I really want to like this book, but unfortunately I can't. What is the main subject ? The wedding, the job or authour's knowledge of branded stuff ?? Shopaholic series, Devil wears Prada, The Nanny Diaries also mention brand many times, but the difference is ... they simply put brand in an appropriate way. Let alone the story ... very cliche adn boring. Not even close to "Ceweq Matre By Alberthine Endah" which very unique, honest and fun to read. It's not worth my time.

I wish I could rate books just from the way it's written. This one is strategically written. The stake's high already in the beginning. And even approaching the end of the story, the writer won't even let the conflicts end. So, that part is good.
And from that alone this story deserves three stars.

However, the main character just irritated the heck out of me. She made me stop caring at all about all her plights. This is one of the typical characters that put bad stereotypes into marriages. I'd

The life of a business banker is 24/7, and for Andrea, it feels like 8 days in a week. Power lunch, designer suit, golf in Bintan, dinner with clients, and feasibility analysis of her future clients, she eats them all. But, in her 29 years old, Andrea needs to change all of her priorities in life because there is Adjie, the most eligible bachelor in banking who is willing to marry her. So she should be smiling, right?

Not really. No when she has to choose between career and marriage, facing weddi

I read d review in cleo magz n decided to buy this book.. my first thought wow hectic wedding preparation of super busy couple.. by a writer who really know what she wrote.. hmnn tempting..

I found the book very interesting with light story line and unique main idea.. so unlike indonesian writer.. lovee it.. but later it started to pissed me of..

why u have to put branded thingy in most of d conversations?? some like "who can resist a hugo?" or "she tried d comme des garcon shirt" still acceptab

Kinda fun to read (if it’s your first encounter with ika’s book)
But if it’s not then it’ll be super boring since Ika got everything the same for almost all of her books.
Banker, high-class people, brand-oriented, and all those things. You may find it very similar with the others.

So for me, it’s just not good enough.
More, because there’s nothing that can be called climax, and those little conflict goes till the end.

I personally just don’t enjoy this

As the tittle, it was a very yuppy book for me, cause I couldn’t refrain my curiousity to tear the plastic cover. Heu heu… Just 3 hours after I grabbed it from Togamas BS, i’ve read till the very last page.

Well, kesan pertama dari buku ini apa hayo? Simple cover! You just will find white cover with some simple text also. I mean, it is so determining brevity and simplicity as well.
Kesan kedua apa? From the review I know It was all about the banker’s life, so me as geophysicists seen it as a new c

Confession (and also a disclaimer): I didn't reach the very last page of this book so it's up to you whether to continue on reading my review or just hit that little x icon.

This book is undeniably "yuppy". It tells a tale of a soon to be married young woman who's currently at the height of her career. Andrea is beautiful, successful, and happily in a relationship. Really, what else could a woman ask? It seems to everyone Andrea's life couldn't go wrong. But it does. At least in her eyes.

Pertama kali ngeliat buku ini di kamar 'my bro'. Sedikit shocked, kok tiba2 dia baca chicklit? But I found out later that it is bcuz of profesinya. My bro & Andrea share the same profession (yup, banker). Secara gw yg pd saat itu lagi "addicted to TV serial..definitely not sinetron" kaya Alias, Las Vegas, Desperate Housewives dan teman2nya. Honestly (no offense), at that time aku ngerasa novel-novel Indonesia itu too idealis, penulisannya rada garing, pengetahuan penulis tentang subject and ...more

The book is, well, okay. I wanted to like the book, especially because it's by Ika Natassa. I have read and loved Twivortiare and Antalogi Rasa, so I was expecting something more from this book. Unfortunately the story was too predictable. I don't even think there's a good big problem or climax of the story. It feels like just a story of another couple with some small problems (that somehow seems to be very big for the characters due to their ego) every now and then. Not only that, I was also a ...more

This book was very popular when I was in highschool. Yes, highschool. But I wasn't such a book nerd. So recently I went to Gramedia to look for this novel. Unfortunately there's no single novel available. I mean there was this novel but I have to buy this book along with other books of Ika Natassa. So there I was, buying the whole box set impulsively.

The latest book I read before this was #GIRLBOSS, which is a true story and very realistic. So when I read this AVYW, I mumbled "impossible" many t

This is the second book of Ika Natassa I've read. The first one is Divortiare and I was a bit dissapointed of the story and characters inside. The story of the books are good, but too similar, as well as the characters. Ika Natassa has a good sense of humor that I could not find in any Indonesian writer and I love her writing style which is not boring; she has something that literature lovers call smart dialogue and we can find it in every page of these novels. But unfortunately, she is lack of ...more

This book is not as good as the other books by Ika Natassa that I read before (C11 & TAOL). Well it's expected, the author already improved much considering this book is her first published novel. The story is a typical romance you see a lot on FTV, not so special even if that so like Ika Natassa's touch makes it a little better. I would not write much. To be honest, I don't like the story. Most of the conflict kind of like walking at the same spot, it's boring and annoying ( and I am annoye ...more

Maybe this is the first metropop book i ever read.

For me, i love the way ika natassa pointing all those brands and places. But in contrary, i find it pretty intriguing the inconsistency of the vocab used. Sometimes it was formal, and following after it wasn't. But still, a good one for some refreshment.

Actually i can give 4 stars for this, but for the closing of the chapter before the last, i just can't get the feeling of it. It's like when you're on your way to himalayan peak, just before the p

Actually this is a good novel but maybe it's my mistake because i've read Antologi Rasa first which it's the last novel from Ika Natassa and A Very Yuppy Wedding is the first novel from Ika Natassa so when i read this novel i felt bored at the beginning and middle part of novel because i really felt the development of Ika Natassa's writing skill. Ika Natassa's writing skill from her first novel is nothing compared to her writing skill from her last novel. But the main conflict at last part of no ...more

at the beginning it felt like i was reading a soap opera (not watching since i'm reading it heheheh) .. all of the characters love talking .. i mean a lot ..... heheheh... the nicest part will be somewhere near end of the story but still.. the conflict is not really breath-taking...

But at least, public opinion that said your "ex" might pop up somehow just to mess things up right before D-day indeed happened a lot in this life... hehehehh

Nice novel though.. i hope she'll write another soon ^o^

i may have way different opinion regarding this book. but for me, it's just too good to be true.

man: handsome, loyal, lovable, successful, good career, supportive nice family, nice sister, rich, care, wise, calm, and yes, smart.
woman: the only child, very supportive nice parents, rich, successful, pretty, men's sweet eye candy, talkative, oh yes, dont forget about smart and graduated from reputable university.

are we living in a wonderland?

Ok. I love the begining. Adjie and Andrea yang backstreet karena pekerjaan mereka tidak mengizinkan berhubungan dalam satu kantor yang sama. Their relationship was so happy, sweet, and normal. But, after reading the half book, you know, the problem or the topic that they always debate to is same. Cemburu yg ga ptg. Overall the book was ok.

short review : shallow, too egoistic, and too similar characters act it out in a wedding preparation between two high-ranking bankers. Result: an usual drama of some trivial things that shouldn't have happened in the first place. Too similar with Sinetron

More detailed review coming up.

My rating : somewhere around 2-2.5 stars, I suppose.

I normally don't read books in Indonesian but this particular one caught my eye. I gotta say I quite enjoyed it.

It's not that bad, but it's not that great either. The characters are pretty mediocre. Nothing stands out. But I just have to give it a three because it did make me laugh on some parts. And it did keep me interested.

I am looking forward to read more of Natassa's books.

ngeramal kisah ini bisa manis kalau mengemasnya lebih cantik.
Well, d'oh, I'm not quite interested to a work with many product placement on it.
Well, anyway... I know it would be an "enjoy-reading" one if the author stayed focus on a topic, or two,of the story.

Based on the tittle, at first I don't wanna read it because I thought it would be all about old fashioned wedding, the romance is not interesting etc. But after I dare to open the first page, I found it interesting and kinda shocking. A bit dramatical yet it happens.
