The galaxy-spanning conclusion to Amy Rose Capetta's acclaimed sci-fi debut, Entangled.

Cadence is in a race against time and space to save her family and friends from the Unmakers, who are tracking the last vestiges of humanity across the cosmos. As the epic battle begins, Cade learns that letting people in also means letting them go. The universe spins out of control and

I thought the first book was an incoherent mess with a lot happening.

This one was an incoherent mess with very little happening.

After the events of the first one the Unmakers bomb every human outpost from orbit, revealing that while they wanted to stuff Cade down a black hole (for reasons, you know), what they're really after is to KILL ALL HUMANS.

Did I mention that the book is an incoherent mess?

Cade and her friends choose to gather the survivors and strike back at the Unmakers. And then chan

Thank you to HMH Books for Young Readers for supplying me with a copy of this book early to read and give an honest review. Receiving this book for free has in no way altered my opinion or review.

If you haven't read the first book in this series, I cannot promise there won't be spoilers. So you have bee forewarned. Also, I don't think you will understand this book if you haven't read the first one. So go on, go back and read the first (which has just as a gorgeous a cover as this one) and see wh

First, thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a digital copy of this book for me to review.

Unfortunately, despite a cool cover and an interesting sounding description, the book failed to live up to my expectations. I had not read the first book in this series, nor am I likely to do so now.

In my opinion, this book failed because there wasn't enough description or explanation for any of the primary plot points. At certain points the book seemed rather like fanfic for Andromeda and

Unmade takes off where Entangled left off. Cade and her band of outlaws are back, and like all good sequels, things have only gotten worse. In the last book they were simply trying to save one human, now they have to save the human race. If you enjoyed Entangled, you'll enjoy Unmade, though you might have to shake your head a bit through some of the wild and crazy adventure.

Cross-posted from my blog where there's more information on where I got my copy and links and everything.

(Solid 3.5)

Re-reading my review of the first book to refresh my memory, it seems like one of my biggest complaints was the over-the-top worldbuilding. This definitely does not go that way. Honestly, if you go into this one having not read the first one, you are going to be so lost. But in a sequel, I think that works so much better. You get into the action right away. Most of the world-buildi

I don't understand why so little people like this book. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so I can't possibly blame them, however, I found this book quite refreshing. The writing style is good, and the characters are given very distinct personalities. I am personally not a sci-fi kind of girl, but I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, and am liking the second book even more. A lot of teen books these days are centered around romance, and yes, there is romance in the series, b ...more

description
The second installment of the Entangled series, Unmade finishes off the story of Entangled in a very disappointing and erratic manner. I found Unmade's plot to be very badly written, and all over the place. It was hard to follow and uninteresting to read. The characters are very badly developed in this novel. I could not empathize with any of them. When I tried to understand the villains, hero's or in-between I either found their actions were not backed up in anyway prior in the story, or that

I received Unmade by Amy Rose Capetta from Goodreads First Reads to review.

I had liked the first book in this series, Entangled, enough to give the sequel a try as well. Only I ended up liking this one even less than the first. This story continues on right when the events of the first book left off.

It finally dawned on me what I didn't like about these books. The story is somewhat disjointed and jumps around, but I was fine with that. But it's main character, Cade's, personality that was the s

Unmade is book two in the Entangled series and really needs to be read in order. It continues the story of Cade and her friends as they try to defeat the Unmakers and find a new home for the humans. It is very reminiscent of Battlestar Galactica at times with a little bit of Firefly thrown in when it comes to the crew.

There is some tragedy - people die that I really, really didn't want to die and it tears the remainder of the crew apart. At times it went a little over the top with the drama, esp

Whenever I DNF a book I wonder if it's my fault - what didn't I get about this book? In the case of Unmade what I didn't get within the first 100 pages was a clear idea of who was who and what was going on. In part that's because this is a sequel and there was no real "Previously..." provided (there are allusions, but nothing direct to say "this is my friend --- with whom I ----" or somesuch). It was as if the author had one large manuscript and just halved it to make two books.

So if you did re

A satisfying conclusion to the story that began with ENTANGLED! The premise is original, the characters are delightful, the world of the story is fully realized, and the writing is gorgeous and poetic. I really appreciate the blend of action and internal reflection, and so many times throughout this book, Amy Rose Capetta describes a feeling or sensation in a spot-on way that's immediately recognizable to me even though I never would have been able to articulate it. A beautiful book!

And the weirdness continues. In my comments on the first book (Entangled), I mentioned that this story would work better on the big screen. It goes double for this book. I found certain stretches of it almost boring to read. Certain plot points felt unfinished (Cade's mom in particular)...and the major "twist" (for lack of a better word) at the end was almost too outlandish for words. Maybe try it in a movie and we'll believe it, but I think it sort of failed as a book.

Not as narratively strong as the first in the series, but I loved how the threads of the characters, science, and music came together in the end.
