She tries to keep her secrets under wrap but in time she does tell Alex everything. It all works out in the end and love all comes right for everyone especially her brother.

Alex is quiet, tends to keep to himself, and works for Search and Rescue. He has secrets and that’s the main reason he loves his solitude, but helping others is definitely his calling. On a call he meets Chantelle where he is instantly head over heels and wants to do everything he can to keep her safe and hopefully keep her as his. Chantelle is keeping something from him as he tries to get her healed and healthy and he hopes she will eventually wear down and let him know her secrets if only he would do the same. Alex has his work cut out for him in trying to get to know her better while not being overbearing, but will either one of them be willing to trust the other and let them in fully by giving up their secrets or will Chantelle run away the first chance she gets? This was a cute read that went by fast and was full of heat.

Alex is a volunteer for the Wild Heart Mountain Rescue Team. He has a cabin on the side of the mountain.

A weird call comes into the mountain rescue office. The man says that a young woman named Chantelle is out on the trail alone and is hurt. They are hoping it is not a hoax and they need to find Chantelle before it gets too dark.

Alex finds Chantelle stuck between two boulders near the trail. Her ankle is sprained and she has scrapes and bruises. She is also dehydrated. She has no backpack. She is also wearing short shorts and sneakers that are not made for hiking. Alex is instantly attracted to her. He decides to take her to his cabin which is close by. He wants to take care of Chantelle and find out what the true story is about why she is on the mountain alone.

They both have secrets. I was rooting for them to work things out between them.

He instantly falls for her and decides to break with protocol by taking her back to his home to recover from her injuries. Alex realizes that Chantelle is being cagey about what happened to her on the mountain, even as he struggles with his attraction to her. Chantelle is similarly drawn to Alex and soon realizes he has secrets of his own. Things heat up between Alex and Chantelle, and as much as it pains her to do so, she needs to get away as soon as she can. Hot and steamy mountain man, curvy girl quickie romance with a side of angst.

A fast-paced, entertaining, steamy and swoony read.

The power of addiction and family is a strange dynamic especially for those that choose to stay and offer love and support during the down spirals. Chantelle is one of those people and she will always stay by Chris’s side and help no matter what. She finds herself in a precarious position, hurt and alone on the side of the mountain. Alex is part of the rescue sent out to find her. As soon as he spots her, he knows she is his one and now makes it his mission to care and protect her. Even if its from herself. Alex is part of rescue on the mountain. He's been there for years hiding. He left behind a life he didn't want. One day after a search and rescue for a lost child who wasn't another call comes in. He goes searching for a young woman.
Chantelle went for a hike hoping it would help her brother who she has with her. But he hits her and runs. Alex finds her and at first glance knows she's his. Now he has to find out who she is and what she's hiding. She is antsy and worried about her brother then she finds out something about Alex and she runs. Will he go looking for her?
A beautiful story that will put the romantic in the story.

He does not expect the feelings that surge up when he finds her, she is his. Instead of taking her to the hospital he takes her back to his cabin.

Chantelle does not want the tell them what really happened. She needs to get out of her and find her brother. She promised her mother she would look out for him and she is not doing a good job. Alex makes her want to stay.

Both of them are keeping secrets from the other, will it damage what has started?.

My Mountain Man Rescuer is a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, forced proximity, curvy girl gets her secret billionaire mountain man romance. Alex is a hunky mountain man who volunteers for the Wild Heart Mountain Rescue team. He is also a billionaire but does not advertise it. Chantelle is a sweet, sassy, and curvy girl with a secret. When Alex finds her on the mountain, she is injured. He takes her back to his cabin to care for her. It's clear she is hiding something, but what? Will she let Alex in, and can he keep her safe? Will he let her in also? They had great chemistry, and after a little bit of angst, we got a very happy ending. This was a great, short, and spicy read.

Alex is part of the Search and Rescue team and he finds Chantelle hurt on the side of a cliff. The circumstances of how she got there is suspicious and Alex knows she’s hiding something. Chantelle is anxious to get back to her brother but she can’t help feeling protected and cared for by Alex. It’s been so long since someone has looked after her, that she finds herself falling for her mysterious rescuer. This was a great start to the new series. Alex and Chantelle have secrets they are hiding from the other and have reasons for not telling the other. Their connection is undeniable and instantaneous but both have to become brave enough to let the other in to their real lives. I received an arc copy of this book.

Alex works Wild Heart Mountain Search and Rescue; he is the one sent to search after a call is received of a lost girl on the mountain as it's getting dark. He seeks the girl and finds Chantelle injured among boulders. He thinks that she is 'mine'.
Chantelle says he was mugged. Alex believes that she's hiding something. He says that she is staying at his cabin "or cabin mansion", and the doctor is coming there. Her ankle is injured, and she needs time to heal. She tells him that she lost her mom a few years ago and that she has a younger brother.
Who is Alex really? Will Chantelle tell Alex about who may have caused her accident? Will they find love?.

Alex volunteers for the Wild Heart Search and Rescue. They get an unusual call where someone is injured but they don’t know who. Thinking it might be a hoax they still go search of the person. When Alex finds an injured Chantelle he realizes she is the one for him. Even though it is instalove for Alex he realizes that Chantelle is covering for someone. But Alex is also hiding something, he’s a billionaire tech guru. This is a wonderful story, fast read, steamy with a bit of intrigue with both hiding secrets. I really liked it.

Chantelle is hurt and alone on the mountain . The Mountain search and rescue team get a strange call about her. Alex a billionaire with a secret pass now volunteers with search and rescue. He is the one to find her and her an immediately determines that she is his. His to care for, his to protect. She is also hiding secrets ones he is determined to find out.
This is a great short read. Such a sweet story that proves everything is not as it appears. Expect OTT alpha male protector who always gets what he wants.
