New Orleans lounge singer Tally Addison has a problem: her employer at The Blue Note is selling the business, and Tally's desperate to buy the sultry jazz club. But how's she going to land the cash? Simple as black bottom pie.

Tally's in possession of an authentic Gabriel Dampier treasure map, penned by the great pirate himself. Or at least she's holding a tattered portion of it. Her brother ripped off most of it by mistake...and now he's missing.

The only person Tally trusts to find her brother -- and her lucrative map -- is sexy P.I. Christien Castille. But can she trust herself when the dark-eyed Cajun heartbreaker is near?

Award winning, bestselling author Karen Anders is a three time National Readers’ Choice Award finalist, Romantic Times Reviewers Choice finalist and has won the prestigious HOLT Medallion. Two of her novels made the Waldenbooks Bestseller list in 2003. Published since 1997, she currently writes for the Harlequin Romantic Suspense line. Karen’s love of reading is what ultimately led her to writing romance.

Karen came to romance early when, at sixteen, her Valentino-loving grandmother gave her The Sheik to read. Ever since that day she devoured romance in all types of genres including: historical, western, fantasy, time travel, and science fiction. It wasn’t until she started reading contemporaries that she couldn’t find the type of books she wanted to read. That’s when she thought she would try her hand at writing one herself. Her fourth book Jennifer’s Outlaw written for Silhouette Intimate Moments sold in 1995 and was published in April 1997.

Karen then went on to sell to Harlequin Blaze in 2001 and her first Blaze was released in January 2002. She’s written 12 books altogether.

Karen is proud of her two daughters whom she raised as a divorced mom for 15 years. One is launched into the world and the other is attending college. Although she misses the beautiful mountains of her home state of Vermont, Karen moved to Northern Virginia is 1981 and then to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2006.

Karen loves to paint in both watercolors and Chinese Brush painting as just another creative outlet.

This was an interesting read for me, as I selected it for its ability to meet about 6 different reading challenges with one book. Go, multi-tasking me! I used to be addicted to the Blaze line of Harlequin books, for its modern romance, a quickly resolved plotline, and of course, smexy good times. Now, I still like the first two, but found myself ho-humming through the sex scenes. I must be getting really old. Or, really sickly.

I digress.

Give Me Fever is a fun read, about a lounge singer named Tally with lots of unaccomplished ambitions and an aversion for romance, a cock-blocking twin sister, and half a pirate's treasure map that could get her the money she needs to purchase the blues lounge where she currently sings. Cue in the Ragin' Cajun, whose name I've totally misplaced, but that's all right. Just know he's smexy hot, makes a great breakfast and gumbo too, and will lick you sidewise while whispering sweep nothings into your ear in French. I wonder if he drink chicory coffee?

I digress again.

The Ragin' Cajun is a disgraced cop, a current PI, and he agrees to help find Tally's missing brother, who's unknowingly absconded with the missing half of the treasure map. Add in a pair of 200 year old ghosts, an ancient curse, and a mission to get a new display in the wing of New Orleans's history museum, and you have a wonderful little romance with lots of Tabasco heat, some paranormal activity, and a blues songstress who needs to find her inner courage. Yup, good times, and a good read. Well done.
