My six year old son Reed has had digestive issues for his whole life. While we’ve received different diagnosis that conflict each other, we have spent the last three years going from Dr to Dr and trying different procedures. The one thing that really improved his digestive health was switching him to a Gluten Free diet. Unfortunately, Gluten Free products are not always readily available, nor are they very affordable. That’s why I was really curious to check out The Essential Gluten Free Grocery Guide to see what it had to offer that could help.

This might sound funny but I really like the look and texture of this book. I don’t want a guide that I’m going to be flipping through regularly to have the same pages as regular books that I read so it was nice that these were a semi gloss and thicker material, good for frequent flipping! First there are five chapters that give you a general understanding of Gluten Free shopping including things like general tips for grocery shopping and food labeling laws and then tips for using the grocery guide itself.

I tried flipping through the book first but went back and read the chapters and I think they had really useful information that should definitely be read first. They are short and sweet so you will get through them quickly. I love the color coded system because I’m a visual gal and that makes thinks jump out at you at a glance instead of having to hunt for the information. You just have to go to the section you want like ‘Dairy and Eggs’ or ‘Baked Goods’ and everything is listed alphabetically.

The Essential Gluten-Free Grocery Guide is an invaluable tool for anyone wanting to eat Gluten Free. I actually had no idea there were so many options available. This will make shopping so much easier!

4th Edition - Triumph Dining
The information was only of little help for me. I am going on year 5 with Celiac Disease. I live in New England. The products listed were for grocery stores that were not located in my area. Very disappointing.
