I feel gutted that maybe this is the last book, but I will check in a minute. I have had to put a timer on myself so I can make something to eat, and then remember to eat it !!! WHY ?? Dead easy I needed to get back to the book and realising that housework is a proper job, do some dusting. When really all I wanted was to curl up on the sofa and read. To anyone who has picked this book up and not read the other 14 I beg you to start with book one. I promise you will never regret it. It's been a joy and a privilege to read this series, so I will have a coffee and start on the Bearings books next. M.K. Turner, thank you thank you thank you for making my life more enjoyable😍😘
The 15th book in the Meredith and Hodge series. Well written with characters you can relate to. It’s so lovely how Meredith is with his new grandchildren the author has definitely shown his soft side wonderfully. Love the humour that’s mixed with gripping twists and turns. Each time I think the last book in the series is my favourite MK Turner delivers another cracker.so yes this one is my favourite so far and I’m looking forward to the next instalment in this great series.
I couldn't get enough of Enough! Another great book in the Meredith and Hodge series. This time Meredith and Co have their work cut out delving into the world of politics as they believe a serial killer is at loose. All our favourite characters are in there (including 2 newcomers 😉). I had to stay up very late to finish this book as the ending is unputdownable!!
As always M K Turner never disappoints. Another one I couldn’t put down. Now the wait is on for the next one, I would just like to say hurry up. A must read.
Great book. Really enjoyed the group’s interactions, it was like revisiting old friends. The only downside for me was the trip through the paperwork was tedious.
I really enjoyed writing this book, although I really wasn't sure how it would end. And now it has. Was it Enough? or is there still unfinished business?
DCI Meredith and his wife, Patsy Hodge, are part of a cold case team working on the killings of young women who are found with their corpses decorated with a strange symbol. The symbol leads them to four solid suspects, each with connections to highly placed politicians, and each of whom are alibied by the others. Meredith’s relentless brilliance and Patsy’s intuititive policing, supported by a tight-knit team of fellow officers have to winnow through the chaff to find out who dunnit and stop them from doing it again.
I so love this series. Meredith was probably my first “book boyfriend.” He’s smart and dogged and doesn’t suffer fools gladly. He will pursue a lead wherever it leads, and no matter who it leads to, or how high they are. He values justice above all else. Patsy is an excellent officer, and the kind of person I’d like to hang out with. The supporting characters could stand alone on their own. The plots are always current and action-packed, but there’s also a nice balance of homelife. In this book, Meredith’s daughter gives birth to twins. He’s still irascible, but the babies have brought out a warm and tender side to him. It’s almost like he knows he’s getting a second chance to right some wrongs and he’s not going to pass that opportunity by. It’s nice to see him mellow without going all soft and gooey. I have one tiny quibble – the name of one of the characters, Trump. It throws me every time I read it, but I have to remind myself the name was chosen long before anything else that happened. Other than that I’m always happy to see a new Meredith and Hodge, because I know I’ll be thoroughly entertained and engaged and satisfied by the outcome.
These books can be read out of order, as the author does a good job of filling in the backstory without weighing down the current book, but I prefer them in order. I’ve enjoyed watching the characters grow and change through the books. It’s like spending time with old friends who lead much more exciting lives than I.
Bravo MK Turner and Kudos once again to Lee Beddow for a stellar audio presentation of Enough Meredith and Hodge #15. I have listened to all of this series and am continually amazed at the depth of the relationships, the growth and yet cohesive group these many personalities have created. There are so many levels of activity in this novel that each chapter just allowed me to go deeper into the crime and personal adventures of all involved. The angst is so flexing, page turning is great description even though I listened to this book. The amazing thing about all of the Meredith and Hodge novels is that even in the darkness of crime solving the love and humor of the folks involved in the journey is evident and an important component of what makes this series so wonderful and a go to when I need a listen that engages me and reminds me in this crazy world there are (even in believable fiction) great and honorable folks. I am so grateful each time I get the opportunity to listen to and share my experience with a new MK Turner Meredith and Hodge crime novel....because they are always so much more than a crime novel. Each book could be read as a stand alone but the overall personal lives and relationships are easier to navigate and appreciate if you start at one and from there you will want to read each book to see what occurs in each subsequent adventure. At least that has been my experience. I am hoping that this series is unable to find an end point.
As I always prefer the Audible edition of the books in this series it was a very long wait for me, from the Kindle & paperback editions in January to the audiobook in November. But I really enjoy Lee Beddow's narration and the voice he adds to each character. So I waited. And waited.
Enough waiting. It finally landed on my phone so I could listen to it.
Well, it was worth the wait. All the usual characters were there, including the indomitable Peggy who makes a welcome return. The plot is very good and there are a few twists which the team have to figure out. All told, another excellent addition to the series. I finished it in a single day.
Glad to hear there's another book on the way though hints from the author that book #16 may annoy/upset some people has me a little bit anxious. We'll see.
Amazing the narration of Lee Beddow, who brings out the drama, humour and great characters.
DCI Meredith and his wife, Patsy Hodge, tind themselves working on with a cold case team. Who are looking into the killings of young women who had been found decorated with a strange symbol on their bodies. Leading them to four suspects. The suspects all are highly placed politicians. Again brilliant drama and thrills, humour, great characters, twist and will keep you guessing.
I really enjoyed this new Meredith & Hodge book, it carry’s right on from the previous one and answers all the cliff hangers but I won’t give anything away. This book looks into the rich and powerful people who think and act as if they’re above the law, well that is until they meet the force that is Meredith and the cold case team. They are the ones that don’t care if you live in a mansion or a tent, or work for the government or a call girl if you have something to hide they will find it. This story was full of who done it and kept me guessing and I was wrong about who I thought lol, I loved that Peggy was in this book more and I still stand that everyone needs a Peggy in their lives and really thought the twins names are so special, I would really recommend this series and others by M.K Turner
