“You are cordially invited…”

Four words that spark the fear of God into any gently bred, single southern woman.

When Savannah Guthry receives an invitation to her cousin’s wedding back home in Charleston, South Carolina, her first thoughts aren’t of flowers and dresses. Instead, she's reminded of the groom: her first lov

I do update Facebook and my website with news and have discussed this subject many times over the last few years on those sites. When I originally wrote Last Call it was with the intention of writing more, but life happened and things changed. The story is NOT a cliffy. There is a clear ending that allows readers to assume where things go from here. Yes, there is certainly more that could be written, but it's not necessary.
I apologize you felt ignored by my lack of response, it was not my intention. Goodreads is just not a platform I use for communication.

Savannah is in her last year of college and she gets an invitation to a wedding. A wedding she has no desire to go to, but her mother and their family status has her going anyway. On one hand she needs to go to prove that she isn't stuck in the past but she hates being around the people that were closest to her and ripped her heart out.

Since she indeed will be attending the wedding her house mates slash best girlfriends set her up on a string of dates via a campus dating sight. Savannah doesn't

I wasn't going to write a review. This book was a huge miss for me and I don't like knocking books because there is an audience for just about everything. Then I changed my mind and am writing a review because I checked reviews before I bought this (darn those daily sales that are sent to me) and there weren't any that helped me realize this book would not be a good fit for my tastes.

To be honest, I am not a big fan of New Adult books. I was at the beginning, before it was a thing. I read some r

The blurb sounded so promising I was excited for something different. The actual story though was horrendous.
A Southern Debutante rebelling against her mother.
She is so full of her self and every male she meets, and even 1 female, want her as soon as they see her! Every male! Seriously. Ugh. The first 43% of the book is her going on dates and getting hit on by people. I skimmed after that. It was just dumb and pointless. She's a 20 something acting like a teenager! This is not New Adult. What can I say about a book that I absolutely loved and thought was super fantastic?
Well, lets start at the beginning shall we?
Last Call is about Savannah getting a blast from the past in the form of a wedding invitation, the groom to be is her ex boyfriend, and well... basically the biggest douche ever but I will leave that one for you to read and find out why ;)
Then we have the quirky, weird, matchmaking best friends Candace and Sara, not only are their matchmaking skills terrible, but some

The past always finds a way to come back and haunt you. Unfortunately for Savannah, it comes in the form of a wedding invitation. So not only does she have to go to the wedding and see her spoiled cousin marry her ex, but she has to do so dateless. Sara and Candace, being the good friends they are, set Savannah up on some dates to try and find her Mr. Right. While most of them are complete losers, one good thing does come out of it all. She gets to see the cute Aussie bartender every night.

I really enjoyed this one! It had a lot of funny stuff, but also a huge side of drama.. Who doesn't like an Aussie? I just love the accent and I don't know why but I just love the word "barbie" it's so different. So I enjoyed it very much!

But for me personally I felt like the book was a bit to long, it could've been a bit shorter and the ending could have an epilogue. And I figured the twists out myself and I'm a bit on the slow side, but I didn't mind that gave me the chance to accept

Ok. Let's do this. I have taken the day to really think about this book. I though I was conflicted but now I am very happy with book. So here it goes.

Last call isn't your typical new adult book. It's not your jump in head first, insta love with tons of sex. Which now a days what you find in most books. So I was thrown off and that's why I was conflicted. But now I see why she wrote it this way.

Savannah was raised with country clubs, debutants and a prim and proper mother. She was rais

I actually enjoyed the book and characters. However, besides me being thrown off because I thought this was a bring-a-fake-guy-home-then-fall-in-love story, it was quite predictable. There isn't any angst about who the stalker is and Gage being secretly rich was obvious to me.

I wasn't happy with the resolution to the whole Charleston incident and felt the entire ending was a bit rushed. Then it just ends and I'm told, "the end...for now." Oh for fuck's sake, just add another 50 pages to the end

I would firstly like to thank Sarah Ashley Jones for holding the giveaway for this book and sending it over to me. I have had this book on my to read list for a while now and I was stoked to receive it after winning the giveaway.

Now onto the book... I enjoyed this one. It is was a nice change from some of the heavier books that I have read lately. The characters were easy to like and I liked the relationships between them all. At times I felt like some of the book was rushed a little. I wanted

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this! I loved Michele's first novel, and was dying to read this one. Michele has a writing style that draws you in.

Savannah has been invited to the wedding of the century. Starring non other than her prissy cousin and her ex boyfriend (and first love). Bound and determined not to let Savannah go to this wedding alone, her friends scheme up ideas to send her on dates to find a potential wedding date.

I loved Savannah. From the first page, I loved her. She's sn

Last call is one of those books that will suck you in, but not for one particular reason. As Savannah goes through the string of dates her quirky friends send her on, you're experiencing them with her, and let me tell you, it's hilarious. I found myself thinking "what would I do if I was on a date with him?" and I think she handles it way better than I ever could! But then, there's the romance. It's full of sexual tension and the sweet feeling of lust on the journey to love. That was one of my f ...more

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

I expected it to be a light hearted story about a girl who doesn't want to go to a wedding alone for all the usual reasons, but really, even thought the upcoming wedding sets things in motion, the event itself only played a small part in the long scheme of things. There was so much more involved. There was family issues, unfinished business, secrets, danger, not to mention a smoldering new romance on the horizon. It wasn't all serious though. There were many m

Really, really loved this book. Being a southern belle myself, I love when I can step into a book and read about southern hospitality that's not what non-southerners THINK it's like. Sure, main character Savannah may have grown up privileged, but it doesn't define her. She faces the same insecurities and deficiencies as the rest of us poor saps, and there's something refreshing about a character who is flawed and relate able.
Her sexy Aussie love interest is absolutely delicious.....'nuff said.

Loved it!! Fell in love with the Hot Aussie Bartender for sure- Gage Taylor leaves quite an image in my head. Savannah has dealt with a whole lot of bad with previous guys, after three years her friends get her dating. She goes on a string of first dates while Gage watches till he calls dibs on her. Very sweet romance, some deep secrets and little bit of mystery and I honestly could not put this down to the end. LOVE!! Can't wait to read more from Melissa about Gage and his return to Australia.. ...more

4 Stars!

I enjoyed this book. The blurb is a bit misleading, well not necessarily, it just leaves out a big part of the book. I wanted more of the wedding, her family, friends, and you don't get that until 80% of the book. The majority of the story happened over like a 3 week period and then a month went by in a few pages and we were at the wedding ...

Overall it was a good book, I really enjoyed Gage and Savannah and I loved his ego!

Will I read the second book? Yeah probably.

Seriously Loved this book! It was such a fun and insanely sweet book. It was pretty light hearted for most of the book. Not sure how I feel about the "plot twist" at the end. But I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. I mean there is a hot Australian bartender with a hot accent. What more could you want?

Amazing! What a good story. Loved her dates and the banter between her and Gage from the start. Wasnt sure how this was going to turn out. Thought Gage was a super guy--like she says, her superman. Little bit of suspense to keep you on your toes. Looking forward to the next book for sure to see what happens with their story. He's a keeper though!

I think the best thing about this book is that you think it's just another chick-lit love story, but it's NOT lol. Not that there's anything wrong with a good chick-lit love story, but I like that it's more complex than that ;). And once again Michele has created a swoon worthy guy for us to drool over and a strong heroine for us to relate with and commiserate with. 5 stars! :)

Savannah Guthry was raised in South Carolina, with country clubs, debutants and a prim and proper ladies as her mother embedded in her head. But taking the first chance she got, Savannah moved to Tennessee for school to escape a broken heart and failed relationships, not to mention betrayal by a family member. In my mist of a major book funk I can happily say I REALLY enjoyed this. Not the entire thing but there were MANY parts that had my FULL ATTENTION!!! Hope to heavens above I’m breaking out!!!

This storyline is no way new to the book scene, the cover pulled me in and the synopsis tugged at me. The girl-friends making the non-dater go on blind dates were ok, they were a good addition but my favorite parts were at The Garage and anytime Gage was around. I don’t normally love a dating book but

Her friends set her up on numerous blind dates with the hopes of finding someone who she can take to the wedding to impress her family and show her cousin & ex-boyfriend that she had long since moved on from their betrayal. What the hell?!?!
I'm so discombobulated about this book. What I thought was going to be a fun college/ adult read turned into something way different. First off I liked this book......I think....no wait I do. That's kinda how this book ended for me. Where to start.... Characters were great, it was the story line that really through me for a loop, dragged me through the mud, hit me with a bus, ect. ect. The synopsis was about a college age, came from old money, southern belle who gets invited to
