Flynn never expected to fall for the girl next door when we went to help his neighbors with a plumbing issue. But he did.
The problem? Maddie just ended a relationship and quit her job because her boss harassed her so she’s in a “swore-of-man” phase. She wants Flynn, but she had enough problems with man.
So if Flynn wants her, he has a fight on his hands to get her. Fortunately, he’s a man who loves a challenge.

When Maddie Gardner's toad of a boss makes a pass at her, she decides to quit her job, arriving home to have a cathartic rant, what she doesn’t realise is that her friend/roommate Abbey is not the only one there, sexy, green-eyed Flynn McCauley is also there and he finds himself entranced by her fire/temper. Flynn McCauley never thought he'd fall for the girl next door, but when he goes over to fix a leaky sink and is witness to Maddie’s fiery temper well he’s a goner, initially h

The book was a fun read. I liked Flynn much more than I liked Maddie. She was too harsh and I found that a little offputting. I understand hesitancy, but that girl made him work way too hard and she was lucky he stood for it. I liked that he was really into her and she refused to see that he was serious and stable about her.

I liked the side characters, Abby was cute. She too has her own issues about things, neurotic came to mind even before she admitted it. It was a cute book with a lot of heat

“Sorry. You look a lot like someone I used to know.”
She nodded, no longer smiling. “Your brother’s wife. Your mother mentioned the resemblance. When Mike first saw me, he looked like he’d seen a ghost. I might have kept my distance because of that too.”

Abby had cute down to a science, and that resemblance to Lea which kind of freaked him out. But Maddie? She of the long legs, killer rack, and sultry face? Sultry, a word he’d never used to describe a woman. But damn, it fi

4 – Flynn McCauley – Stars!

I gave this one four stars because I really liked the H, Flynn. He was a great H, he was thoughtful, kind, affectionate, not to mention sexy as hell and I loved the way the author wrote him. I’m a sucker for role reversal in a romance. Usually the guy is the one dragging his feet and is an expert at denying what’s staring him in the face. So I loved that Flynn falls fast into lust with Maddie but he doesn’t beat around the bush when he realizes that he really likes he

2 -3 stars – Contemporary Romance

This was just okay for me. The sex scenes are frequent and smokin’ hot with lots of yowza dirty talk, but that’s the only real connection I felt between the H/h. And the heroine was annoying. I liked the secondary characters though, and I’m especially interested to read Mike’s story, What to Do with a Bad Boy.

OK.... this is not a enjoyable read. I thought its going to be funny, light and flirty. But I got boring, cold and lack of depth. The terms for woman body part is... not alluring. It turns my sense cold. I can not relate to both of main characters. They are very 1 dimensional. The insta love is un realistic.

The Troublemaker Next Door (The McCauley Brothers, #1) by Marie Harte

The Troublemaker Next Door by Marie Harte was a great, easy, panty dropping sexy read. I can't wait to read the other books in this series.

The McCauley brothers - Mike, Flynn, Cam, & Brody.
Welcome to the rough-and-tumble McCauley family, a tight-knit band of four bachelor brothers who works hard, drinks beer, and relentlessly teases each other. When three independent women move in next door, all

Flynn McCauley and his brothers are a one of a kind family filled with teasing, roughhousing, and loads of good times. So it’s really no wonder why he’s known for causing mischief around town. Flynn possesses those dangerous good looks and with that killer charm, it’s only a matter of time before Maddie succumbs to him. But though I make it sound easy, it doesn’t go as smoothly as one may think.

Maddie has just quit her job after her sleazebag boss tried to make a move on her. In addition, she

Maddie. Wow, this is a female lead who is just downright scary. She's exactly what I picture when I think of the romance book 'scary ex'. She's so incredibly insecure, its frightening. If I had to read 'we're just friends' one more time, I might have actually thrown up. She wants NO relationship, WE GET IT. Shit. But god forbid another woman EVEN LOOK at Flynn. How many times did she accuse him in a round about way of cheating on their NONRELATIONSHIP? Jeebus. I nearly didn't finish this book. T ...more

It's what the title tells you. 3 women move in together and next door are some hunks ;) But which one is the trouble maker, Flynn or Maddie? Honestly both are in ways, and that makes it fun.

Maddie is busy with her job, she got some relationship issues, but this is a romance so she will get over it.

Flynn is just hot blue collar, hot, I said hot already, yes hot.

They meet, he wants her, she wants it casual, we know they will fall for each other bit there is a road there to take. And that road is p

An enjoyable read.

Maddie is having a bad week and the last things she wants/needs is a new man in her life. Enter Flynn McCauley, who is taken with her red hair and her fiery temper.

Maddie and Flynn start as friends with benefits and their relationship grows strong. Maddie worked all her life for everything she has and things around her are stressing her out. Flynn is her rock, until her ex walks back into the picture. Maddie become unhinged, Flynn knows what he wants but is not sure how to go f
I discovered Marie Harte last year with another erotic romance series, The Wicked Warrens, and remember absolutely loving it. But now, more than a year later, would I still love her so much ? Oh yes I did ! I do !

Reading this novel was like spending time, joking and having fun with friends and family. It was comfortable like that. There are three friends who recently moved into a house : Maddie, who just broke up with her boyfriend and lost her job ; Vanessa, the bossy successfull blonde ; and A

This was a cute story, typical stupidity with the lack of communication...and had a slower start.

Side note: I've noticed the first book in any series tends to be a little jarring while I calibrate to that author's universe. Sort of like Martin Short's character in the movie "Innerspace"'s a bit like that, shrinking down to enter another world.

Sometimes, it's a smooth transition with barely any notice as to the difference between reality and the book. Sometimes it's a little while as I adj

Girl next door romances don't usually include a spitfire commitment-a-phobe man-hating redhead. In Troublemaker Next Door, Ms. Harte kicks off a new series, Nora Roberts style except with a lot more erotic heat. The McCauley Brothers series promises to be a very hawt read with delicious bad boys who love their momma. Flynn McCauley is the first to fall for a woman. He's no Momma's boy but he does mind her and she is a pretty cool mom. Flynn is a sexy plumber who's crack any woman would be happy ...more

Overall Opinion: This was a light, sexy read. I liked it, but some things bothered me enough for me not to love it. I really got tired of Maddie's need to downplay their relationship. She was admitting to herself that she was in love with her internal dialogue, but then she would rudely put Flynn in his place with a comment or action. It got old quickly. She was damaged from her upbringing and I get that, but when internally she feels one way and then acts or says something that contradic

So. Okay. It was good, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't like "oh my god, amazing."

So the basic gist is Maddie (the main girl) swears off men, and then meets her extremely attractive neighbor Flynn. He is a nice guy? Womanizer? I dunno. It was hard to really get a read on him. Anyway, so obviously the hook up, but decide to just be friends with benefits. So you see where the plot is going...

I think I just wasn't expecting that much sex. I mean those two were going at it ALL. THE. TIME. I also di

It has been years since I read this author, so I really didn't remember how she wrote or if I would enjoy it, so I went into this book with a clean slate. I was actually pleasantly surprised by it!

Flynn and Maddie were such a great couple and I loved how we got to see their love blossom over just a few short weeks. They were witty and funny, but also came across as very down to earth and realistic as well.

Maddie's hangups about relationships got annoying at times, and detracted from my enjoyment
Funny, hot, sexy and frustrating. This book was pretty awesome, I loved Flynn and his brothers but I REALLY loved Maddie's crazy crew.

There are more than a few frustrating moments when Maddie is off on one of her "we're not dating" tangents but honestly without her myopic view of relationships in the beginning we wouldn't see her grow. Having said that, her fits of fury are Hi-larious. Flynn is damn near a saint to put up with her sometimes, and I was really surprised that the confirmed bachelor

This was a cute, easy, somewhat fluffy read.

The beginning was great, but once I got further into the book, I was losing interest quickly.

I didn't really understand heroines reasonings for how she was the way she was. It was explained but ... Meh.

The hero and his family were great. I wish he was a bit more alpha. The store was cute but lacked it ... Whatever that is... To stand out from all the other contemp romances out there.

That said, I still enjoyed it. I will no
3.5 stars, too much of a struggle to accept love but it worked out in the end.
As I read this series of books (no cliffies) I like them more and more. I thought Maddie was pretty confused but Flynn more than made up for her, although why anyone would enter a pact like this is beyond me. I just believed that they were somehow the least self-aware people in their late 20s that were possible and went with it. Normally a heroine like this would annoy me no end but somehow I was curious enough to see
Maddie really rubbed me wrong in this book. She's whiny and has lots of issues, and I ran out of patience with her about 20% of the way through the book. She pushed Flynn away so many times, I wondered why there is even a book about her relationship-phobic ass.

Not the book for me. It has one of my peeves, which is having sex scenes that don't really fit the rest of the book. The heroine is annoying, the sex doesn't really make sense, the supporting characters will obviously have their own books, yadda yadda. The sex is supposed to be pretty hot and steamy, but there is a lot of sappy love talk which doesn't gel for me. I didn't take to any of the characters, especially not the female lead. And the epilogue leads into the next book by focusing on the s ...more
Crazy for Books (Stephanie)
Cute and Funny with some awesome sexy times. I think I responded to it because I identify with Maddie. Though I knew who my father was, I had no relationship with him. My mother did the same thing not getting child support, so growing up was a bit of a struggle. I've never trusted men and its hard for me to ask for help from anyone, just like Maddie.

Though Maddie found a great guy in Colin, I've yet to find someone great.

I'm looking forward to Brody and Abby's story.
I thought this was cute and hot. I just didn't think that the narrator was all that great at the dirty talk. I really liked the characters, including the whole McCauley clan. It should be interesting to see all the girls next door fall in love with the McCauley brothers. But, who's Michael to end up with? I will definitely continue on with this story
