Have you heard the news? Python by Dan Ames is a brand new series about private investigator Clint Shockey. He is based in Florida and used to be a cop in Detroit. I am amazed at the amount of variation one author can make in so many series. Ames has managed to write in most cathegories you can think of. I have so far never felt let down by the ones I have read. The characters in this new thrilling series is marvellous and I think it will go down as some of his best work. I had a really great time reading about the twists in this rather gruesome story and I can't wait to see what cases Shockey will have to deal with in the coming books. I am forever thankful that I gat the chance to be a part of the A-team and read some great books by this author. If you haven't tried some of his work it's high time to do so. Oh, and have some fun doing it.

I am part of the author’s A Team and this is an honest review.
WOW! Double wow! I have been following this author for a long time and have enjoyed all of his works but I think this one has to be one of his best. The action is super fast, the cast of characters outstanding, the story pulls you in from page one, the writing is superb and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next in this series. I highly recommend this book. You will not be disappointed. It is that good!

Really enjoyable first story in a new series. Clint Shockey, a former Detroit cop unhappily removed from his position, moves to small Capri Island in Florida to start a new life with his Uncle Russ in his PI business. As we go through Shockey’s introduction to an all new atmosphere, all new people, and completely different customs and traditions, he is suddenly immersed in the hunt for a vicious serial killer who has named himself Python. Teaming up with the Police Chief Soto, after her department is set aside by a team of FBI agents, Shockey, with Soto’s help, tracks down clue after clue, piecing together the evidence, the possible suspects, and even joining with the unusual people living in the swamps. Plenty of twists and turns as the story progresses and the bodies pile up at a faster and faster pace. At the same time, a hurricane is blowing in and residents are scurrying around preparing for the worst. An extremely quick read that is hard to put down. I am really looking forward to the next Shockey adventure.

Python is a great start to what promises to be another captivating series by Dan Ames. The story grabs the reader's interest from the first pages and doesn't let go. It is engrossing, captivating, and difficult to put down. There is plenty of Mr. Ames' signature action, red herrings, and complications along the way. Clint Shocky is a man with a past that I'd love to see him address at some point further in the series. There are people in Detroit who need payback in the worst way! The story has a way of getting under the reader's skin because the fact is, people like this perpetrator live among us in plain sight and we don't know it. That can give one nightmares.
I can't wait to see what adventures Mr. Ames has in store for Shocky and I'm looking forward to going along for the ride.
I received a review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Python - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

Dan Ames' A Clint Shockey Thriller series opener, Python, is set in the Florida Everglades, where amateur wildlife photographer Janet sees a rare, big cat, shortly before meeting a gruesome end. When is she missed?
Why is Clint in Florida with his Uncle Russ?

Clint and Police Chief Giselle Soto must join forces to reveal the self-styled Python's identity and stop them before they can kill again.
But now the FBI have been involved, plus other matters distract and deter them, which proves a costly error when a third victim gets taken.
Can Clint save the day once more?

To find out how the truth is unexpectedly revealed, as the confusing twists and turns along the serpent's trail are smoothed out, get Dan Ames' superb crime-thriller, Python, today!

What a great start to this new series! Clint has recently moved to Florida and while he decides what to do for a living, he helps out his Uncle Russ with a missing persons case. Unfortunately, this soon turns into his looking for a killer. Along the way, there are many interesting side characters, including one that Clint had met in his younger days. We learn early on that Clint had been a cop back in Detroit but the reason for him leaving is a bit of a surprise. As we've come to expect with the authors other series, this is a fast-paced read with unexpected twists that will have you turning the pages to find out what will happen next.

There are serial killers and then there are serial killers, this last group being evil incarnate.
Clint Shockey, ex cop and now a private investigator, had no idea that looking for a missing girl, would lead to his uncovering a serial killer of the latter category.
Nor did I think I would abhor anybody as much as this killer. But then, author Dan Ames has a way of bringing forth memorable characters, even sometimes evil ones.
And Clint is well on his way becoming a major tough and oh so clever guy.
Enjoy.

A former Detroit cop that left town under questionable circumstances relocating to SW Florida as an investigator finds himself in the middle of several missing ladies that wind up dead. Interesting characters and a story that pulls you along as Clint gets to know the local scene and people on his way to discovering who is behind the crimes. Definitely recommend the book for anyone that enjoys the genre.
