I was the perfect omega princess. People left me alone for the most part, my father loved me, and I was happy. Or so I thought. Three alphas break into my house on Christmas Eve and everything changes. Lies are exposed, my life is ripped away, and one of them is my scent match. This should be one of the happiest moments of my life. Unfortunately, I’m a very unlucky omega. They’re taking me to auction, but the snow changes our plans. Will this lead to a happy ever after, or continue my demise?
This is a dark Omegaverse where the men are twisted, masked, mafia men with forced proximity. Be prepared.
This book should come with a content warning for gang rape. The author lists it as “forced sex outside of harem”. It’s gang rape straight and simple.
Spoilers below. Trigger warning for graphic description of rape.
Chapters 1-14: 1 STAR
The first 14 chapters are horrific. The FMC is kidnapped, goes into her first heat and is forced to have sex with the pack who kidnapped her and then she is “accidentally” shot while trying to escape. The pack keeps her drugged and unconscious for 3 weeks while she’s healing to keep her compliant and easy to manage. They then sell her to an auction house despite knowing she’s going to be brutalized.
At the auction house Adira is drugged and forced on stage where she is brutally raped by two Alphas (not pack members) and the Beta who is a member of the pack. The whole scene is graphically described from the POV of the pack members who are watching.
This scene is brutally graphic and includes forced oral sex, vaginal sex and anal sex including fisting. All of which is done against her will, while she’s drugged to force “slick” and not for her enjoyment while a roomful of Alphas watch and bid on her. It’s horrific and traumatizing. The pack makes zero effort to stop it.
Chapters 14-22 4 STARS
Adira is purchased by the Kelly brothers, Callum and Duncan who have no intention of hurting her. They take her home and protect her. They bought her as a “favor” to the pack so they could “get her back”.
She wants nothing to do with the pack and rejects them and chooses instead to go to an Omega centre and the pack let her go so she can heal and they can “atone” by murdering their father who created the entire situation.
Adira makes friends, gets a job and starts college so she can heal and make a life for herself. She has completely shut out the pack. She is surrounded by good people who care about her well being.
I wish she would end up with the Kelly brothers. They are so sweet and kind.
Chapters 22-27 3 Stars
More of the same. FMC is taking back her life. The Pack are stalking her and Damon has joined her college so he can be close to her. The Kelly brothers continue to be awesome and look out for her. She ends up getting hot and heavy with one of her pack mates after a cage fight.
DNF at chapter 27. The book was starting to drag and it’s really clear she’s going to end up back with the assholes who sold her and let her get raped and i just can’t continue. The FMC is awesome and deserves do much better.

Jenn Bullard is my favorite dark Omegaverse author. And when I say dark I mean pitch black. She has given us some of the darkest Omegaverse books I've ever read. But somehow always manages to have me heartbroken and healed by the end of the book! This book was the longest book I've ever read by her! It follows Adira and her pack as they both navigate their feelings about each other after some very dark events. I truly didn't think after everything Adira had been through that we would get the HEA that I had hoped for. I was wrong! Jenn took us on a wild ride and still ended up with the best HEA with the revenge we needed to see! And the groveling Adira deserved!
Something that I love about Jenn's writing when it comes to her FMCs. They push through events NO ONE would be able to easily make it out of and they turn those events into something that can help others out! Especially omega's in need!
I loved how much we got to see previous packs in this book! 😍
Here is the thing about Jenn, she is going to absolutely rip your heart out of your chest with her words. This book is NOT for the feint of heart. It is dark y’all and it’s going to make you mad. It’s going to make you rage. You are going to need a break. But I promise you, she is going to put you back together but babbyyyyy she is going to make us work for it..
There were times where i wanted to toss my kindle in the trash, i wanted to rage. Bc my heart shattered into a billion pieces for Adira. As much as I grew to love this pack, the road getting there was rough to say the least. There is so much I can say but I think this is an experience that you need to have on your own.
And please for the live of all that is holy, read the triggers. Understand that this is a dark af book and some of what happens in the beginning of this book is fecked with a capital EFF.
This has been a very odd experience for me. I was appalled by the male characters and frankly, that happened quite early on. They kidnap her, spend her heat with her, one of them bonds her and then they bloody sell her. The audacity, I was fuming at that point. Then at the auction, she is severely abused and after all was said and done, they claimed that that was the inly way out. Ridiculous ideas. I am not sure what this was, but I do not enjoy not being informed that there would be descriptive abuse on page. If that is to be left on the side, the MMCs were irredeemable in my eyes, regardless of what they did otherwise. I did finish it, just to see if she will eventually abandon them for good, but no. All is forgiven and they move on. I respect other people's views on the matter and I understand that some may enjoy the story, but this simply was not acceptable for me. I did debate whether I should leave a review or not, but I do regret not reading the reviews for this one and had i known what ai was in for, probably I would not have picked this one.

Tangled in Knots was another amazing hit by Jenn Bullard! I absolutely devoured this!
My heart ached so much during this one. It was angsty and heartbreaking but what our Pack went through definitely made them stronger. But oomph I just Definitely screamed at these boys a few times while reading.
I loved the growth that Adira went through - and I loved seeing the omega center through a guests' POV vs the management side.
I loved all the cameos of previous book characters. I did a little happy dance every time a familiar person popped up!
The ending left me so excited! Can't wait to see what happens next with Adira and the Dresmond pack.
I pretty much love everything Jenn puts out there. This one doesn’t disappoint!
I love this series. I was worried at first because the story felt clunky at the beginning (first few chapters) but then it smoothed out and by the end I was in love. These men are morally BLACK. You will hate them. You will never want her to forgive them. You will rage against them. The grovel is absolutely amazing and much needed and watching Adira grow and become a force to be reckoned with was excellent. If you like this series then you will find this book enjoyable. If you haven’t read the series go back and read the first book. This book should NOT be your introduction to the series!
I don't even know where to start on this review. This book has a bit of everything. The omega isn't your normal rollover, and do whatever the alpha says. The alphas are jerks but jerks that would do anything for her once they get their heads out of their back ends. You have a strong, underline story going on while having the well needed smut to make a well-rounded book. It's a long book, though. Carve your time out wisely
Jenn's dark omegaverse is AMAZING! Check the trigger warnings. And prepare to meet Adira and Pack Dresmond. Jed, Kane, Damon, and their beta Morris are the perfect pack for her. They just have to earn it first. I'd suggest starting with Knot My Sin and reading in order as the packs you meet are all entangled in the overall story.
Tangled in Knots, book 4 of the Unhingedverse series, by Jenn Bullard @author_jenn_bullard. Read the trigger warnings! First off, I am a huge fan of Jenn’s & this book was no different!
This was a fantastic book about Adira, Damon, Kane, Morris & Jed. Tropes: Omegaverse, Why Choose, MM, a list of TWs, hurt/comfort, groveling & revenge.
I did confirm a TW (noncon) which was explained & I made the decision to read the book. I'm glad I did, though the scene was rough.
Adira has only known life at her home with her dad. He says life isn’t safe for an omega especially in their mafia world. She also doesn’t always trust the men who guard their house, so it’s just easier to stay inside and listen to what her father wants. He’s is trying to follow his father’s orders, but something doesn’t sit right. This omega that they are here for had her father wanting her protected. Why? What is different about this situation? Will Adira be safe?
This is a great addition to this world that is being built. As always, the character building is on point. I love how each of the books in this Omegaverse is a stand alone, but is also interconnected with the characters from other books. So if you read this first, go back and read the others. Everything will make sense in the bigger picture. Each of these characters was so complex. Yes it is a girthy book, but it still makes you devour it quickly. I can’t wait to see what other books and whose story will come out next.
Honestly, you need to be careful reading Jenn Bullard’s books. I basically have no triggers and I found the first part of this book tough to get through because there is some pretty intense on-page SA. However, at the same time, there is something about Jenn Bullard’s books which really draw you in. I think they tend to lose stem about 60% of the way through but there is something really addictive about them. But please be careful in dipping into this universe – it’s called a dark omegaverse for a reason.
Ms Bullard continues to be one of the best dark romance omegaverse authors I’ve ever read.
These books are not for people who have triggers. The MMC’s go *through* it. But thats what makes their stories so freaking amazing.
Adira is a spoiled, sheltered omegaverse mafia princess. Her dad has never told her why she cant leave her house, just that it’s safe. But when her dad is blamed for stealing from someone in the mafia and is taken and unalived, the men who did it come in the middle of the night to steal Adira away as well. The guys who take her have a terrible father who assumes he may as well get his pound of flesh out of Adira. He has plans to spend however long he can selling her over and over at auction to get as much pain and embarrassment out of her for her father’s sins.
The MC’s are on bored with this plan until they actually meet Adira. First thing— she goes into an unexpected heat. They have to pull over and stay at one of the pack member’s sister’s house to see her through it (the family was gone for Christmas). PLUS one of the MC’s is her freaking scent match AND he bonds her during their heat! So now by the end of the heat hes like “theres no chance Im letting any of you take her to this auction.” Their bond is SO solid that he can feel everything she feels.. she can literally d!ck-punch him through their mental bond😂
So the guys come up with a plan to take her to the auction, get the Kelly Brothers (kind of allies) to bid on her for them, then go pick her up from the brother’s house and keep her. That way they can pull one over on their psychotic father, not get in trouble for just running with her, and figure out a way to take their dad down later once Adira is safe.
They didn’t really plan on what they had ready for Adira when they *get* to the auction, however. The auction owner, another omega (WTF?? This bitch keeps coming back, too, and i haaaate her!) and Rock (the pack’s dad) want Adira’s complete humiliation. They want to see her break. So they inject her with something that makes her feel like shes going into heat, then they make people watch while Alphas take her on the stage. They ALSO make the pack’s Beta be a part of it, which absolutely guts him. Especially since he was the one Adira trusted the most after everything she had been through up until that point.
Beaten, humiliated, and broken, Adira is purchased by the Kelly Brothers and learns very soon after waking up that these men aren’t like the other mafia men. They have a best friend who they lost when she was 14 … who they’re pretty sure is their Omega.. so they can not STAND the auctions or the thought of ANYHTING happening to an Omega. The bond between Adira and the Kelly brothers is everything. These men will do absolutely anything for Adira and go out of their way to keep her safe and help her heal after what she goes through. They are best friend soulmates and it was my fave part of the story next to the relationship between Adira and her pack.
And the shit her pack has to go through to grovel and make it up to her?? Ugh it was SO GOOD. These guys are MISERABLE. They can’t believe what they had to watch her go through, what they put her through, and how its affected her.
But Adira pulls HERSELF up. She makes them drop her off at the Omega Have, meets Wren and Aisling, and those girls along with our fave Bartender and Coffee House owner do everything they can to help Adira get on her feet after loosing freaking everything.
Im gonna leave off from there because the rest of the book is just so so so good and I think most of the triggers take place BEFORE this point..
It was so great to see Aisling and Wren meeting and bring Adira into their friend group. It was even better watch both their packs because so protective over Adira.
Speaking of protective… the Kelly Brothers? Dear GOD in heaven I can not wait for those boys’ book!
Watching Adira take control of her life.. seeing how Aisling’s dad helped her and became a paternal figure to her.. seeing how all the packs from the last three books have come together in this one? This book was perfection in my opinion. I ate it up in a single day.
Please, please please keep writing more dark omegaverse romances, Jenn! No one does them quite like you do and the angst is SO PHENOMENAL.
ARC provided by the author and her PA. I am leaving my honest review.

It was only when I get half way in to chapter 17 (34%) that I was finally able to breath, because wholly hěll what and angst filled emotional ride!!! Wowzers this book will stay with me for a long while, it just hits hard and fast.
Tangled in Knots has been a rollercoaster of emotions - shock, horror, betrayal, grovelling, redemption, friendship, joy and love. What an amazing, brilliantly written book!
It’s a long’ish book, but it’s so needed to fit the whole story in, but in no way did it actually feel long, if anything I needed more!! Especially when they get their revenge on the man who wronged them all, I so need much more torture especially for the MMC’s!! But Hayhoo I have a vengeful soul 🤣
I can’t recommend this highly enough, just be prepared and enjoy the ride!!
Adira is a sweet pampered princess locked in the cage of her home, until 3 masked men break in to kidnǎp her. The kicker, one of them is her scent match. She can’t understand what’s going on with her body but she needs to escape. Her heat took them all by surprise but they got her through it, but not unscathed as she’s now bonded to her scent matched. They are so intrinsically linked any harm to one would hurt the other. But they have to deliver her to their father, so betray and hurt her massively.
Adira went through sheer hëll at the aućtion, which was hard to read. Fortunately two unlikely men buy her and save her from further päin. They become her best friends and fierce protectors. (I can’t wait for their story next 😍) Slowly she rebuilds her life, becoming a strong powerhouse in her own right, but unfortunately the thrêat hasn’t truly gone away!
The Desmond pack - Jed, Kane, Damon are alpha brother and their beta Morris. (Morris is in a sëxųal relationship with Jed & Kane) I absolutely detested them at first, they were awful, uncaring and manipülative to Adira. The pack are all brütal, sädiștic, obedient soldiers for their abüsive and contrölling mäfia boss father.
Jed being the eldest and leader of the pack often gets the brunt of their father’s brütality, saving his pack, especially if things don’t go exactly as planned on missions. Kane is a pșychotic masöchist who also loves blöwing things up. Damon suffers the most in the pack because of the bond, at first he tries to distanced himself from Adira. Morris was the tech whizz and driver. He had lots of mëntal health träuma after the aůction, as it was deemed that he be active in the process. They thought it would help Adira having him there!! I know Jed had a reason for forcing the pack to bètray her, but we don’t know this till much later.
Once Adira finds sanctuary in Wren & Aisling’s omega refüge, she tries to piece herself back together after so much physical and especially mëntal träuma, slowly she begins to rebuild her life. Adira gains some amazing friendships along the way. (It was fantastic to meet lots of characters from previous books - (Wren & Aisling are from books 1 & 3 in the series, along with their mates))
The Desmond pack work hard to gain forgiveness from Adira, make new alliances and plot ‘n’ plan for their dad and his packs unaliving.
YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!!!! Triggers include: parental manipulation & extreme control, kidnapping, non-con with a harem member, murder of a parent, trafficking, held captive, omega bring shot, forced drug use, gang raped in front of audience, humiliation and degradation, panic attacks, PTSD & nightmares, FMC traumatized, MCs suicidal thoughts within harem, guns & knives, torture, violence, blood, gore, graphic unaliving.
This is a standalone in a 4-book series. The tropes include: Dark MMMFM, found family, dark, depraved and crazy alphas, Mafia, enemies to lovers, FMC refuses to break, hurt/comfort, mental health, nesting, scent match & heats, very close bonding, anxiety & depression, traumatized alphas, kink = brat, praise, dirty talk, spanking, DP & group s*x, blood and knife play, c*ck warming, pain and chocking kink (MC), asphyxiation kink, forced proximity, voyeurism kink.
This is my first Jenn Bullard novel. As I've said in other reviews, 2024 is the year of new authors for me. And honestly, I am here for it. I have been absolutely loving it. And this is no exception. Tangled in Knots is fabulous.
It was full of angst and tension and heartbreak. What the pack goes through, oh my lord, I thought I was going to die. But it didn't break them. It made them so much stronger. I will admit that I did want to yell and scream at all these guys more than a few times, though.
The growth that Adira goes through – it was inspiring, and to see an omega at the center and through a guests POV rather than the management side was so wonderful. I loved it.
I adored getting to meet the characters from the previous books who make appearances in this book. That made this book so much more fun.
This ending, I don't think I would really call it that much of a cliffhanger, to be honest. It doesn't feel like a cliffhanger. Which is so nice for a change. So many books end in these nasty cliffhangers that leave you with a book hangover, and this one just leaves you looking forward to seeing what happens next with the Dresmond Pack and Adira.
This book put me through it. The characters went through so much its unbelievable. Not just the fmc but even the mmcs went through a lot too. These are people that have experienced pain and abuse.
I def do not want to get super into it bc this is a book that you just have to go in blind to (read tws though). So much happened that I wouldn't even know where to start.
What I can say is that our fmc Adira was phenomenal. She was such a fighter. She came a long way from being a sheltered wasn't allowed to do anything omega to becoming as deadly as any experienced unaliver. She has gone through A lot of stuff but one of my favorite things about her is that she never truly gave up. She suffered but she always stood back up, fought and got up to do it again the next day. She was such a real honest and pure person that it was easy to like her. Not just the readers but this girl picked up people that immediately fell for her and protected her without a second thought easily.
The guys started off very very bad 😭😭. As mad as I was about what they did they had their reasons. I loved how close they were and how they protected each other. They knew that they messed up mad but they spent the entire book making up for their mistakes. They didn't rush her and let her move and heal at her own pace.
Like I said I a lot happens that had me wanting to scream at my phone. These characters fought hard for their happy ending and I'm so happy they got it. This one is definitely worth a read.
We got to see a lot of characters from previous books which I loveeee. Seeing them with their packs, still helping people and just being happy was amazing. This author does an amazing job giving us a happy ending while setting us up for the next book so I cannot wait for the next one.
If you've ever read a Jenn Bullard book, you know she writes dark romance. This book is no exception. In fact, this may be one of the darkest books she's written (at least for me). Be sure to check the trigger warnings. Seriously, like read every single one and pay attention.
I LOVE Adira. She goes through a LOT of crap, but she comes out the other side and takes her life back. She's so strong and resilient, and you can't help but love her from the start. The MMCs ... let's just say I legitimately told myself through almost the whole book that I wasn't going to forgive them. I had a bit of difficulty with one of the things they did (it's one of the triggers) and I was absolutely firm in the fact that I would hate the guys. I got mad at Adira when she started forgiving them, and I was seriously hoping she'd completely ditch them and find a totally new pack. She's not one of those weak FMCs who immediately forgives them just because they're hot, or because they're alphas and she's an omega. She does make them WORK for it, and I loved every second of it. Oh, I totally went back on my word to myself. I don't know how Jen did it, but I ended up loving the guys in the end. It boggles my mind how she managed it, but I guess that's just how talented she is!
I would like to point out, and this is important, that my difficulty with that trigger has no influence on my opinion of this book. I knew what I was getting into (having read and loved every other book of Jen's), but that one specific trigger just hit me. I loved the book and I absolutely recommend it to anyone who likes dark romance.
I discovered a new, accurate description for books like these. Trauma Porn. It's over the top & repetitive & unnecessary!
First off the MMC's weren't all that in the beginning. I softened on Jed a bit with his POV during the gang bang grape scene & his thoughts that the FMC deserved everything under the sun.
First WHY did the author feel the need to write such a long descriptive grape scene? It's written like it's supposed to be hot & spicy.
This was a full on grape scene by multiple random alpha men on stage (and 1 beta part of the harem).
The FMC was giving drugs to comply with said graping & is kinda out of her mind. She's graphically graped & fisted in her backdoor! During an auction & a crowd
it just never ended.
2nd all of this would've been avoided if her harem had just shot & killed their POS mob Dad who ordered the graping & auction.
Ive read 2 books from this author & in both of them the FMC is put through horrific things all while their dated, bonded alpha is powerless to do something.
I don't find these so called alphas particularly powerful or even manly enough to be considered a hero.
Both books the torture porn is Ott as is the villain. Both books run about 100 pages too long.
Both books the female recovered her sass too quickly. Sorry.
The only saving grace with both books was how other packs were called in to help the current harem.
In this case Pact Kelly came in & helped & it's a shame since I really wanted to read about those 2 sweat heart alphas but all that extreme trauma Porn just isn't worth it..
Adira was a pampered princess living in a gilded cage, innocent and ignorant. That ended when Pack Dresmond under their father's orders murdered her father, blew up her house, and kidnapped her with orders to take her to be auctioned off. It doesn't go according to plan. Snow, an unexpected heat, a bond match, and an accidental shooting all complicate what should have been a simple snatch and delivery for Pack Dresmond. Somewhere along the way, they fell for the little Omega and started making plans to save her and end their father's reign of terror.
Goodness, this needed editing. It's way too long and the pacing is much too slow. Repetition kills tension. I know this is marketed as a dark romance but where is the romance part? Kidnapping, rape, rape, rape, attempted kidnapping and rape, fake kidnapping and sexual assault with some murders thrown in. This went too far for forgiveness. Plus, there was no wooing and spoiling. Adira forgave the unforgivable without any hardcore groveling or courting. She only had chemistry with Damon; the other three were in a relationship and it worked without her. I would have been happier if Callum and Duncan could have let the memory of their first love go and fallen for Adira. I would have even let Damon join in. My favorite part was the Omega Center with Wren and Aisling, Adira's podcast, and Aisling's family. Omega politics and resources were way more interesting to me than Pack Dresmond.
I’ve always loved Jenn Bullard’s books and this one was definitely no different! We continue on in the Unhingedverse and I am LOVING this series!! It’s fantastically dark and smutty!!! Although I have to say, some parts of this one felt a little darker than others. But I could just be crazy! 🤪
Adria was so freaking strong. I don’t know how anyone could go through what she did and come out the other side. Although, I guess she did come out a little more aggressive! 😁
There were times when I full on hated Pack Dresmond. Jed, Kane, Damon and Morris were just too much. I don’t know if ANY amount of groveling was enough. Good intentions only get you so far.
But the book was written wonderfully and it made be like the pack again. I even started to cheer for them! Jenn has such an amazing gift being able to write stories that drag you in, twist you around and then still manage to drop you on the other side smiling!
I cannot wait to get the Kelly Brothers story! They were wonderful supporting characters in this book! I know they have to be getting their own right? This book and the other books in this series are just amazing, outstanding, remarkable, extraordinary, magnificent, phenomenal, fabulous, sensational, incredible, tremendous, etc… Get it? They are THAT good!! You should be reading these books instead of my review! 😘 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love love love the world that this author is building with her packs! This one is about Adria and her pack.
Adria's father wasn't a good person and owes people money! Or so you think.... So how is it best but to pay it with his own daughter's life. So a pack steals her, kills her father and burns down the family home! But .... .. wait.... She goes in heat and the whole plan changes. When she is going through her heat and Damon bites her. So now their bonded mates and she is going to be sold. They need to come up with a plan to stop it. But the person that wants them to sell her is their own father. This book has some crazy twists and turns in it and what happens is fantastic. This was a little darker than the first one and that is ok cause I am all for it.
Adira is just too sweet in the beginning but you come to find the true colors of what is really going on here. Well she forgives everything that happened with her meets and is able to get past everything.
The way this author writes she gives so much details and the story really is like watching a movie. I very much enjoy the world she is building and everything coming with it. I can't wait to see what happens next and if she involves both books together like the last time.
I'm going to be very blunt This is what happens when an author surrounds themselves with a team of yes men. Someone should have had a very frank conversation about not only the quality of editing or lack thereof, but more importantly the content.
I read a lot of dark romance, horror, even things without an HEA. Unfortunately there seems to be a trend with authors trying to one up themselves on the awful factor. There's a complete lack of anything resembling mental health or respect for actual sexual assault survivors. The more I read the more pissed I became.
It's called dark omegaverse in reality it's torture porn and I'm convinced the author is a man who hates women. There's a very fine line being dark romance and abuse. This passed it. And the author seems proud of it in their advertising. I'm genuinely concerned for the future of omegaverse when arc readers are raving and calling this romance. Some authors aren't meant for the genre. This was straight up abuse. The fmc had no choice because she was trapped by her biology. At least in normal dark romance the fmc makes the choice to stay. Here she was TRAPPED.
I'm getting more furious as I write, so I'll end this here. If you're going to write sensitive subjects... Do it with care or you're just part of the problem.
🖤Safety first, my friends 🖤 If you've never read a dark Omegaverse, I don’t recommend starting with this one. Mental health is important because Tangled in Knots has many triggers and deals with heavy topics like others in this series.
Jenn is so talented. She has a way with words and turns these chaotic, heartbreaking stories she’s created in the unhingedverse into beautiful masterpieces. I’m always in awe of each new story.
What a beautifully messy, chaotic, insane story Tangled in Knots was. Buckle up because she was a THICK one, but I didn't mind it one bit. These characters had so much to say, so many moving pieces, that I couldn’t imagine her cutting anything from the story. I fucking loved crazy insane Kane and Damon. These two guys were my favorite. If you like them bat-sh💩t crazy, you’ll love Kane. 😈 Adira, wow. I mean, everything she went through, including all the pain and struggles, broke my heart for her, but oh, she was such a strong, fierce badass.
I loved the little surprise at the end and didn't mind that she left it open because I know there will be more of this pack. 🖤
I’m excited to read more about the Kelly brothers and read Broken Dreams.
Oh this book? Completely deranged and I was so into it. Adira goes from prim, protected omega to stolen away on actual Christmas Eve by three masked alphas who may or may not be about to ruin her entire life (spoiler: they do). And when she scent-matches to the most unhinged one of the lot? I was fully feral.
This is dark even for Jenn Bullard. The trauma is front and center, the emotions are raw, and yet somehow she still manages to make you feel for these morally black-hole alphas. They’ve all got deeply messy pasts, and they’re not forgiven easily, but the groveling? The emotional breakthroughs? So satisfying.
Adira is quietly fierce, even when everything's been ripped away from her. She survives, she adapts, and eventually, she reclaims everything. Watching her go toe-to-toe with these emotionally stunted men who don’t know what to do with their feelings?? Loved it.
This isn’t a warm-and-fuzzy read, it’s brutal, intense, and emotionally heavy, but if you love: ✨ Dark omegaverse trauma bonding (literally) ✨ Broken boys who have to grow ✨ A heroine who finds her strength in the wreckage ✨ Found family but like… mafia edition
Then Tangled in Knots is exactly the twisted emotional chaos you're looking for.
Fk Jenn!!! That ending!!! The kinda sorta cliffy there!!! But also, that story was so brilliantly written! I had so many emotions as I was reading this. Sad and happy for Adira, but then anger for the things she endured. Mad at her pack for being such buttheads!!!! Ugh I really could’ve cut off their knots for that!!! I really hate what Damon and Jed went through with their dad though. And Damon not knowing what was going on with Adira… my heart hurt a lot when reading (as it usually does when I read a book by the tiny pixie!) she knows how to pull at every little emotion you have. You want to feel happy.. sure, then get fitted with something super sad.
Always look for the trigger warnings with her books, (because there’s a lot and you’ll want to scream, cry, jump for joy just to be mad and want to throw your reading device). However, the way Jenn writes, you can feel the rollercoaster of emotions that she goes through when writing these books. I’m so glad I found her and that she’s writing omegaverse too! It’s become my new fav thing to read. I can’t wait to read about the Kelly’s book and if they find their missing omega!
This whole series lives up to its claim of being a dark omegaverse. And this whole series does a good job of making that darkness ride the line between very dark but still able to believe in a HEA ending. This book not only fits in perfectly with the rest of the series (and brings back some favorite characters!), but also takes it up a notch on both counts.
The path the FMC must walk in this book is dark. The sort we don’t often want to admit could be real. However, the author does an excellent job of having that darkness mean something to the characters. They don’t just move on, and they don’t even move on the way a person who’s been cheated on (for example) would. These characters have to face their choices—and the choices of the people around them—and then learn and grow and heal in a slow, nuanced manner. The author did that very well, making it an inspiring journey to go on with the characters and, honestly, leaving me wishing more people understood that healing, and mental health, is not one-size fits all, easy, or a simple journey with a definite end point. Bravo! Definitely my favorite in an admittedly well-loved series.
💜 Enemies to Lovers 🖤 Why Choose (with MM) 💜 Auctioned Omega 🖤 Kidnapping 💜 Betrayal 🖤 Heavy Triggers 💜 HEA
This was such a gripping and emotionally intense read. From the first chapter, the story pulls you into a world where nothing is as it seems, and every choice feels life-changing.
The story follows an omega who thought she had the perfect life—until three masked, mafia alphas break into her home on Christmas Eve and tear everything apart. Betrayal, lies, and forced proximity set the stage for an unforgettable journey packed with raw emotion, suspense, and twisted romance.
What I loved most was how the story balanced its darker moments with an engaging plot that kept me hooked. The twists, the chemistry, and the emotional depth made it hard to put down. I found myself rooting for the omega, even when the odds felt impossible.
If you’re into “why choose” romances with intense alphas and dark omegaverse tropes, this one is definitely for you. It’s heavy, but the story and HEA are well worth it!
This one is a long book, 200k, which means almost 700 pages. It is SUPER dark, so be aware of all trigger and content warnings. I usually never take this long to finish a book, but I needed to put it aside at times, for multiple reasons.
Adira has had a sheltered life till it's thrown upside down when she is kidnapped and that is the luckiest of things that happen to her. You won't be getting rainbows and unicorns in this one, so be ready to experience the worst of the worst, and then more that you couldn't imagine.
Adira and her men do not have an easy time, we see other characters from within this universe and that's always awesome. We see the set up for the next book, those Kelly boys, they deserve so much happiness and I hope they get it, tho, we know it won't be easy and it won't be fast.
I'm not telling you don't read this book, I'm not telling you that you must, but I will say, everyone has different levels of what they can take and handle. Know yours, but let Adira's story be told to you if you desire that.
