SCARLETT:
Pole dancing at the most exclusive ‘Gentlemen’s Club’ in the country is lucrative, though the men are anything but gentle. They’re all desperate to take the only significant possession I have–my virginity.

I’ve spent five years hiding in plain sight, burying my head in my books, courtesy of a scholarship at Dublin's most prestigious college. But now, for the first time in my life, I feel seen. Wanted. Desired. And I've awakened a need I never knew I had.

Enter James Beckett, a billionaire bachelor with a reputation as famous as his family’s whiskey empire, and he wants me to be his fake girlfriend until he conquers the next part of his empire.

He'll even tutor me through my final exams... and anything else I require tuition in...
Our arrangement will either secure my future, or shatter my world…

JAMES:
Yet another sex scandal means I'm heartbeat away from being fired as CEO from my own family's whiskey distillery, unless I can prove to my father and The Board that I’ve shed my playboy reputation.

The last thing I want is a showpiece society wife.

Especially when I'm obsessed with The Luxor Lounge's newest pole dancer.

At only twenty-three, Scarlett radiates an innocence that drives me wild. Turns out, my little dancer is a virgin.

Fooling around with my fake girlfriend was always part of my plan.

Falling for her wasn’t.

She's everything I crave, but everything my father forbids.

Even if I can convince him that Scarlett is the one for me, she’s been keeping a secret.

One that could wreck me...

Deserved 5⭐️

It was such a pleasure to read this book. I didn’t want the story to end. It was fun, so so sweet, hot and interesting. After so many dark books I craved this. Maybe it’s longing but I put it in my most favourites.

If I need to choose one word to describe this book I’d say 'smooth'. The story was steadily developing. If you need a rollercoaster of emotions, that’s not that book. I was giggling, melting, swooning, blushing and even crying.

James and Scarlett are a perfect duo. He’s confident but respectful, pushing but caring. She’s inexperienced but powerful, traumatised but strong. They’re so good together I don’t have enough words to describe. What I’ll say it that they match each other and I felt the chemistry and then love instantly cause it’s so easy to believe them. Aaand I know we love dirty talk. Here, she does it no less than him. 😉

Fake dating is not my favourite trope cos I don’t like it when characters deny their feeling for the most part. But here they both were very open, honest and straightforward. Everything the way I love.

It has everything a great romance book needs imo. It has plot (but not too twisted), it has spice (but well-balanced), it has characters’ arc (here it’s her. He’s pretty perfect from the start), AAAND it has NO BREAK-UPS and unnecessary drama.

Tropes:
Fake dating
Age gap
Billionaire MMC
V FMC
Found family (mostly in the end)
Insta attraction

‘Scarlett doesn’t normally do private dances and you never normally avail of them.’
‘There’s never been anyone worth availing of before.’

‘Can you stop saying fine “for you”? Like you deserve less?’ I do that too sometimes…

’James Beckett wants to ruin me. Who am I to stand in his way?’ We wouldn’t dare😂

’While you are mine, I am yours. You’re the only woman who gets to see me.’

‘Fuck, Scarlett, even the sight of you turns my world upside down.’

‘Oh, honey, I’d never make you crawl to me. You’re the one who brings me to my knees.’🤤

‘I won’t have some slippery CEO perving over my girlfriend. I’m perfectly capable of that myself.’ 😂

’When I look at her, I feel like I’ve come home.’🖤

I'm convinced that this book was found on a high school girl's laptop. Conflict gets resolved within a few paragraphs. The writing is just bad. Would not even recommend it to my own worst enemy. I didn't realised that I, the reader, would be the one getting wrecked.

Who knew the book she worried about would be her best yet? I absolutely had no doubt. Gallagher is a queen and Wreck Me is completely brilliant.

Meet the Beckett family, I’d like to get me a Beckett brother. A family who are rich, ambitious, determined and described in a way that they are completely desirable.

Wreck Me is up there with Sylvia Day in being THE BEST. It’s steamy in places but Gallagher will also take you on a wild ride of emotions. I feel as though she pulled me in and kept me hostage until I’d devoured the entire book. I need more like yesterday.

Everything about this book has given me a high quality reading experience. The characters are believable and felt real. Gallagher’s descriptions are rich and keep you feeling as though everything is familiar.

A real strength of Gallagher’s books are the strong females that fill the pages. Scarlett is another for the collection, despite her past, she remains genuine, determined and humble. I absolutely adored her.

This is a book which is completely unique and unpredictable. I kept trying to spot the wedge that would be placed but there was no way anything in this could be predicted.

Gallagher’s writing flows perfectly, it’s easy to feel as though you’re watching this unfold in front of you. This is a fabulous read with love, rivalry and steam packed into the pages.

I’ve read all Gallagher’s books and what I can confidently say is, this is the best yet. Gallagher is at the top of her game as has completely nailed it with “Wreck Me”. There is nothing negative which can be said about this one. Gallagher is one of the best.

Wreck Me is a book that absolutely deserves all the praise and recognition. Everything about this book has been an utter delight to read. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this book to everyone.

Ps- I happen to know that Gallagher has a male editor and it still makes me giggle reading some of the content knowing this. As an avid Gallagher reader, I can safely say this is a work of brilliance.

As expected

Well written with a loose plot. I really can't abide when the premise is just basic communication.

Millionaires don't cut it anymore, dime a dozen. If you're not a billionaire then no point writing romance books. I personally don't know any billionaires only the ones featured in the headlines and I can't think of one that is handsome, desirable and below 50. They must be the ones who don't flaunt their wealth.

But back to the book, I stayed for the denouement which was exactly as I'd anticipated.

A steamy new series edged with sexy danger!

This first book by LA Gallagher, who many of us know and love as Lyndsey Gallagher, sets us up for a steamy new sexy, darker-edged series with a hint of danger. If this first book is any hint, I can’t wait to get my eyes on the rest of the Beckett brothers!

James Beckett is CEO to Beckett Enterprises, and a confirmed bachelor, until his playboy ways catch up with him and he meets the most gorgeous pole dancer at an exclusive club, Scarlett. It’s a fait accomplis when he sees her innocent sexiness. Scarlett has a secret, but can’t refuse his offer.

The heat simmers until it catches, burns, and they can no longer stand it! I love the relationship of convenience and that sexy slow dance until resistance is melted.

There is danger, longing, teasing, and a pesky v-card in the way to love, but in true Gallagher style, the sexy sweet is there — and I’m so there for it!

happily wrecked

My first LA Gallagher book and I loved it! Scarlett and James’ story was full of passion, secrets and lots of “education”. LA Gallagher pulled me in with her writing while Avery Caris and Sean Masters kept me hanging on every word with their performance. They brought the heat to the passion and the angst/tension to the secrets. Oh and don’t even get me started on the accents! That alone made me melt.

This story and these characters kept surprising me. Just when I thought I could predict how something happened or how someone responded, the characters would take a different path! I wish some of the paths they took would have been a tad more intense, but I still enjoyed how things played out.

The epilogue has been ready to dive into the next book. I’m so curious to see what is going to happen next in the Beckett family.

3.5 🌶️

I’ve been waiting to start this series, and now I’m disappointed I waited so long! I absolutely love a brothers series—especially when there’s plenty of banter—and this one delivered.

James and Scarlett were perfect in every way. Scarlett’s innocence paired with her strength made her such a great heroine. Their relationship might have started off feeling fake, but James knew from the start he couldn’t let her go—and I adored that he knew exactly what he wanted and never strayed from it.

The character development was fantastic, not just for James and Scarlett, but for the rest of the brothers too. I can’t wait to dive into the next book and see where the series takes me.

Overhyped. Virgin, highly educated stripper, Scarlett, meets playboy billionaire, James, and it's love at first sight. If you're reading this for the spice, then yes - it's for you and it's real good. It had a plot, but if you're looking for a plot that feels believeable, then don't. Don't get me wrong, I liked the story, but it got a little cheesy and far-fetched toward the end. BUT the end...I did not see it being that about Caelon...onto the next.

This just didn’t do it for me. I normally rip through books in less than a day and this one took me 3 days to read because it was cheesy and I just kept losing interest.

Wreck Me
By: LA Gallagher

“Being objectified so sexually should be debasing, but after years of lying low, the rush of being watched so intently floods my flesh. It is empowering. Enthralling. Addictive. I understand what Avery meant. The hedonistic draw of being desired. The weight of all those eyes.”

“I want to corrupt her so badly, but she also provokes a mad urge to protect her, take care of her, lavish her beautiful body with affection and attention.”

“They say knowledge is power, but in this instance, I feel like I’ve stumbled on my weakness. My weakness, Scarlett, is you.”
“I don’t want to be anyone’s weakness.” I whisper.
“The interesting thing about weaknesses is, if you can conquer them, they eventually make you stronger.”

This book is so addicting! Scarlett is a fighter and survivor, trying to hide from her past. James is the CEO of his family company and needs to clean up his image. Together they are just hot! Ever before they have s*x the sexual tension between these two is so hot! And when they finally give in, d*mn! This is an addicting, spicy read!

The storyline was unique, sure, but everything that was built up—the tension, the stakes, the climax—ended up getting resolved off-page. Seriously? After all that buildup, we don’t even see the resolution?

Also, I’m getting a little tired of romance books relying solely on sexual tension to explain why the characters like each other. Like, yes—I enjoy spice! But I still want to believe in the connection. Give me something deeper than just lust.

That said, the writing itself was fine, and there were some funny moments. The spice was definitely good. But overall? Predictable. Nothing really stuck with me after finishing it. Might be time to reach for something with a little more emotional depth next.

Billionaire MMC and virgin FMC is one of my favorite tropes if done well and this one definitely was! I loved James and Scarlett’s relationship from their first meeting and I absolutely adored how their love story unfolded. I’m not always a fan of a slow burn but this one was just right and the tension throughout was just chef’s kiss. I’ve loved everything I’ve read by this author, though this one might be my favorite. Can’t wait for the rest of the brothers’ books!

Absolutely loved!! Really enjoy Gallaghers writing anyway and think this new series is going to be brilliant.
Spicy and such a good easy read, not as dark as I was expecting it to be but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Loved James and Scarlett and hope that the overarching story runs through the whole series 😊😊

Her virginity might as well be a third main character.

Umm okay so this book had concepts of a plot and story but it fails as it is just another romance book written after 2020 (trope driven and dumb). The fmc needs money for college, her tuition is covered but like she has debt and other expenses and her best friend is a stripper at like the best spot so she gets hired. The fmc becomes the most beautiful girl there because ofc and catches the attention of mmc. The fmc is also the only(?) girl who doesn’t sell sex and the mmc ofc never pays for it. After meeting when she tells him she’s a virgin he basically falls in love and there is long extended convos about how could she be a virgin she’s so hot. Also bc again her appeal is that she’s an innocent virgin her boss wants her and like idk wdym she’s so hot everyone in this billionaire club is willing to pay thousands to fuck her. And also I was confused at the amount of money she wanted cuz she said she was making like 4k a night and then eventually she does a private dance for mmc where she makes like 50k like at a certain point it was confusing why she still needed money.

Continuing on they fake date but her condition is she doesn’t want to have sex, probably 2 chapter later he makes her cum in a night club so idk the point of that. The rest of the book is predictable and boring with nothing really happening outside of a ‘big’ reveal that the reader has known the whole time. Also spoilers I guess but he proposes will they have sex and it’s just bro ew

Scarlett cannot wait to graduate from college and leave Dublin to discover the world and feel safer after the horrible things that happened in her past. Meanwhile, she has to take a job as a pole dancer because of her financial struggles.

James is a billionaire who is the CEO of his family's whiskey company. He does not sleep with the same woman twice and is not willing to pay for sex. However, when he sees Scarlett, he feels tempted to reconsider these believes, but she makes it clear that her virginity is not on sale. Due a recent scandal, James has to find a girlfriend to prove that he is settling down. So, he offers Scarlett a job as his fake girlfriend, but both of them cannot deny the attraction that they feel as their pretended relationship develops.

What I liked: The book is entertaining and easy to read. The author does a good job building the attraction between the main characters. I enjoyed how James' family was portrayed and the lack of unnecessary drama in the plot.

What I didn't like: It's pretty common in the billionaire prompt, but I felt that Scarlett depended too much on James, especially considering her past. The conflict of the story was resolved too easily, but I guess it will be explored more in the next book of the saga.

I'd like to thank the author and Book Sirens because I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Scarlett starts working in a gentlemen's club as a facer, where James, the owner of Beckett's Whiskey, sees her and is enchanted. Now with an scandal that he has to make forget, he wants her help.

James has It all, rich, sure of himself. He shows in the book how to try to be the best version of himself.

Scarlett comes from a difficult past, that she's trying to hide from. She's a good girl with the wrong family.

I liked how their relationship evolved and how James tries his best. I always like from this author that there are no really big three part break-ups.

There were two things that I didn't like of the book, the beginning, the gentlemen's club environment, too much testosterone wrongly placed. And the last part, which is really the beginning of the next book, I didn't like the when, the how and the who, I expected something different for that character.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
