The first time I met Miles Aldrich, he stole my cupcakes.
The second time, I handed him a bill for what he owed me. He’s a billionaire after all. He can afford it.
The third time we met… well, that was the biggest surprise of all. I walked into his office looking for help with a business plan. But I somehow walked out… with a fake boyfriend.
Miles claims the plan is simple: he’ll lend me his powerful family’s reputation by posing as my boyfriend. I’ll gain important contacts, and he’ll have someone by his side so he doesn’t have to make excuses for why he’s not dating anyone.
For one whole summer, Miles Aldrich is not so truly mine. The real man behind the smooth lines and flirty smiles is nothing like I assumed.
He’s sunshine in a tall, gorgeous package.
He kisses me like his life depends on it.
Logically, I know this relationship of ours isn’t real.
But the problem is… the feelings he’s bringing out in me are true as can be.
Tropes: Fake dating Billionaire Golden retriever boyfriend/black cat girlfriend Found family Workplace
Miles Aldrich. Known as the "problematic" Aldrich brother. While Weston Aldrich built him empire, Miles never quite found his place. That was then, this is now. Miles Aldrich is a business strategist. Helps business start and grow. And there is one business he has his eye on now. Or more like one girl. Daisy Dunham. And he wants to see her and her business succeed. But what if he ends up wanting more than that?
"Miles Aldrich was not who I'd expected him to be."
Daisy Dunham. Known for her amazing cupcakes and "meat cups". But also for being a part of a family that reminds the town of death. Her last name hanging over her like a cloud that won't go away. Her passion is her food. And Miles Aldrich is the person who can make her passion and dream a reality. She just didn't count on it involving Fake Dating an Aldrich. Daisy will do everything she can to make her dream real. Miles Aldrich is just part of that plan. Or is that all he is?
"There was no going back to how things were before."
I received an advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.
"There's no one who reminds me more of all the sweet things about living than you do."
I always wanted Miles to have a book. I always wanted to see him have his own love. His own journey. And Julia Wolf delivered us Miles and Daisy on a silver platter next to mini cupcakes. This book was so good! The contrast between Daisy and Miles, their family, their relationship with the town was incredible. I did not expect to connect to Miles more than I already did, but that's Julia Wolf for you. Writing characters that get stuck in your heart and never and I repeat NEVER make their way out! I am so sad that this series is over. It is very bittersweet. But I also cannot WAIT to see what else we have in store!! 💙💙
"Dear god, was I easy when it came to Daisy Dunham."
Miles Aldrich was the kid with the reputation. The rich kid who went around bullying people for the fun of it. At least that's what everyone assumed. A lot has happened since then. A lot of changes. Miles Aldrich is not who he used to be. When I said I didn't expect to connect to Miles as much as I did is because of how he feels to the people he loves. How he doesn't want to bother them with his problems. Always the happy go-lucky golden retriever. Just to not mess everything up. Once of the book characters that I related the most with (not the bullying thing even though I think that helped him learn a lot about himself). Also his relationship with the rest of the group is absolutely hilarious to me and I love it each and every time. And then Daisy comes into his world. Her and her mini cupcakes. Her and her attitude. And let's just say their chemistry and banter is OFF THE CHARTS!!
"Now, surrounded by everything Daisy? I might have to crawl."
Daisy Dunham. Her name has been a burden to carry throughout their small town. But she has never let that get to her. At least she doesn't think so. Daisy being a Lydia Deetz aesthetic is everything I wanted and didn't know I needed honestly. She is a badass and a spitfire and she knows her worth (and thank god for that). The way the town interacts with her family and the way her family interacts with her and again the contrast between her and Miles is enchanting to read honestly. Miles and Daisy develop a relationship which is something each of them needed and didn't expect to get. They help each other. They help each other grow and understand what they have been missing and that is just perfect to me.
"Everything really was more fun when she was around."

🦆 Fake Dating 🦆 Found Family 🦆 Billionaire Romance 🦆 Golden Retriever x Black Cat 🦆 Workplace Romance
4.5 stars - ARC review - I was patiently waiting for Mile story and boy did Julia deliver. This golden retriever was holding SO much pain in and was finally able to be seen and loved by his black cat fake girlfriend Daisy.
I loved how this story progressed and how their communication. Was handled. It was honestly the perfect ending for the series.
However - there is ONE thing (and it’s personal) that I wish was given as a content warning before the book began.
If you don’t want to know what it is please stop reading here!!
Last chance
Seriously
Okay here we go
Seriously - this is your final warning
The ending of the book dealt heavily with suicidal thoughts. And it was more of a “I don’t want to die but I don’t want to be here” as someone who struggles with mental illness I just wish there was a warning at the beginning so I wasn’t so heavily surprised by it. That way I could have made sure I was in the right headspace to read it. There is no attempt or suicide, but talk of heavily depressed person
- UPDATE: Julia Wolf, the sweet queen that she is, reached out and told me she has added a content warning to the book!!! YAY!!!!
What a delightful surprise! I've just finished "Not So Truly Mine" by Julia Wolf, and I'm genuinely impressed. This book had me hooked from start to finish!
The story kicks off with a hilarious encounter between Daisy and Miles Aldrich involving some stolen cupcakes. From there, we dive into a fake dating plot that turns out to be much more entertaining and emotionally resonant than I initially expected.
What really captivated me was the sizzling chemistry between Daisy and Miles. Julia Wolf does a fantastic job developing their relationship. From their initial business-like agreement to the gradual blossoming of real feelings, every moment feels authentic and exciting. The banter between them is top-notch - I found myself laughing out loud at their witty exchanges!
I love how Wolf subverts the typical billionaire trope. Miles isn't your run-of-the-mill brooding rich guy. Instead, he's charming, vulnerable, and surprisingly relatable. And Daisy? She's a breath of fresh air - strong, independent, but not afraid to show her softer side.
The author also tackles more serious themes with impressive tact. The challenges Daisy's family faces due to their death-related business add a layer of depth to the story that I really appreciated. It's not often you find a romance that balances light-hearted moments with such thoughtful exploration of societal prejudices.
The secondary characters are far from just background noise. They're well-developed and add richness to the story. I particularly loved Daisy's brother - his storyline has me intrigued. Fingers crossed he gets his own book!
Wolf's writing style is engaging and flows beautifully. She has a knack for descriptive passages that really bring the scenes to life without bogging down the pacing. The slow burn of the romance is perfectly executed - the tension builds so naturally that when it finally breaks, it's absolutely satisfying.
In summary, if you're looking for a romance novel that'll make you laugh, sigh, and maybe shed a tear (the good kind), I wholeheartedly recommend "Not So Truly Mine". It's a fun, touching, and thoughtful read that left me with a smile on my face and a warm feeling in my heart.
It's rare to find a book that balances humor, heart, and heat so well, but Julia Wolf has nailed it. I'm definitely going to be checking out her other works. This one's going straight to my re-read pile!
What do you think? I hope other readers enjoy it as much as I did.
Oh my heart! This book is pure and utter sunshine. I think Miles Aldrich is the brightest male character I have ever read. He is so happy, so content, has no filter and is so kind and fun loving. He lights up every room he is in and takes care of the people around him. He has ADHD and it just adds to his character so much!
His bright heart completely steals Daisy's darker heart. I love how they meet. He is helping out in a bar to help out his friend Nick. Daisy has a deal with Nick that she can sell her cupcakes and meat cakes to the customers. When she bursts in Miles thinks she is a customer. And when he spots a box with delicious treats. He eats six or seven of them. And she slaps him the bill right before she leaves. I grinned together with Miles.
Miles gives her some business advice and she takes it. She ends up listening to a friend and decides to make her business a professional one. She goes to a company that can help her launch her own. Not knowing that Miles works there as well. They end up working together and later on they start a fake relationship to help her out with her business and that is what kickstarts the story.
I just adore Daisy and her family that owns a funeral home. They are a kind and such a tight knit family. And I loved her little brother Reed's storyline so much. That part was one of the hearts of the story. And the ending was so emotional. I felt for Miles and his struggles with his own family as well. And Weston's character arc was really enjoyable to read as well.
I just love that this is one of the few books where the two main characters truly form a friendship first before they'll start a romantic one. I love how making each other laugh was the most important thing between them. And I loved that the love scenes were detailed but not overly detailed. This book truly was about their bond. Their bond with Reed and how to help one another and move forward.
Yeah I really, really love how bubbly and happy and shiny it was. 5 big stars from me for this loving story!
“They might’ve always been real, but recently, I seem to have fallen hopefully in love with you.”
“Hopelessly?”
“No, I said it right. Being in love with you is all about hope. Hope you might feel a fraction of what I feel for you. Hope you’ll be ready to love me back one day. Hope I can keep you when this agreement is over. Hope I am worthy of you. Hope I don’t screw things up.”
OH. MY. GOD. THIS is what I was looking for when I said give me ROMANCE. 👏🏾❤️
The prefect end to the series. Do you know how good it’s got to be that the side character’s book ended up being my favourite? Weston’s annoying little brother stealing the show? Wow.
There is: fake dating, reverse grumpy(ish)/sunshine, an only one bed scene and ADHD representation.
Review below:
We start off introduced to Daisy, who’s trying to pick herself up after a rough breakup. Daisy works at a speak easy type of bar but not as a barmaid. Nope! She sells mini cup cakes and little charcuterie cups. Anyway, it’s her first night back to selling cakes after a month off due to feeling low after breaking up with the guy she was with for 7 years. Miles is working on the bar that night as a favour to his ‘friend’ (I use that term VERY loosely) Nick. Miles had no idea who Daisy was or if she was allowed behind the bar…he saw her cupcakes though and ended up eating (stealing) 6 of them 🤣😭. Daisy, our tiny grumpy gothic babe was not impressed. PERFECT meet cue if you ask me 😂👏🏾💗🥹.
I don’t want to go into too much detail about the fake dating and how Miles ends up helping her build her business. I want to talk about these really beautiful characters who stole my heart!!!
For those who read these books from the beginning, you’ll know Miles had a rough start with the drinking and partying. After the ending of book three (can’t spoil), I knew he was going to do well. This book starts off with him almost a year sober* and two years into his business planning company🥹💗. He’s still ridiculously giddy and was the perfect sunshine character with all the jokes and banter. *TW Alcoholism and sobriety.
Daisy. Daisy. Daisy. Okay I LOVE the grumpy woman trope when done well. I think I liked it cause she was grumpy but not mean. She tolerated Miles when he was annoying and at times just ended up encouraging him and laughing 😂. Daisy and her family went through a lot, and with all their struggles, they stayed together and welcomed everybody they met.
Daisy and Miles together was perfect. When the banter is right?! YES. And they were surprisingly just plain old sweet ➡️ “Do you want me there?” “Uh, yeah. Everything’s more fun with you around.” 🥹
There’s actually too much I want to say. I could write a whole separate review on Daisy’s fourteen year old brother Reed alone. His story moved me so much, and I am so grateful for how it ended with him, Miles and Daisy. I cannot even tell you how much I cried reading that scene. TWs - bullying, depression, suicidal thoughts and off page death of a sibling. No spoilers but they dealt with Reed exactly how I had hoped.
Only complaint - Weston was kind of a shit brother. So glad he recognised it and we got those moments between him and Miles. Miles deserved so much more but it’s a start.
The epilogue was the definition of healing. This whole story was just a whole lot of healing and love. I loved it. Okay bye.
———————————————————————— Miles’ redemption story is here guys 🥹 please let this be what I hoped! 🤞🏾
I love how unique each of Julia Wolf's stories are. Each time I open my Kindle to one, I never quite no what I'm in for. That makes for such a great reading experience.
That means that Miles Aldrich was not what I expected. Yes, he was sweet and earnest and a lot of what I was hoping for. He's made a lot of changes and his business has really taken off. Not everyone wants to acknowledge his changing, but that's fine with him. He'll prove himself.
We also have Daisy who make look like a storm cloud but she bakes like a dream. She is hesitant about starting her own business and even more hesitant to trust Miles, when they don't get off to the best start.
Miles knows his stuff and as they jump into making her dream come to life, they spend more and more time together. Even to the point of fake dating to boost her social capital. Cause, yeah, Daisy's family run a funeral home.. and their name is known in the area. Which has caused her problems her whole life.
I just loved seeing Miles with her family and seeing Daisy with his family and friends. They seem like such a good fit, the only problem is if they can make themselves see it too. They almost broke my heart a few times. They are just SO CUTE together.
Julia's books just make me feel SO MUCH. My heart was aching a few times and soaring at others. I really loved the journey they went on and the choices they made to elevate not only their lives but those they care about. Just beautiful.
This series has been an absolute joy for me. I think Julia Wolf is so talented and I hope she gets the attention her books deserve.
Not So Truly Yours is the highly anticipated end of ‘The Harder They Fall Series’. I have been waiting for Miles's book and couldn’t wait to see the woman who would capture his heart. Daisy was a delight. On the outside, she was the black cat to his golden retriever, but she truly had a heart of gold. I loved watching her with her family and especially with her brother Reid. It was great that Miles had someone to support and stand up for him/with him. As sad as I am these books are over, because I love this group, I’m happy it ended on such a high note!
ETA: I just skipped towards the end and spoiled some things for myself (yes, after DNFing lolz) and WHEW *takes a deep breath* Miss Daisy…I am so sorry for underestimating you. What you did was COLD. And I loved it. You did kinda sorta make the man pay for the way he acted🫣 It’s probably wretched that I felt SO satisfied in the moment but whatever. I can now sleep in peace😂
Yk what? I was really ready to give this book a chance despite Miles pissing me off more and more in each chapter. But then we got to a point where I was like ‘hmm..ya know what? I think I’m starting to like him and might be able to let go of the things that annoyed me about him.’ Silly old me😀 Everything was going well and this stupid fucking man decides to ghost Daisy just because he thinks that they’re getting close when it’s only supposed to be a temporary fake dating arrangement makes me MADDDDD😡 And then the cherry on top of the cake??? Daisy forgives him. Just like that. Girl WHY?!?!? I was rooting for you😭 MAKE THAT MAN WORK FOR IT FFS. If I’m being honest, the only reason that I was gonna finish this book was Daisy but apparently even she wasn’t enough for me to complete it lmao. Idky but ghosting by the MMC just pisses me tf off in books. Like man the fuck up and idk communicate like an adult??? But I digress.
The Aldrich brothers are terrible overall. Weston should’ve died in book 1 - he’s a waste of space tbh - and Miles just gets on my nerves. Also his crush on Elise in HS? OH HELL NAH. That tidbit of info made my eye twitch🥴 The highlight of this book was DEFINITELY seeing my man Elliot (and obv Kit and Joey)🥹 GAAAAHHH NO ONE COMPARES TO THEM AJSKSKSKSSK😩 Daisy was a pretty great character too and I did like the fact that she wasn’t some innocent virgin and had been in love before so there’s that ig. As for Miles…I was getting vibes that he used to be a hoe but I can’t remember for sure since it’s been YEARS since I read the first book in this series. No OW drama/cheating in the book as far as I know, just some OM drama but nothing major (her ex tries to talk to her and tries to get her to understand why he’s marrying a new girl but didn’t wanna marry her despite being in a relationship for 7 fuckin years. Another piece of shit, why am I not surprised?) Anyways, hope you enjoyed my long ass rant😂 And apologies for not being so active here…moving abroad and grad school have been kicking my butt lmao💀
This was okay, and I enjoyed the found family and Miles' character arc. Tbh, I didn't have high hopes for him because of his behavior in the previous books, but he did surprise me with his 180. 🤭
I liked Miles and Daisy together; they're sweet and thoughtful with each other, even if they were on their fake dating phase. She was wary in the beginning, which was understandable. And he's the happy guy who always looks at the bright side of everything. I have to admit that it was a struggle to get through the first half of this book. I can't feel any chemistry between them, and their banter was sure funny at times yet also felt forced in some scenes. 🤷♀️ Later on in the second half, things picked up a bit, so I'm glad I kept going.
While I did appreciate that there's no real drama here, it took me quite a while to believe that Daisy had really moved on from her ex, but I was eventually convinced that she had finally realized she was over him. However, during those times she was figuring out her feelings, I felt sad for Miles, thinking he was falling for her, but she was still hung up on someone else. The constant miscommunication and wrong assumptions between them were something I'm not a fan of. Then, reading about the time jumps that would pass because they couldn't communicate made me want to give them a hard shake. 🤦♀️
Even in the second half of the story, there were parts that felt dragging, but the last 25% kind of made up for these underwhelming aspects. They were so adorable when they finally admitted their feelings and decided to finally give their "fake" relationship a real shot.
I love how Daisy's family is so welcoming of Miles and that they accept him wholeheartedly and without judgment. I love how the FMCs from the first three books embraced Daisy in their circle and how supportive they are of her and her business. I just really love how the family and friends of these two are so accommodating.
Welp, I take that back. I still don't like Weston, not from his own book, not even at this one. He's an awful brother. It made me like him less that he only saw Miles' effort almost at the end of the book. 😤
Also, I love Miles and Reed's relationship. The way Miles stood up to become a role model for Reed and to help him deal with his problems was heartwarming to read. Their situation might have been different when Miles was that age, but I'm happy to see him help Reed navigate this phase with so much understanding and patience. And I love that Reed opened up to him and accepted his brotherly advice. How Miles ended up becoming a good brother to Reed when he had an awful one was so beyond me, but it made me incredibly proud of him. 🥹
Overall, this was still an enjoyable read. Despite the miscommunication and some dragging parts, Miles transformation and Daisy's gaining her confidence were actually worth reading. Readers just have to stick with it before the story gets better, and the ending was satisfying and worth the wait. 💖
Book info: - Fake dating - Loss of loved one (past) - Depression - Grief - Alcoholism and recovery - Bullying - Grumpy (h) x sunshine (H) - No cheating, OPD, breakup - No Vs - Foot fetish 😶 (to each their own, I suppose) - Toxic parents - HEA (3 years later, married and pregnant)
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
We come to the baby of the friend group, the wild guy life of the party. Throughout the series Miles has been there, brother to Weston he's the good time guy getting drunk having fun making people laugh. We learned he was a bully to Elise in high school and did a ton of dumb shit so honestly I didn't have high hopes for Miles.....now
Miles has turned his life around, a successful business partner and now sober he's on his own path. Filling in for a friend led him to meeting Daisy Daisy Dunham has had her own share of struggles, her last name has been a burden to her and her siblings their entire lives. Recently out of a breakup Daisy meets Miles and suddenly her entire life changes
******* Omg I loved this! Loved!!!!!!!!! Miles was so good he made my bbf shelf ❤️, I loved his growth, his struggles and just the way he loved Daisy.. his relationship with Reed was really one of my favourite parts of this as well I will say that there were moments in the middle there where I wanted to snack them both upside the head for not communicating but eh Really good sexy times I've got nothing else tbh this book put me in a really happy place and I can't wait for more from this author
No cheating H was a manwhore, drunk and a bully in his previous years but he's 100% perfection now and no Miles slander will be tolerated Daisy is recently out of a relationship Some OM drama His mother needed a little bitch slapping
*****No third act breakup!!!!! I was literally holding my breath and watching my age count 😂 kudos to you author please continue
Okay, so this book was good BUT there indeed was a "but."
Miles character was so good, I loved getting to know him and his character development was good. He indeed did win my heart over BUT how dare Wolf give him a foot fetish.
After that discovery, I simply couldn't tolerate it. Not to ick on anyone's yum but damn I could not take the whole foot thing seriously, why not give him any kink but that one.
Daisy was also a really great FMC, I love grumpy fmc's and sunshine mmc's because their dynamic is so intruging and this book served exactly that.
I enjoyed that this was a friends to lovers mixed with the fake dating trope. The friendship aspect allowed a lot of relationship buildup which I enjoyed.
Miles nicknames for Daisy were so cute, and I am so happy that he has someone in his life that supports him and his recovery.
Overall a pretty great book, this would have been a 4 star but the foot thing really threw me off.
Golden retriever sunshine hero with grumpy black cat heroine.
This was incredible!
Miles is sober for the first time in his life and he meets Daisy when he's helping out a friend. They are both not in the right mind space to date, but they do like each other and think the other is attractive. Through a series of chance meetings, Miles ends up consulting for Daisy and they become friends. And he suggests a fake dating relationship so he can help her make the right contacts for her business.
Now... this description doesn't do this book justice. This was such a lovely story of two amazing and lovely human beings just enjoying the crap out of each other and cheering each other on. I loved the mutual admiration and how they encouraged each other in the way that person needed.
While Miles' parents are crap, his brother is great and he has some good friends. However, he needed a friend like Daisy. Daisy has an amazing family that is so loving... but they've dealt with some dark stuff.
This book had such a satisfying growth arc for not only their relationship with each other, but their relationships with family. The sibling love was STRONG in this one. And it was so cool to see Miles befriend Daisy's teenage brother, who really needed that.
I cried and felt warm glowing happiness. Highly recommend
Safety deets - No other men. Daisy has an ex and there's some interaction with him and there's a dude that wants her that causes some drama but she doesn't want him. - No other women. Miles used to be a manwhore when he was drinking, but he's been sober and celibate for a while. - Beautiful happily ever after with a glimpse of them 3 years later. I can't tell you cause there are spoilers, but ugh, I loved them so much. - Sex without discussing disease or birth control... until after they're in the middle of the deed and there is a discussion of BC. - Trigger warnings for bullying, suicide/accidental death because of bullying. - ADHD hero. - They both are getting therapy and we get some good sayings from the hero's therapist. I love that he told Daisy that he loved her because he was remembering that his therapist said that it's okay if things aren't easy. He was scared to be vulnerable, but I'm so proud of him for telling her how he felt. - No third act breakup... though there is a 2 week cooling off where he tries to stay away from her for both of their sakes, but she confronts him and he apologizes. Thankfully, the end is just them prevailing together over and over against all sorts of crap and it was GREAT! The third act starts with him declaring his love and it just gets better and better until the end. - A little bit of foot fetishization and public sex.
Be still my heart! This book deserves all the stars.
I haven’t read a book in a while where the hero steals my heart from the first page itself. God, Miles was one of a kind hero! He was pure unadulterated sunshine with hidden vulnerability and secret pain. I’m so glad he found Daisy, who is hilariously his complete opposite- a total grump. Like he calls her, his little storm cloud (I love that nickname).
This book had amazing banter. I was constantly laughing. Also so many lovely secondary characters. The author was saying she initially wasn’t planning to give Miles a book but I’m so glad she did because this one, it’s a fantastic book.
-Fake dating, reverse sunshine x grumpy. -Billionaire but golden retriever Hero (he is a 💎). -Found family, hilarious, amazing banter. -KU, TW and safe.
4.5 rounded up!!! My thoughts are all over the place with this one so 😅🫣
🔥There MIGHT be spoilers so please read with caution 🔥
This entire series has just been banger after banger after banger with each book being better than the last. I knew that Miles’ story would get me in my feelings, but to be honest, the story was more about Daisy and her brother AND Miles and it was so fucking beautiful 😭😭😭😭
Lydia-Daisy-Cupcake and Miles Spreadsheet were the golden retriever/black cat duo I needed. I will say that in the beginning Daisy was kind of judgmental about Miles because of his last name and wealth which is ironic because of how people judged her family for their last name and running a funeral home but it was like a vicious cycle because the rich people were so rude to her and her family.
HER FAMILYYYYYY omg her mom was the absolute BEST and you never really get to read about moms being amazing and it made my heart happy that Miles got to experience it because his mom SUCKKKKKKKEDDDDD. Her little brother Reed was just 😢😢😢😢 he had me worried but Daisy and Miles really stepped for him when he needed them.
Now reading about Miles in the last three books, I was expecting a manwhore because he was a womanizer in all three previous stories but THIS Miles….he was a changed man. He really changed his life around for over the last year and it made me so proud.
Safety wise: This was so safe (i was kinda worried) Daisy had just gotten out of a long term relationship two months ago. No info was given on her last time but she said she has done the walk of shame in college and wasn’t ashamed of it so it’s inferred she has had a good sex life. Not much info on Miles either but I think it has been over a year for him because that’s when he stopped drinking and he said he doesn’t remember ever picking up women sober and that it was a long long time since he’s been laid. 🤗 No ow drama like AT ALL. There is SOME on drama with Daisy’s ex. She thought that she was going to marry him and be with him forever but he basically led her on with the promise of a future and then just dismissed her so she broke up with him and was really depressed about it. Her and Miles actually met the first night she went back to work after a two month sabbatical of depression. So Miles thought that she wasn’t over him but she realized that she was just comfortable with her ex and that she’s never been treated the way she was supposed to be aka how Miles treats her.
NOW FOR THE REASON THIS ISN’T A FULL FIVE STARS!!!! the foot fetish thing 🫣🫣🫣🫣 it took me by surprise and not to kink shame….but that’s not my thing. luckily it isn’t like a big thing but it was mentioned a few times and I don’t know if i hate it more than a daddy kink situation 🙂🙂🙂🙂 there also wasn’t any talk about safe sex though….they just raw dogged and after she said she was on birth control and that was that. which i would have liked if he had at least mentioned to her how long it’s been since he was such a player and she just got out of a serious relationship so like….it should have been mentioned
Sorry for the long review but even though no one can top Elliott……Miles is pretty much almost tied for my favorite (Weston is my least favorite and he still is even in this one until the end when he gets a little better) Thank you SO MUCH Julia for the ARC of this. I can’t wait to continue the journey 😭😭😭🫰🏻🫶🏻
I love how this hero right here is so thoughtful and always enjoy quality time together with the heroine. Even though that seems very small and just not a big of deal, but for me personally that is very refreshingly sweet and sooo romantic. Many other authors these days forget to write those type of things like quality time together of the couple and just small thoughtful things from the hero or the heroine, like that’s is completely RARE to be honest with you. If you think about it when you always read romance novel these days, you agreed with me. Because it is true…. Many other authors always focused more about the drama, the big problem and the big whole giant chaos to be more “dramatic” when they forgot that less is more tho… I mean i love a drama on a novel, but sometimes those things are not always for every day tho. Sometimes people like me for example, I don’t like to read drama romance all the time. Just like every once a week, not everyday tho. Because i think that is also healthy for your mind…
A light romance with less drama is very fun to read. LIKE THIS STORY RIGHT HERE is very light story, not too dramatic, and the whole book for me is very light story tho. You don’t have to think much when you read this book, all you can think about is the romance and the love. Easy to read and easy to get along with the whole romance story without feeling you want to slap the characters hahaha. And even the drama is more towards the people around them, not themselves tho. I was seriously surprised when i read the whole book like wow this is not too heavy for me to read, this is actually a light one and less drama which is amazing. IT IS LESS DRAMA BUT MORE OF THE SWEET ROMANCE YOU KNOW ~
So if you’re down for what i just write above then go for this one. And most importantly IT IS SAFE ALL THE WAY… SAFE 😍😍😍😍
What i mean about the thoughtful things that the characters do in this story which i find very very interesting and romantic: 1. (Before they’re dating and the hero is trying to get closer to the heroine but this is also before things get serious between them fyi) The hero bring korean fried chickens TO THE HEROINE AND FOR HER BROTHER at night and spending time hanging out with them. LIKE WOW SO THOUGHTFUL! 2. The hero always takes the heroine for a drive thru and they eat together at the car, AND HE MAKE SURE TO BUY MORE FOOD FOR THE HEROINE’S FAMILY TOO OR FOR HER BROTHER. AND THE DRIVE THRU SCENES HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE SO LIKE WOW 🥺🥺🥺 THIS IS SUPER RARE so i was smiling like an idiot when i read this! The best scene ever ~ 3. The hero welcomes and treat the heroine’s brother like his own. Seriously the way the hero always pay attention to her brother, start a conversation with him even when the brother at first was so awkward about it, start and pursue the friendship between them and making sure he is doing fine without judging him. Like wow ~ 4. The heroine and hero is very genuine people which is very amazing to see them like that. The way the heroine make sure to bring gifts for the hero’s friends and brother when they first meet up… The hero helping the heroine with her business and this is before they’re dating! Or serious! He even offered to go to her house and helped her with things…. 5. The way the hero always wants to talk to the heroine and just having conversations about everything. They talked and laugh and share things together. Which is so romantic 🥺🥺 mm
Overall this book is worth to read. I enjoyed every moment of reading this book and i don’t need to worry much about it ~ It’s not boring at all…
And nope I don’t get paid or receive ARC from this author. This is my genuine review. If it’s a ARC, i will of course tell you!
“Being in love with you is all about hope. Hope you might feel a fraction of what I feel for you. Hope you’ll be ready to love me back one day. Hope I can keep you when this agreement is over. Hope I am worthy of you. Hope I don’t screw things up.”
‼️‼️‼️SAFE ROMANTIC HOT LOVE STORY.
It’s a slow burn not too slow… And not boring.
AND EVEN THO IT’S A SLOW BURN, IT IS VERY SAFE… And also the connection between them is very sweet, and the way they started the relationship by being friends cause the heroine is the new client. It was very sweet and romantic to see them getting to know each other… The way the hero always pursue the heroine… No one else was in the middle between them so it was nice to see that, very safe.
‼️‼️‼️NO CHEATING.
‼️‼️‼️TRIGGERS: bullying but it’s from her brother story, ADHD, death and little violence.
‼️‼️‼️NO VIRGINS…
But both have been celibate in quite some time…
‼️‼️‼️THE CONNECTION AND THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THIS COUPLE RIGHT HERE IS FREAKIN ROMANTIC 🔥🔥🔥🔥💓💓
‼️‼️‼️The hero not too over the top possessive alpha male tho… He just little possessive but not too much. Which is okay tho because the way he is with the heroine and his big efforts for her is amazing… He is very protective, i love that he immediately just know from the heroine’s face if something is wrong or something happened. He is definitely a millionaire too. Masculinity ✅
He used to be manwhor3 he said… But his closest friends and even his own brother never talked about it. So that was nice to see… Cause i hate scenes where the friends is saying the hero’s past with other people to the heroine. So thankfully there’s no scene of them speaking to her about it!
He is so thoughtful man, very gentleman like he is amazing with being such a gentleman to the heroine and even to anyone. He always touch the heroine even before things are heating up between them, he make sure touch her somehow in any chances he can!
‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE is such a great baker. She loves to make great cupcakes and food. She is also thoughtful person like the hero and very genuine person as well with genuine intentions like the hero 🫶🏽🫶🏽 The heroine is very smart wise woman, i love that she have an amazing family with her and close with her 😍
‼️‼️‼️IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT FOR THE HERO… but not for the heroine but then she love him anyway…
I love it when the hero is the first one who made the move and love the woman first 😋😋
‼️‼️‼️IT HAD EX BOYFRIEND SHOWS UP LIKE TWICE… But not too much and not too annoying either. It was her ex tho. Also when he showed up the heroine is already over him just in case you’re wondering ~ THE HERO NEVER EVER HAVE ANY EX GIRLFRIEND OR EX FVCK BUDDY EVER SHOWS UP… So it’s safe from the hero side which is amazing. Cause OW appearance scene are usually annoying 😤😅😆😆
‼️‼️‼️NO SEPARATION.
‼️‼️‼️THE HERO AGAIN is not too possessive tho… BUT HE WANTS THE HEROINE SOOOO VERY BADLY… He became very obsessed with her cupcake at first and her in person 😍😍 The way he showed up for her, takes care of her and will do anything for her is very totally romantic! Words of affirmation ✅ Physical touch ✅ Princess treatment ✅ And not only once he do all of that! Many times! So it safe to say that this hero is freakin obsessed with the heroine like all the time… I love that he will do anything to make the heroine happy ❤️❤️❤️ he even called her a cute nickname when they weren’t even dating yet and i think that was so cute 😜 and he knows the heroine so well so if she’s having a bad day just by her face, he immediately know and needs answers…
“With anyone else, I wouldn’t have minded being used in such a way, but this was Daisy. For her, in a different world, we’d have more than one night together. For me, if conditions favored us, I’d have all my nights with her.”
“Right girl. Right time. Right place. Stars and circumstances had aligned for us. Maybe I was overly confident, but I was almost sure they were going to keep aligning. As long as we both wanted this as much as we did today.”
🥺🥺
“What? My girlfriend is here for a surprise visit?” He shot out of his seat and bounded straight for me. He stopped mid-spin and stared at me. “You brought me my girlfriend and food? Fuck, Cupcake, I’ve fallen in love with you all over again.” “You’re very easy to please.” “Only you hold the key. Is this going to be a thing now? Are you going to appear out of nowhere and brighten my lonely days?” 😆😆
‼️‼️‼️THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THEM IS FREAKIN ROMANTIC. You can definitely feel it!!!! 💓💓💓💓
‼️‼️‼️NO DRAMA WITH OW. Only with the om and family drama… All the drama is not annoying at all and not too much ~
‼️‼️‼️They talked about the past but only twice from the heroine and the hero never have a serious relationship before so he didn’t talked much about that. He mostly talked about his problems that’s in him…
And when they talked about the past things, mostly are family and inner things related. Not too deep tho ~
‼️‼️‼️NO MEAN FRIENDS. NO BULLYING. NOOOO STRIP CLUB.
‼️‼️‼️NOT MANY JEALOUS SCENES FROM BOTH… Only few times from the hero and none from the heroine.
I’m not gonna write the quotes here because it was just so little jealous scene and i think it’s unnecessary tho… Because even tho i like it when the hero have so many jealous scenes, and this hero right here doesn’t have many of that. I’m okay with that. because again, i like the chemistry more and how the hero is so genuine thoughtful person 😚
‼️‼️‼️And yes the s3x scenes is freakin hot 🔥 I love the way the hero always loves to worship the heroine’s body and became very obsessed with every part of her 🫶🏽🫶🏽
‼️‼️‼️Happy ending.
Married and pregnant.
👻 One of the reason why I didn’t give this book 5 stars and only four. Because they started with fake dating. Even though throughout the whole thing both of them are loyal and safe, i still don’t like it. It takes too long for them to be in a fake dating relationship and then the hero realizes then finally asked the heroine to be his gf. I like it when the hero ask the heroine like in the middle of the story or early. Not too long!!! So yeah that was down-stars for me. So it’s four!
⚡️⚡️⚡️THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING MY REVIEW. Even if you hate my review i still say thank you so much cause you spend your time reading this one👻 I’m not a professional reviewer or professional reader. I’m just someone who likes to read novels that is safe and no cheating whatsoever. And many more that i like lol😆 I DID NOT GET PAID TO DO THIS. This is just basically me writing my review based on my personal opinion about the book if it’s safe or what I will write it all down just the way i like it 😏 I know my review can be very straightforward with the way i write it down all of it and not a professional writing because again I’m not professional reviewer anyway. And whatever negativity you might think of what i write or what my thoughts are on my review about a book, me and you are not the same person. I have my own types of book and you have your own. You have your own thoughts and same with me. You can’t control what I should write on my review and neither should I. I WILL NOT TOLERATE NEGATIVE COMMENT AND I WON’T EVER REPLIED TO IT. If you still don’t like what i write and my disclaimer here, IT’S A YOU PROBLEM. NOT MINE😙 HAVE A GREAT DAY❤️❤️❤️
Types of book that I’m looking for: SAFE, safe all the way from the beginning till the end🥵 No cheating, no unnecessary childish drama. Not too much OW DRAMA cause they are loud and annoying lol. NO to still having feelings about a ex especially wants go get back together tf no. NO to friends with benefits and still seeing other people type of sh*t. NO to hero or heroine who said i love you and have been obsessed but still likes to fvck around yeah big NO to that sh*t. NOOO to still married or still in a relationship with someone else while liking the main character, yeah they have to be single since the beginning. NOOO to a long separation and have someone else they have s3x with during the separation. NOO to too many times of separation and breaking up sh*t. NOO to toxic narcissistic characters. I preferred the characters are loyal to the core, over the top possessive heroes since the beginning and never stops, main characters have unique jobs or talents, the hero adores and obsessed with the heroine so much, the hero fell harder for the heroine and don’t want let her go and fight for her. And most importantly EPILOGUE AND ESPECIALLY THE DECADES LATER SCENE…. HAPPY ENDING IS A MUST. Chemistry is a must too 🙏🏼
"My brain was still catching up that she was mine, but my heart knew."
First of all, the blurb is not very accurate. There are only a few hours between "meeting" 1 and 2, and Daisy doesn't even know that Miles is a billionaire when she charges him for the cupcakes. Also, she doesn't become his fake girlfriend after the first business meeting with him, but later on. Well, so be it.
The whole plot with the fake girlfriend is not very realistic and also not very well thought out. It's about Daisy fearing she won't get her catering service (charcuterie boards) up and running because she's the daughter of the local mortician. Business planner Miles thinks people will overlook this fact if Daisy is with him. That's questionable in itself, but on top of that, the relationship is only supposed to last a few months, and I wonder – what will happen after that? Will Miles’ name rub off on Daisy forever? Okay, this is a romance novel, so let's not get too carried away with the logic and details. ;)
Daisy and Miles are very cute together, and their relationship doesn't feel fake for one second. That's why I couldn't figure out what was going on in Miles' mind when he backed out of the friendship/relationship after a wonderful weekend in the mountains, not realizing he was hurting Daisy. Fortunately, straight Daisy speaks her mind and the two get back on track. Overall, I always find it difficult when two protagonists are totally blind and claim to be in a fake relationship, even though it's quite clear that nothing about it is fake.
Daisy is a likable heroine, rather serious, caring and loyal. Why she is repeatedly called "grumpy" is beyond me. She's not as exuberant as Miles and sometimes a bit pessimistic and cautious, but not grumpy at all.
And Miles ... aww, Miles. He had a difficult childhood in a loveless home that left its mark, has ADHD, used to be a player and an alcoholic. At the beginning of the book, it's been nine months since he got sober and turned his life around. He's thoughtful, sensitive, loving, and loyal. He's also totally cute with Daisy's teenage brother who's being bullied at school. Miles would be the perfect hero (despite minor flaws) if it weren't for his foot fetish! Really, I can tolerate most kinks, but this is a total no-go for me. Yuck.
I think I'll still read book 1 of the series, Miles' brother Weston's book. Hopefully I'll meet Miles there.
Oh Miles (H), he was the sweetest, fidgety, caring, golden retriever and I adored him. I skipped the first two books in this series so I didn't get to see his growth in terms of how he acted before he buckled down to better himself, but I enjoyed him in the last book and you do get a nice sense of all the effort he's put in and the changes that he's made to be the best version of himself in this story. I loved how self-aware Miles was in what he needed, even when he was scared to ask for that or he put others' needs above his own. I was a little broken-hearted over his backstory and his family dynamics, specifically the complicated brotherly relationship that was going on. I felt Miles deserved better and certainly earlier on. I loved him.
Daisy (h) was a harder sell for me personally. She does have some black cat energy to off-set Miles, which is a contrast I usually eat up. She also kind of felt all over the place for me though and even with all we learn about her, her family, her dreams, and some of her challenges, she felt less certain to me. Maybe because she's wary, possibly since she had several worries and life-altering changes occurring, or perhaps she just wasn't the right FMC for my taste, and that'd be ok. I also didn't love the premise of her family's career having such a negative impact. I've never known anyone in that specific circumstance so it's hard to say definitively that it was unrealistic, but I was baffled at the negativity thrown around because of it. I guess the bottom line is I struggled relating to Daisy, but I still admired her creativity, the love she had for her family and esp her youngest sibling, and I enthusiastically appreciated how she SAW Miles.
The story is character-driven with a fake relationship plot line that ultimately ended up feeling kinda weak to me because of reasons as their situation unfolds. But Miles is helping Daisy with a business idea. There are also a couple of side plots involving Daisy's sibling, Miles's family, and a couple of bumps tossed along their will they/won't they turn their relationship real. I struggled a bit to get into the start of the book, but did find myself enjoying it more as I went along.
Written in first person, dual POV. No ow drama, small amount of om drama due to h's ex making an appearance (neither wants the other back but H thinks she's not over him) and also when an om who's interested in h creates some drama. Both mains are experienced though h had only been with her ex (who she was with for 7 years) and H used to hook up a lot but appeared to have been celibate for some time amongst his other lifestyle changes.
Miles was a giver to his core and this includes steamy times. There are a few explicit scenes and they run the gamut from feeling very intimate to a bout of public sex where they could get caught. Miles does like feet and there are a couple scenes where he admires and gets up close and personal with Daisy's. Thank you to Jen for that warning because I am truly freaked out by feet so I knew and skipped on ahead (not to make anyone feel bad who enjoys those scenes, just not my jam). But there was also cock warming for those that seek those scenes out.
The side characters were excellent, some that were new and others from earlier in the series. Elliot, Kit, and Joey made my heart extra happy. Miles's relationships in general with the ladies in the group were awesome. I wish that his brother had more positive moments one-on-one. I did love Miles's relationship with Daisy's brother however, it was special and his pursuit of that relationship was precious. Oh and there eventually is a cute animal sidekick and I melted!
I was proud of these two when they finally had the talk about making their relationship un-fake. I also loved how they supported each other. The climax of the book involved one of the side plots that I wasn't as in love with and while the ending was very emotionally wrought and loving, I didn't love the way it all played out per se and how things connected. I think I needed something more on page, like with Miles's mom or Daisy's family, something was missing for me. I did love the epilogue that's a few years later where they're married, expecting a baby, and have all the good things happening.
I have been dying for Miles’s story since book one, and it was so worth the wait. Daisy and Miles were seriously so perfect and sweet together. This story was a lot of fun, heck this whole series was a lot of fun. Julia knows how to write a story that grabs your attention and keeps it until the very end.
The first 20% or so I was not sure how I was feeling about this book. The banter came off a little immature and the golden retriever MMC is not my favourite to read about. But I’m so glad I kept going. It really found its stride after a bit and I was hooked. It is so amazing how Julia Wolf can make what seems to be a simple plot, into something so interesting with a lot of depth. It still had the light hearted, fun feel to it but it also had so much more. I really enjoyed having this book that felt like a big hug to read today. I’m really looking forward to her next series and learning more about this man causing Bea trouble!
Such a great story that pulled on ALL the heartstrings! I love a good grumpy heroine and Daisy is about as salty as they come, lol. Miles’ golden retriever energy makes a great complement that adds the perfect amount of fireworks to their interactions, while completely breaking her down. I cannot say how much I’ve loved seeing Miles growth in this series to make him into the swoon worthy’s MMC he is today. Loved it!

The characters were as dull as sandpaper, and the side characters somehow managed to be even worse. There was no plot twist or anything to keep me interested, and the lack of chemistry between the leads was painfully obvious. If they were a real couple, they wouldn't have lasted a week. The "fake dating" aspect felt so forced, it’s clear the author just shoehorned it in to tick a box. Honestly, they didn’t even need to fake date, it was all just a flimsy excuse to use an overplayed trope. The entire thing reeked of desperation.
Oh and I forgot the most important part! He has a foot fetish 🤢
Chapter twenty two: I leaned in and pressed my lips to the ball of her foot.
Chapter twenty two again: Looking at her straight in the eye, I kissed her foot again.
If a man started kissing my feet, I wouldn’t hesitate to kick him in the face. Did the author seriously think this was supposed to be attractive? It’s not romantic it’s just downright cringe.
This is really the last time I’m going to take book recommendations from booktok BookTok has really gone downhill what happened? It used to be about discovering hidden gems and discussing genuinely good books. Now, it’s flooded with overhyped titles that barely deliver. It feels like the focus has shifted from quality storytelling to whatever trend will get the most likes.
I’m starting to think this author peaked with Elliot’s book. The more I read her recent releases the more I think it just got progressively bad.
P.S. You’re Intolerable remains one of my top books so I can’t just give this author up 😩. That’s the chokehold daddy Elliott and mama Cat and baby Joey have on me. To the point I’m looking forward to their scenes in this book more than the characters cuz Miles pissed me off so bad. I hope in the next releases she’ll unleash her ghostwriter or something.
🥇 Elliot Levy 🥇 no estés celoso bebe tu siempre S I E M P R E serás mi favorito 🥹💗
“Seven years couldn’t touch what had been created in this handful of months. To be seen, known, accepted, loved so dearly, was not something that came along more than once in a lifetime. We had it. We shared it. And I would protect it like a flame in the wind.”
This is the final book in the series that I anticipated the most. I've liked Miles since the first book, despite his past mistakes with Elise. His sincere apology and struggle to deal with his awful parents make him relatable. When he is helping a friend bartend at a bar, he meets Daisy, and their story begins.
Miles stands out from other MMCs in the series; he's charming, easygoing, and kind-hearted. Though seen as a troublemaker, he’s been trying to change, going to therapy, and staying sober for almost a year. But no one believes his transformation until Daisy enters his life. Daisy dreams of starting a cupcake business but is hesitant due to her family's background. After encouragement from her family, she decides to pursue her passion and seeks help from a professional company, unaware that Miles works there. He offers to be her fake boyfriend to help her business succeed.
What I adore about this book is the friendship between Miles and Daisy! They start as strangers and evolve into business acquaintances, friends, and eventually lovers. Their relationship blooms in such a lovely, natural way. I loved seeing how they support and uplift each other; it’s clear they understand one another. Plus, there’s no miscommunication or third-act breakup—thank goodness! Their connections with family and friends add a heartwarming touch. The theme of this book dives deeper than the previous ones, especially with Reed, Daisy’s brother, playing a significant role. It feels like the focus shifts more to the bonds between the main characters and their loved ones, which I appreciated. And the ending? So satisfying! I was thrilled to see everyone, including Reed, get their happy ending.
After reading through the series, I must say that while Elliot remains my favorite MMC. However, Miles and Daisy are my top couple. Their story strikes a wonderful balance between lighter and more serious themes, making their relationship feel the most genuine and authentic of all. If you enjoy billionaire romance, you need to check this series out!
“All the weight she carried rolled off her shoulders as they shook with her giggles. I mentally added a new goal to my objective with Daisy: make her laugh like that as many times as I could before the end of our agreement.”
Oh my, I have loved watching Miles character grow and develop over the last three book and now we get to read his own story.
Miles and Daisy are just meant to be. Perfect for each other if only they can both get past their reluctant selves.
As usual Julia Wolf took me on a journey through my emotions with this book, but it has left me with a warm and fuzzy feeling that I love ...... and the promise of more books to come in a new series.
