(Ver)Tumnus, the male faun accountant lead, is highly attracted to Flora, the female human lead who he believes is a prostitute. When she offers him ANYTHING in exchange for assisting her with the books for the farm she’s inherited responsibility for, he asks for one night, believing that she’ll say no but desperately hoping. When she says yes, he’s flummoxed.
They both want more than one night but they’ve both got huge responsibilities with potentially terrible consequences for failure looming over their heads…
This short story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a fun, fluffy escape into a world where even terrible things work out. I’ve been really enjoying this series and the continuation of an overarching plot that doesn’t overshadow the romance between changing lead characters. I enjoyed Tumnus’ genuine pleasure at being who Flora wanted; he never took her for granted. I enjoyed Flora’s joy at finding a relationship. I enjoyed their efforts working together toward overarching plot goals and the sweetness of the story overall, highlighted by spicy intimate interactions.

Flora needed help, and a lot of it, to straighten out the mess her aunt had left her in and when the opportunity knocked on her door, she didn't hesitate to take advantage of it. The attraction between the accountant and her was strong and there was no time to waste. Vertumnus seemed to have found the woman for him and had to put his protective skills to use even at the cost of his own safety. I found it interesting the expert professional help that Vertumnus was offering Flora and the other help, needless to say, clear as day. A tremendous bonus for both. News about the missing villain! But what happened that there is still more mystery to discover? The author keeps me interested with the way these stories intertwine and each time there is a new mystery to resolve. An interesting and entertaining story with business information, some twisted characters, romance, heated passion, and intriguing scenes that left me waiting for more. Voluntarily reviewed this copy that I received from BookFunnel.

With Donna gone, Flora is left to untangle the mess at Star Farms and see what she and the other girls had to live on. They were all tired of eating ration bars and that was the first thing Flora planned to change. But first, she needs accounting advice and Vertumnus, also known as Tumnus, was just the faun to help her.
Tumnus currently has the great misfortune to work for Hera, and that is not a good thing. He is in his current position because his brother had bad luck, not only in his gambling but also in his death. Comus died owing a lot of money to Hera and she plans to get it all back, with interest, via Tumnus's accounting skills. When Flora comes to him for help, he makes her a ridiculous proposition that he never expects her to accept. But she does accept, and now all of Tumnus's dreams might come true - but only for one night. He is sure that is not going to be enough.
I love the Colony stories. There are even some characters from past books that show up in this one. Enjoy. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Short, sweet, spicy: beauty in the intergalactic garden🌱

Horns was an easy, quick read with a pretty simple plot, steamy bits and a satisfying HEA. The characters are not complex and introspection is not the point.
Flora and Tumnus, human farm administrator and horned alien accountant, both residents of the Nyx Colony, strike a bargain that benefits both for business and pleasure, especially during their long, heated nights. Star Farms, where Flora resides, appears to have been a hotbed of trafficking of young Earth women under Flora' aunt's management but the aunt is missing, appears to have fled, and Flora has been left to put things on the up and up.
The heated scenes between Tumnus (who has a bit of an inferiority complex) and Flora were not too graphic but get the point across. It was a fun read and the first I've read in the Nyx Colony series. Now I think I'd enjoy coming back for more!

An explicit, science fiction romance. Flora is interested in Tumnus. Who, in turn, is interested in her. Both are too insecure to tell the other. They end up needing favors from each other. First, it's a story of sexual domination. Next, it becomes a romance with sharing and mutual respect. Finally, elements of previous stories in the series are brought to closure.
Demelza Carlton is a masterful storyteller. In short, this tale involves those skills. The story involves aspects of adult entertainment, business, farming, gardening, and organized crime. Which of the young women of Star Farms will be matched next?

Flora needs help to get out the trouble that seems to have surrounded her and Star Farms, she thinks that Vertumnus (Tumnus) is just the alien to help her, it's just a bonus she finds him attractive. Tumnus is tempted by Flora's indecent proposal, but will he resist the temptation? If he helps will he put Flora in more danger? I enjoyed this cute couple who have some sizzling attraction, I liked both these hard working characters (who both had items to bond on, like the dislike of ration bars), it was a great alien and human romance.

Another interesting book about the Intergalactic Dating Agency and the Star Farm human girls.
With Donna, the owner of Star Farm missing, her niece Flora must take over the administration of Star Farm. It looks like the farm might be in difficulties without the help of someone to sort out the finances.
Flora offers her aunt's accountant Vertumnus, anything if he will help her sort out the finances.
This is a delightful romantic book which ends on a cliffhanger. I loved the story.

This is a very short book in the Colony series about a sweet but intensely passionate romance. Vertumnus, an accountant for the First Shot Cantina which hosts the Intergalactic Dating Agency, and Flora, Star Farm manager, are, unknown to them, fated mates— until that fateful night when she told him she’d do ‘anything’ for his help, and accepted his terms for an unforgettable night, then another…. They manage to overcome the obstacles they face to get their HEA ending.

I really enjoyed returning to Nyx and checking in to see how things are going, especially with the farm girls. Short answer not that well. And thus the story begins that was a fun quick steamy read that made me laugh and I found entertaining. Sometimes I wanted to slap the main characters but that happens a lot and was part of the fun.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. And Flora is desperate for Vertumnus' help. So when Vertumnus names his price “One night with you, to do whatever I want”, Flora accepts. With a proposal like that, you just know this story is going to be hot and steamy! And after that cliffhanger ending I can't wait to find out what happens next in Shade!

This is another book from the Colony Series but can be read alone. This is a sweet story very romantic with a bit of spice. A quick read and quite enjoyable as are all the books in the Colony Series.

I loved Flora and her faun. It was a fast steamy read with engaging characters, humor and a HEA. My only regret is that I read it out of sequence.

Since Donna has disappeared, Flora has been left with the business of Star Farms. There is a problem with the records, and she needs help. She finds that help when she meets Vertumnus, the faun accountant she meets at the Cantina. While working on the books at the farm, an attraction grows between Flora and Tumnus. Their investigation into the workings of Star Farms yields answers, surprises, and a chance for love and a happy future for Tumnus and Flora. Another entertaining visit to the Colony with interesting characters, information about the farm, and romance.
