When you're sold to your enemy... can you become their lover? MCKENNA
My fall from the elite wasn’t my fault - it was orchestrated by one man.I’m determined not to let his actions affect my future. I need to get back to my dreams and create a better life for my mother and me…the kind of life we’re used to living. The auction at Club Lust is the perfect opportunity. I’ll do anything for money, even if it means sharing my body with a perfect stranger. When I’m sold to my enemy, I have to give him what he my submission.I may once have had feelings for Adrian McIntyre, but we’re not kids anymore, and no matter how he sends my pulse racing, I won’t forget he’s the one who destroyed the life I had.
ADRIAN
McKenna Moran always thought she was too good for me, never giving me a chance. When I saw that she was in the auction at Club Lust, I knew I had to win her. Taking my revenge on her body is going to be so sweet. This weekend is going to be one she never forgets if I can keep from giving into the old feelings I once had for her and remind myself that this woman is my enemy no matter how good her body feels against mine.
Book was good and I liked the storyline. Gave the book a 4 because some parts felt repetitive but the story still kept me interested. McKenna & Adrian went through a lot to be together and having family meddle into their lives. Over all this book was interesting
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve read a non-whychoose romance, and this was quite the intense read to do that lol. It was certainly worth it though. I’m not always a fan of enemies-to-lovers, but this was so well done. When you start this type of story with 2 characters that truly can’t stand each other, yet you believe the love you feel between them by the end, you KNOW the author knows what they’re doing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 There were so many misconceptions & so much miscommunication that led our main characters, McKenna & Aiden, to see the past so very differently. It led them to a journey that neither of them would’ve ever expected when he won her in an auction that she joined to try to be able to finance getting her life back on track. Seeing them both start to see who they really were beyond their hatred, and not just what they assumed, paved the way to an emotionally charged story. The nuclear level heat & spice we got from McKenna & Aiden certainly didn’t hurt either while their perceptions of each other changed 👀🫣😈🔥🥵 Be aware though, when they originally come together after the auction, the anger & hate do come across in a way that some people may have a hard time with, yet I felt like it lent a very realistic feel to the emotions of the storyline. Having said that, please make sure to check the TWs beforehand to make sure you’re ok with the path that Mercy took our characters on from hate to love. I’m loving the variety of stories in this series so far, and thankful that it introduced me to Mercy’s writing ❤️
Enjoyed the characters and their story. I liked how even though they hated each other there was still a big part of them that was basically in love with the other one. They had their reasons as to why they "hated" one another but even then it was hard for them to not think about one another or even stay away.
I liked the story, definitely had some parts that had me shocked. Not gonna lie the whole thing with their parents still have me a bit confused but whatever. It was like everyone was trying to keep them apart but when its meant to be its gonna happen. They had really good chemistry and are exactly what each other needs.
I liked how Adrian was so supportive of McKennas dreams. All he ever wanted was to be with her and treat her amazingly and thats exactly what he did. Even when he was punishing her or when it seemed like he was taking things a little too far she was enjoying herself immensely. They definitely matched each other in every way.
The mix of objectification, degradation humiliation was not for me. This kind of made me skim most of the smex scenes. This didn't take away from me enjoying the story even though their was A LOTTT of smexy parts. I still really liked the characters and I feel like outside of the bedroom they still had an amazing connection and good chemistry.
*Please make sure to check your Trigger Warnings!!! There are a bunch in this book.*
The background behind Adrian and McKenna is a good one. Childhood friends that could’ve become more had it not been for meddling relatives. And when McKenna’s father is accused of criminal activity, everything changes. Adrian is a “shoot now, ask questions later” kind of a guy. Which is both good and bad.
While I enjoyed the plot line, I was reluctant to give this more than 3 stars. Between the spelling errors and the repetitive nature of both the actions being played out by the FMC and MMC, and the way they interacted with each other during their “scenes”, it just made the whole thing a little difficult to get through. An action or phrase would be said one page, and then the same thing would be said a page or two further.
I have enjoyed the couples of the Club Lust Auction series I’ve read so far, and again, while I loved the storyline of Adrian and McKenna, I just feel like it all could’ve flowed together a bit better. And towards the end, the thing with both their parents and then her forgiving him so quickly. Ugghhh…. 🤦🏻♀️
I do encourage everyone to read this and make your own conclusions on whether this book is for you. Thank you to the author for allowing me the opportunity to arc read for you! Enjoy everyone!!
This book is the third in the Night to Remember Auction series. Sold to her Enemy is by Mercy Denton. This was an intense addition to this world and series. This book was such an intense read. I couldn’t put it down. It was a very easy enjoyable read, that I finished in less than a day.
McKenna is the female main character. She is trying to rebuild her life after it all came to a halt. She was days away from the test that would secure her life when it went to shambles. So she decides to sell herself for the money to reclaim her life starting with that test. There’s only one problem, the man who buys her, the same man who destroyed her.
Enter Aiden. He’s rich and powerful. He hates McKenna, so when he sees her he knows this is his opportunity to finally get her. Because all through their childhood she rejected him. What ensues next is their weekend together showing dominance and who belongs to who.
But are things always as they seem?
This story is mf . It is super spicy, steamy, and hot. It has a lot of dominance, humiliation, and power play. It is happily ever after, and has suspense, danger, lust, romance, and some violence in it. Plus a twist as well.
What I love about A Night To Remember Auction series is how each book is a different trope. The spice level also goes up with each book. Sold To Her Enemy opens the trope of the BDSM, dom, and sub lifestyle.
Mckenna just wants to give her mom a better life after the downfall of her family. She thought that the auction was the answer to her prayers. Little did she know she would be bought by her enemy, Adrian McIntyre. The man who ruined her family. She is his for the entire weekend and has to do everything he says. If she doesn't, she doesn't get her money for the auction.
Adrian feels like this is his chance to get his revenge on the girl who never wanted him and on her father for destroying his family business. Making McKenna a dirty slut and making her feel like nothing is the perfect plan.
He is not shy about doing everything that she agreed to on the contract she signed for the auction. The things he does to her left me flabbergasted at times. There were a lot of, "Oh My!!!" and "Holly damn!!" The spice level in this book is defently at a 10.
This is book 3 in the A Night to Remember Auction universe, and another unique entry. This is the first book I feel where the spice outweighs the overall storyline, but it's not to the detriment of the plot.
Sold to Her Enemy is the epitome of a enemies to lover's romance, and when I first started reading, I genuinely didn't see how a HEA for Adrian and Mckenna was possible. As always, the miscommunication trope plays heavily in this story, but our two rivals do find love, in amongst some pretty heavy, D/s style smut. I did struggle a little with the humiliation/degradation in this one, purely because it came from a place of anger, unlike other books where I've read it as more of a kink. But Denton wrote it in such a way that made me not completely hate it.
Another great entry into this universe, and it introduced a new author to me, who I will now be keeping on my radar.
Thank you to the author and the A Night to Remember Auction team for the eARC opportunity. These are my honest thoughts that I have provided voluntarily.
The author did an amazing job! I love enemies to lovers and this was done so well. As soon as Mckenna and Adrian see each other even though they can’t stand each other you can still feel all the love they have for each other.
Things aren’t always what they seem. There are so many misconceptions and miscommunications that happen between the main characters. Because of that Mckenna is trying to get her life back together and ends up auctioning herself off. As soon as Adrian sees her he wants her to take his anger out. They were only together for a weekend but you could still see all the love they have for each other. Adrian seemed so gentle and caring at times while other times he wanted his information but still made sure to take care of Mckenna.
Both Adrian and Mckenna found out many truths during this short time together. Things started to make sense. Seeing how their perspectives of each other change and be true to their feelings was great. They lost out on so much time together because of others but they truly found themselves together and as individuals.
This author is a first for me and if you have read the previous books in this series, then this one will not disappoint.
McKenna and Adrian will pull you into there story, it will have you turning the pages to see how it all unfolds. They endured so much, and what they went through to be together is a testament of their love despite their family meddling in their love lives.
It is clear that Adrian has McKenna’s interests at heart, supporting her dreams and now he gets to show her exactly what she means to him, now that they’re together, he treats her like the queen she is, even when he is doling out deliciously decadent punishments, ones that she enjoys very much. You can tell that they were both made for each other, their chemistry undeniable.
If you love your story with enemies to lovers, spice, high heat and intense scenes, BĎ$M elements and trigger warnings that will curl your toes, then this story is for you.
Highly recommend both the author and the book.
I received an ARC. Therefore I am submitting a voluntary review.
A short and fast paced super kinky forbidden/enemies to lovers HEA romance. McKenna has fallen out of societal grace after an alleged scandal forced her father into hiding and her mother into an ailing heartbroken mess - leaving her unable to follow her plans to be a vet. Faced with an opportunity like no other, McKenna finds herself being auctioned off at Club Lust for the money that'll change her life. She's kinky and submissive and eager to play, until she finds out that she's been auctioned off to her childhood crush turned enemy after he led the hostile company take over that forced her family out. I loved how feisty McKenna is even through her submissive and kinky weekend play at the behest of Adrian, who is a take charge and obey kind of man. Extra spicy open door, well written, multi-pov, dual timeline, realistic character dynamics paired with their ups and downs and the plot twist you don't see coming had me flipping pages faster than I expected.
Book 3 in the A Night to Remember Auction-verse ramps up all the *fun* times that can be had. The *fun* definitely outweighs the plot but it doesn't feel forced or out of place.
Keeping up with the name, it's an enemies to lovers romance, and Mercy did amazing making you believe that just maybe this couple are enemies. They were once childhood friends but as they got older some major drama went down that turned them to enemies.
When McKenna hits some really hard times, she winds up at the auction. Adrian uses this as his way to get McKenna right where he wants her and her body. Secrets that were buried long ago come out over the weekend, and plenty of feelings are also brought to the surface.
This entire story with the secrets, *fun*, feelings and all of the angst you get from miscommunication make it for a great story!
McKenna's live is very different to what it a short time ago. Her fall from high society was hard and fast, and all orchestrated by her old childhood friend, Adrian. When the chance to be auctioned off and claw part of her life back is presented to her, McKenna grabs the chance with both hands. After all, its just for a weekend and she can explore more of herself with whoever purchases her. But when she is sold to the man who caused her to lose everything, she might end up falling further that sne ever planned.
Mercy Denton writes a fabulous story in this shared world. McKenna and Adrian are both such wonderful and dimensional characters that you can completely understand how the main characters ended up where they did. Utterly loved the story and their dynamics. Such a fun an interesting read!
I don’t usually read MF; I will but usually it has to be really kinky. Sold to her Enemy hit all things I love- degradation and praise, humiliation, dubcon, somno, semi public sex with the potential to be caught. This line summed up a lot for me: “‘Yes, Sir,’ I’m swimming in anticipation, wondering what my enemy has in store for me next.” Be sure to check the triggers because these 2 do a lot of awesomely naughty stuff together.
And the story was great. I loved our main characters and really felt the hate/love between them. I don’t want to spoil anything, but the history behind how they became enemies made sense and the reconciliation felt real. I am absolutely loving this series because it’s introducing me to some new authors. I’ll definitely be diving into Mercy Denton’s catalog after this! I did receive an ARC for this book, but my review is honest!
Sold to Her Enemy is the 3rd book in the A Night To Remember Auction series. This is a collaboration series written by 14 different authors. These books can be read as standalones however to fully enjoy this series the way the authors intended, it is highly suggested to read them in order. Sold to Her Enemy is a friends to enemies to lovers romance. This is the story of Mckenna and Adrian. They grew up together and were best friends until someone’s actions ripped their world apart, especially Mckenna’s. It’s been a year since that fateful day and the hate they have towards each other is still as explosive as ever. What happens when they realize there were other forces in play keeping them apart and turning them against each other? Will the truths come to light and change their paths? Fantastic addition to the series, I absolutely loved it!!! Can’t wait to see what comes next!
Sold To Her Enemy is written by Mercy Denton and is book three in A Night To Remember Auction series where each book is written by different authors.
💜 FMC trying to better her life 💜 MF 💜 enemies to lovers 💜 forced proximity 💜mysteries 💜🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 spicy spice
Mckenna has no choice but to participate in the auction. Ever since things took a drastic turn in her life forcing her with her mother to flee Boston, things have not been great. They went from a life of luxury to a one bedroom apartment in a totally different state. The sad part is that she was a few days away from taking her test to become a veterinarian. Now, she needs to do this so that she can finally afford to take the test and give a better life for her and her mother. What she doesn’t expect is who bids on her. What will she do? Can she last the entire weekend? Will she be able to let go of the last enough to get through it all?
This was an interesting spin on enemies to lovers. It’s always interesting to see how people go through the same life experiences and come out on the other side with totally different ways of seeing what happened. So far every book in this series is so vastly different from the others and this was no exception. It makes me excited to see what the next story will bring.
Book 3 of A Night to Remember Auction series! Sold to Her Enemy by Mercy Denton was HOT, HOT, HOT!!! McKenna and Adrian were friends to enemies to lovers. First they were childhood friends, then when they got older Adrian kept asking McKenna out only to constantly be turned down! Finally, when some drama between their dad’s companies goes down, they turn into bitter enemies!
McKenna hits some hard times and that why she end up in the auction. Adrian see this as a way to get what he always wanted…McKenna and her body. Time for a little pay back!
Long buried secrets and feelings are revealed over the weekend. Super spicy and great storyline! Mind your triggers if you have them. But you should definitely check this book out!!
This is the third book in the ‘A Night to Remember Auction’ series of standalone stories taking place in a multi author shared world. The main theme of this story is, friends to enemies to lovers, which is one of my favourite tropes to read, and I think it was brilliantly done. There is a lot of spice, which can be intense at times including degradation, humiliation, domination and BDSM so please make sure you check your TW before reading. Miscommunication, secrets, and angst are also included in the story line however the spice does take up a majority of the story (and I’m certainly not complaining!). This is the first book by this author I have read and I will definitely be adding her other works to my TBR.
The third installment of the "A Night to Remember Auction' introduces McKenna and Adrian, two childhood friends who, through a series of events, miscommunication and unspoken feelings, find themselve at loggerheads and as enemies. Our author, Mercy Denton has constructed an intriguing story that follows the complex and evolving emotional journey of the two main characters when they are reunited at the Club Lust Auction. Throughout the story, there is a subtle blend of tension and tenderness which creates a satisfying and unexpected resolution. The side characters play an integral part in this novel which showcases the power of communication and the enduring strength of a true connection. Kinks and steam abound in Sold to Her Enemy.
This book was about McKenna. Her life went to crap when her father disappeared. Her father was accused of stealing $ from his company that he formed with his best friend. Her and her mother lost everything. They had nothing and McKenna had 2 jobs in order to put a roof over their head. Her mother was so depressed that she did nothing but stay in the apartment. McKenna was given the information for club lust. At the end of the weekend she would get 500k. That would help her get her life back on track. She wanted to be a Vet and that was taken from her. Adrian is the one that bought her for the weekend. They had history and a lot came out during this weekend and even months later. This is a great book.
I am enjoying the Night to Remember series immensely, and Sold to My Enemy is a wonderful addition. This is the first book I have read by Mercy Denton, and I have now added her books to my TBR list. Her style of writing pulls you in from the start and makes you sad when the story ends. Adrian and McKenna are designed for each other, but family secrets, sins of their parents, and a sybling's interference keep them apart. A desperate woman, who auctions herself off to save her mother and her own dreams, A powerful man out for revenge. Can Adrian and McKenna discover what they have lost in a weekend to remember? mercy-denton
In this night to remember auction book we meet McKenna who decides to be put for auction to get out of poverty. We also learn how much she loathes a man named Adrian for what he did to the family business. What happens when Adrian is the purchaser on the fateful weekend?
We meet Adrian, billionaire who has a deep burning love for McKenna if only he can get rid of some resentment he still holds against her and her family. He purchases McKenna with the sole purpose of making her pay for saying no to going out with him growing up.
Sparks fly in this contemporary novel! There are heavy bdsm themes and degradation. But you can see the love as well that they both share for one another.
Holy smut Batman! If you are looking for a book that is more smut than plot, this is it. But don’t get me wrong, the plot was on point too though it wasn’t really the focus. The hate/hate relationship between the two main characters was the driving force. The writing was great and everything flowed but this one was difficult for me. I am not big on humiliation/degradation so this particular D/s relationship was a bitch much. There were also times that boundaries seemed to be crossed or ignored and consent is huge in the bdsm community. Other than the particular dynamic not being my cup of tea the book was great and worth the read.
Book 3 in the night to remember shared universe. This was a fast paced and spicy read. Friends to enemies to lovers, drama between their father’s company caused hatred to bloom between them. Add in a crazy sister that felt like McKenna didn’t deserve Adrian and it leads to a lot of misunderstanding and pain. Initially Adrian bought McKenna at the auction to get back at her but then when everything is revealed they fall back into each other. The plot to spice ratio definitely falls more on the spice side but not in a bad way. I will say the revelation at the end confused me a bit but not enough to pull me out of how much I throughly enjoyed the story.
Sold to Her Enemy is the third book in the A Night To Remember Auction series. This can be read as a standalone.
After Adrian was rejected by McKenna years ago, he got his revenge, years later by purchasing her through A Night To Remember Auction. I know not many people are fond of the miscommunication trope, but I felt it was really well done here. This was an absolutely delicious enemies/rivals to lovers story. I mean, OMFG the tension! It did get a little repetitious, but overall an entertaining read. This is my first introduction to Mercy Denton's books, but definitely going to check out the rest of her books!
Wow! I dont know where to start. This book is brilliant, I loved it. For me personally it was a page turner, I actually stayed reading until 3am... Fantastic story, brilliant characters. There are twists and plots that I didn't see coming, and definitely some parental obstacles that blow up. I don't want to give too much away in that regard. There is alot of intimate content, which i personally love but some may find that too much as it gets pretty detailed in description (loved that) I would pay attention to the trigger warnings for your own sake. I cant wait to read more of this authors books.
Desperate times and a sudden fall from grace has left McKenna willing to do anything to get her dreams back on track. When the opportunity raises for her to make a lot of money very quickly she agrees despite the cost. When she agrees to sell herself for a weekend she has no idea that the man responsible for her current situation ends up buying her. Lack of communication and false assumptions on both ends have the two hating each other despite wanting to be together. Great storyline and very easy to read!
This is the third standalone in A Night to Remember Auction shared world. It is enemies to lovers and is deliciously depraved. The plot was just okay. It was a bit confusing and the characters outside of the main couple seemed pretty flat and one dimensional. The spice is what saved this book. It has humiliation, degradation, power exchange, toys, bondage, impact play, 🍑 stuff and more. It was hot hot hot!! I loved the predicament bondage in the epilogue as well. Don’t see that much in books.
A hot enemies to lovers is next in this shared world. McKenna and Adrian grew up together, but it all came crashing down when McKennas father was caught doing shady business. McKenna has firmly believed that her father was innocent, but Adrian was responsible for creating the chaos her life became. She ended up in that auction out of necessity to help her and her mother. But she didn't expect the blast from the past in the form of her biggest enemy. This was steamy and had a ton of schmink. Excited for the next book.
I'm loving how all the books in this series are so different from each other. Each book covers a different trope or type of relationship. That being said, this particular book didn't have my usual preferences when it comes to tropes. But it wasn't bad. The spice was plentiful and varied. The plot provided some shocking moments you don't see coming. There were times the language got very repetitive. And other times it kind of jumped and felt like we were missing something. Regardless, i recommend this book.
