“Be intentional. Align your actions with your values. Isn’t that what integrity is all about?”
Silent impact explores the impact we make, often when we aren’t trying to be impactful. Action steps, along with inspirational stories, are included to help the reader reflect.

As a Minnesotan, I especially enjoyed the MN connections.

While I heard many of the stories during his speech, having the book to review & solidify them was good. Shared several of his ideas with others.
In this negative climate, hope!!!!

Joe Schmit has had life experiences that many people dream about, meeting sports heroes and scoring those awesome interviews with coaches. What he has done with those experiences is turn them into life lessons and showed how everyone, no matter who they are, can have an impact on other's lives.

In SILENT IMPACT, Schmit shows us that people of influence can be the person who has the corner office, but is often the person who cleans the corner office. These people often share a purpose, are persistent, and have a passion, either in their career or in life in general. As any good reporter will do, Schmit shows us people of influence and tells us the stories we have never heard. For example, we hear about Joe Mauer, Minnesota Twins MVP, and how his influence in the high school cafeteria had a ripple effect on multiple lives. In contrast, we are also introduced to an elderly gentleman who daily visits to a Wendy's drive-thru had a huge impact on his life. Each of these stories will make you stop and think about the impact you are making on others.

SILENT IMPACT is a short book that is full of life lessons and truly is a must-read. I either laughed or cried on nearly every page. I had several "A-ha" moments and many quotes and lessons I want to remember. SILENT IMPACT will leave a big impression on your life and you will want to share it with everyone you know.

In a world of negative news this is a refreshing, worthwhile, necessary, and critical book! The book tells stories of different types of people who utilized positive thoughts, positive words, and positive actions to impact those around them AND cause a ripple effect that is unmeasurable! The book is so enjoyable because humor is injected throughout and the book invites the reader to be a person of positive impact themselves. The important message that this book conveys is that we can all make a difference in our daily lives by our behaviors. The author encourages us to improve ourselves and bear witness to uplifting influences.
We are hosting the author at his hometown library on April 10, 2014! We are overjoyed about this opportunity.

Joe Schmit writes about the small things that folks do that make an impact on the lives of one or many. Not only doing them, but doing them without mentioning it to others - obviously the "silent" part. A philosophy because as I've heard, it begins with you. A reminder to help out when you can because it may be in your heart to do it but our lives get so busy... Thanks for the reminder and the examples, Mr. Schmit.

I'm not usually a big fan of the self help/improvement books, but this was funny, insightful, inspiring and a true call to be our best selves for all around us. Who knows, maybe it will change the world.

Sweet short stories of the impact one life can have on others. The Reporter's Notebook takes time for more depth making this much better than the typical Chicken Soup for the Soul books.

I'm sure it appeals to some, but not me. I expected more, as it was selected for the "county reads" program.
