This is a spoiler review, it's the reason they broke up.

They were together young and she doesn't tell him she gets pregnant and has his daughter adopted for 10 years.
She has her reasons, they are young, neither would have much family support due to circumstances but still.

Not for me.

I knew Harper & Joe’s story would be an emotional one. I wasn’t prepared for the raw, gut wrenching pain they would both feel. Best friends beginning in third grade that blossomed into a first love, first heartbreak and subsequent separation spanning 10 years.

They were both so young. Joe was all in, fully committed and ready to marry after HS graduation. He envisioned their future and nothing would deter him from having that life. Harper needed more time. Losing her mom at a young age left an immeasurable void in her heart. She had doubts and was insecure about many things, needing time to mature and gain confidence. An unexpected situation caused Harper to make choices on her own, the ramifications driving her actions for the foreseeable future and pushing them apart.

Harper repeatedly warned Joe once he knew the truth he would hate her. This fear paralyzed her, shutting him out completely was her way of coping. Joe loved her and could not comprehend what happened.

I’m not going to lie or sugarcoat it, I had to grab tissues so many times. Found myself sobbing at one point. This is an intense story of letting go, finding the courage to be honest with yourself and others, healing and forgiveness.

It’s a beautiful story. I highly recommend.
I am so happy Katy opted to fully explore the Stewart family. I await the rest when she is ready.

⭐️3.5/5 🌶️4/5 🍀11/20 📚63/240

🇺🇸This was a great story about love, hard choices, and forgiveness, which are things you want to find in a second-chance romance. The chemistry between Joe and Harper was amazing, and I love the snippet of their first relationship, how their friendship blended slowly into a love story, and how genuine and beautiful this relationship was.

Harper’s traumas and how they changed her are really well written, so it’s somehow easy to understand why she makes the choices that end up breaking her relationship with Joe. Easy to understand but a lot harder to empathize with, because Joe was honestly the best man I’ve ever read about. His passion, his sunshine, his never-ending love, and his hope were the most beautiful things to witness and my heart really broke for him during this book. At some point, I almost felt like he deserved better and wanted to cocoon him and protect him at all costs.

But this story is also a story about forgiveness and I think this part was really well written. Both Harper and Joe didn’t jump any step and waited to heal on their own before deciding they wanted to be with each other.

That being said, I wanted to address something that bothered me in this story.

[⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️]

….. I hesitated a lot before writing this part but I feel like the writer didn’t handle the talk about abortion very well and that’s the reason I gave this 4 stars. She makes it sound like that awful thing you do to another human. She uses words like « kill » and « murder » and Harper says at some point, talking about the baby she gave for adoption « She deserved to live ». Harper decided not to go with the abortion when hearing her baby’s heartbeat for the first time and I feel like there was a statement here that I don’t like very much since I’m pro-abortion and all. At some point, I felt like it was not only what Harper was thinking and feeling but also a general message of anti-abortion, and I wasn’t comfortable with it.

[⚠️END OF SPOILERS⚠️]

So yeah, in conclusion, this was overall a good read. The writing is good, the characters are amazing and their love story is very emotional and poignant. Joe is the best character ever and I felt for him. I just didn’t appreciate the message behind Harper’s choice and I think it could have been handled better.

Harper & Joe 🥹 What can I say? When I read Tanner, of course I was enthralled in his story. But you can’t help but love all the Stewart’s of Skagway so when I got a chance to reader Harper’s story, I was so excited! You could feel the tension between Harper & Joe in Tanners book and it very much carried over into Harper’s book.

Harper is a second chance romance story. Joe and Harper were high school sweethearts, each other’s first love and first everything, really.

When Harper and Joe graduate high school, they are still very much together and very much in love but with college looming on the horizon, Harper knows things are going to change. Not only that, she is still grieving the loss of her mother as a child. She lives with the fear that everyone she loves, she will lose. Including Joe. And though they try to separate for the first few months of college, their love for one another is just too great. Until Harper does experience an unexpected loss and she separates herself not only from Joe, but her family.

Fast forward ten years, and Joe and Harper are both back in Skagway and the pull they felt all those years ago is still there. But Harper is still unable to speak of her loss and doesn’t want to bring it up to Joe but the way I see it, fate had other plans for these two.

They were drawn to each other in elementary school and that invisible string never ceased to exist between the two. What their relationship went through was heartbreaking and sad, but what they built together from that heartbreak was beautiful and lasting.

There were times I was so frustrated with Harper but I can understand where she was coming from with distancing herself from Joe. And Joe is just such a big sweetie but there were some instances I wanted to shake him, too, even though he never truly gave up on his love for Harper.

Honestly, this book was just so beautifully written. I love the flashbacks we get to better understand the relationship between Harper and Joe. Needless to say, I am in love with this series already and I cannot wait to read more about the Stewart’s of Skagway 🥹

Harper. My fellow readers. I have to give this book a ten star review. As usual, from this author her writing touches deep within my soul. The journeys that the main characters go through from beginning to the end of the story, is so strong and very emotional.
How can words have such a powerful impact on a person’s emotional state? I don’t know, but I will tell you this. Harper is a bloody good book to read. The plot is absolutely fascinating. It’s written so beautifully and brilliantly.
I really didn’t want the story to end. Skagway has become the it place for vacationing, if one is looking to get away and enjoy the peace and comfort of a small town. The setting was perfect for the characters and the storyline. The story shares with you how the town is an important backdrop to both plot and storyline. The characters makes it known that the town plays a very significant part in their lives, and who they are.
Hands down, reading the story for me was so, so easy. From the first word it’s like your imagination plays the book out like a movie. It’s not funny, but when you look up from the book, you realize you’re almost at the ending and it’s three in the morning. The wording and dialogue is wonderfully written. Keeping these tools simple allows the reader to enjoy the book more.
The readers will become more engaged with the book and understand where the main characters point of view comes from. The main characters, Joe and Harper are award winning and spectacular. Their characters are so powerful. From the beginning to the end you can’t help but to root for these two, to come to some common ground. Both characters are strong, opinionated and has the biggest heart the size of Texas.
Most of the fantastic entertainment comes from the two. Joe and Harper will draw you into their story and never let you go. That is a romance that fantasies are made of. The person who I think grew the most is Joe. Joe seemed so young and lost at the beginning of the book, even though he’s the towns sheriff.
As the story ends, he has this aura of a proud man, papa and soulmate. To me Joe learned a lot when he was on his own. His cousin Sandra was a terror, but Joe luckily had the cooler head. Harper is meek, but also at times opinionated. Her character lived for seeing everyone else happy.
I enjoyed and loved everything about the book. I consider this story and how it was written, the best way to get lost in a book and never return. I give this book two snaps and, a twist. Until next time my fellow readers. Read on!

This book took me by surprise. I read it directly after reading Tanner and I wasn't expecting such an emotional roller coaster.
I fell in love with Harper and Joe's young love and was rotting for them all the way till the end.
The book had a few twists snd turns and although I kind of predicted them, I was amazed by the way the author handled them.
A ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ book for me and I can't wait for the rest of the series

Harper and Sawyer are returning a family to their ship’s port but Bryce, a little twerp needs to pee so they’re forced to stop so he can go to the bathroom. The father, mother & daughter all stop to get drinks and snacks at the camp store and wind up running to their ship’s portas it takes them over two hours to cross the border from US into Canada. The family makes their ship but leaves the van a mess and doesn't leave a gratuity for Sawyer and Harper.
Harper and Parker, sisters who help run their family's campground in Alaska are the second and fourth children out of six children.
The twists & turns in this book gave me screaming, crying and even laughing.
I love this family & can't wait for the rest of the siblings books

When they were young, Harper and Joe loved each other deeply. But she broke both of their hearts by keeping a secret that caused them to go separate ways. Now, years later, Joe is ready to be happy again, and he can't imagine his life without her. So he decided to fight for their love.

They are still in love with each other, but she knows that the secret she is keeping will cause them more heartbreak. But even then, she stands her ground, knowing that she did the best thing possible. Joe is an incredible man. He loved her so fiercely and deeply. But I have to be honest - Harper's secret shattered him, and he did hesitate. I actually don't blame him. I understand her reasons for keeping everything for so many years, but he should have been included in that decision.

Their story was an emotional second chance full of secrets, angst and a very deep love that lasts for a lifetime.

Even though I am not completely on board with Harper's decisions, I quite enjoyed reading their story.

This is book two in The Stewarts of Skagway series and it is Harper and Joe’s story and omg what an emotional read. Harper and Joe have history because not only were they each other’s first in every single way but also so in love with each other and looked forward to a future together until something happened that completely torn them apart. Now ten years later and they still lived in the same town and there attraction, chemistry and connection was still as strong as ever and neither stopped loving each other but they can’t ever be together again. Harper is a tour guide for their family business and Joe is the local sheriff so they see each other all the time but never speak because Harper has a big secret that nobody knows about not even her family and if it is ever revealed it would cause disappointment, hurt, damage, hate and upset so that is why she keeps her distance from Joe especially as if he knew her secret he would never forgive her so that is why they can never be together no matter how much she still loved him and she knew that her love would never go away but she had to live with what she had done. When something happened to Harper that she never thought would be possible ever again it brings even more complications and that is when she realised that she had no choice with what she had to do next but how will Joe and her family react with the news. Wow this book takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions that will have you in tears so make sure that you have the tissues ready. I read this book in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down and had to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next. Harper and Joe had such a unique connection but many mistakes were made along the way and now they need to try and let go of the hur, betrayal, bitterness and anger so that they can work together to have a understanding, forgiveness, compassion and communication if they are ever going to get a second chance of happiness and have the future together that they always wanted. I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series.

This is book 2 in the Stewarts of Skagway by Katy Regnery.

Some background first about the town of Skagway to help you place yourself. Skagway is a small town along the Alaskan coast in southeast Alaska. The town was important during the Alaskan gold rush since it was a stop on the way to the gold fields. These days, the town is better known as a popular stop for cruise lines. The town is basically a historical town and it plays up on this history for the tourists. But the important thing to keep in mind is that there are people who live in this town and the surrounding area every day, year in, year out.

Harper Stewart grew up in the Skagway area since birth. She and Joe Raven first really met in third grade and instantly fell in love. This love continues up until today when they are both in their late 20s/early 30s. But as with any long term romance, Harper and Joe have had their struggles over the years.

Joe Raven is now the sheriff of Skagway and still in love with Harper despite her wanting nothing to do with him. Harper left Skagway and went away to college but something happened to her while she was away. Since Harper returned back to Skagway, she has avoided Joe until one fateful night when things happen. And this is where the story really starts.

Both Joe and Harper need to learn about forgiveness before they can move on. As Harper's grandmother says to both of them "Forgiveness is no easy feat, kids. It's hard. It takes mindfulness and intent. As far as I can tell, there are six steps to forgiveness."

This book isn't an out of the park stay up all night read for me but it is worth a read. I am curious as to what happens in the rest of the series with Harper's siblings. And this book is a stand alone so don't feel like you need to read book 1 before reading book 2.

I did receive a copy of this novel as an advance reader copy from the author in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

This is the second book in the Stewarts of Skagway romance series and its full of love, heartbreak, and a second chance that seems impossible even when all hope is buried under years of regret and broken trust, but Harper and Joe breathe life into something broken and make it beautiful.

Harper Stewart and Joe Raven are destined to be together. End of story. Seriously, if there ever was a couple written in the stars, it is these two people. They first meet in the third grade and become fast friends who then become so much more as they age. Their lives should be perfect, like I said, their story is written in the stars, but unfortunately distance and hard life choices separate them until their story is broken and torn. Now, after ten years apart Joe wants another chance. He's tired of waiting for Harper so they can begin a future together. Harper goes so far to avoid him every time he sees her that she won't even make eye contact with him. But...there's a good reason why Harper's been distant and she doesn't want to break the man who still holds her heart, even after a decade apart. Joe may never forgive her if she breaks down and looks him in the eye, much less talk to him, or do all the other things her heart has been craving after years apart.

Harper is stubborn and set in her ways, but it sunk in later through the book as to why she was the way she was and she won me over and totally earned my respect. Where as Joe is amazingly sweet. This is a man who has held on to the thought of Harper for years, even when she wasn't there, but every man does eventually have a breaking point and my heart stuttered and cracked when Joe, the eternal optimist, felt pushed to that edge.

This story is full of turmoil and grief, but it will prove that love is stronger if you can survive the hard stuff together.

Also, I don't have to say this often when it comes to Regnery's books, but for this one, read any content warning that she has posted.

Back to the small Alaskan town of Skagway and even smaller town of Dyea we go with the second novel in Katy Regnery's The Stewarts of Skagway series. Harper is a second-chance romance featuring Harper Stewart, the thirty-year-old titular character and a tour guide for her family's business, and Joseph Raven, also thirty and Skagway's sheriff. These two met as kids, fell in love as teens, and then went their separate ways a decade ago, with Harper refusing to speak to Joe the last five years. The thing is, Harper still loves Joe, and there was never a question of the latter's enduring feelings for the former. But you see, Harper has kept a secret from Joe and her family for years, and she knows that once they find out what it is, her family will be disappointed and Joe...that undying love he has for her will undoubtedly be quashed. Then life hands them a heck of a twist...

I've been really curious about Harper and Joe's history--and whatever awaited them--every single time they happened to be in the same place at the same time in the Stewarts of Skagway series starter, Tanner. As I started reading their book, my suspicions as to what led to Harper basically ending things with Joe were proven right. I admit that I was torn about the whole situation and the aftermath of the secret being out in the open. My heart broke for both of them, and I could empathize with their respective stands. I also wasn't a hundred percent sure if what Harper did was allowed by law in the state of Alaska--my research hinted that it wasn't, but again, I didn't do a deep dive--but I either way, while she had her rights, Joe had his as well. In short, I had thoughts and feelings and all of that stuff, but again, I saw it from both perspectives and I understood. In the end, I love when a story evokes emotions out of me, which is why Harper gets four stars.

I don’t know how Katy Regnery pulled it off.

I spent almost the entire first half of the book thinking Harper was absolutely unlikable.

I really struggled with some decisions that she made, and how closed off she felt to me as a character. I had a whole list of reasons I didn’t like her, and I was well prepared to write about all of them in my review.

But then.

Then.

My heart warmed to her. And it was not all of the sudden. There was no one thing that was said or done that changed my perspective on Harper. In fact, I think my feelings about Harper changed as the way Joe felt about Harper changed. His love warmed my heart. And I was able to see her through the loving lens of his eyes, instead of the hypercritical lens of my own.

What sort of sorcery is that?!

So, yes. Harper is not a warm and fuzzy character. But Joe is. And he had my heart from the get-go. I adored him. Even when he wasn’t the best version of himself, I wanted to wrap him up and hug him so hard.

In the end, this was another beautiful Katy Regnery love story. I am really enjoying my time in Skagway, and the learning the dynamics of the wonderful Stewart family. I love how they are – each of them – perfectly imperfect. And I love how their love stories embrace even all their imperfections. I cannot wait to see what’s in store for Hunter! ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

Harper and Joe’s story was a beautiful one about heartbreak, hard decisions, and learning to forgive. Even in book one you could tell that Harper and Joe had this connection that never left them, but time and secrets kept them apart. Harper has held onto a secret that has crushed her soul for years, but she stands by her decision because it was what was best at that time in her life. Now, years later she is faced with the reality that she is going to have to come forward and let those close to her know her secret, even Joe. My heart shattered when she told him he would hate her when he found out and things between them definitely went sideways when the truth came out. Joe is an incredibly special guy. He is honest, loving, and would do anything to have his Harper again, but now he isn’t so sure they have a future. I could understand Harper’s decisions she made when she was faced with that difficult time and it hurt my heart for her that she felt all alone, but I also had a hard time coming to terms with it because Joe deserved to know and have a say. I’m not saying she shouldn’t have done what she did, but she also guessed or assumed she knew exactly what Joe would do/say when we will never know. Their journey wasn’t an easy one and they have a lot of challenges standing in their way, but will they be willing to put in the work it will take to forgive and move forward? Beautifully heartbreaking.

This series is the quintessential small town romance. It's set in Alaska which came as a breather because I could really imagine the wilderness, the snow capped mountains, the blue waters, the green fields and everything in between.

The series is based on the Stewart family living in a small town (Dyea) Skagway. There are six siblings among them Tanner is the second oldest brother and Harper is the eldest among the sisters. They have lived there throughout generations. They have a family business which involves lodging, taking a group of tourists on tours, hikes and story-telling about the rich cultural heritage of Alaska as the summer season is the main tourist attraction in Alaska the town is always bustling with tourists.

BOOK 2 IN THE SERIES: HARPER

Harper and Joe were childhood sweethearts. They met when they were 9 and fell in love when they didn't even know what love was. They were always together until they weren't. Harper's story is beautifully narrated but it left me conflicted all the same. Because the love like theirs is once in a lifetime kind of a love but that love has the capacity to crush you into a million pieces. The sense of freedom Harper craved was so much that she made the decision what she thought was best. The sense of longing Joe felt was so much that he never gave up.
The author set the narrative in a way that the plight of both the characters was accurately depicted and it was gut-wrenching.

PS: I love Joe and Harper.

Harper is book two in the Stewarts’s of Skagway series by Katy Regnery. Each book is about the Stewart siblings and can be read as a standalone. I really enjoy reading books set in Alaska and the author provided a wonderful, descriptive setting.

What’s this second chance romance about? “Harper Stewart and Joe Raven have loved each other since childhood. From elementary school to middle school, through high school and into college, they were each other's first crush, first kiss, first love, first everything... until something happened which tore them apart. Ten years later, Harper and Joe will finally confront the long-buried secrets that ended their relationship. Will the same secrets that almost destroyed them now threaten any chance of a future together? Or will the deep love they once shared give them the strength and courage to forgive?”

I did shed a few tears throughout this story. This book was an emotional rollercoaster and had all the feels…love, heartbreak, grief, trust, and forgiveness. I loved Harper’s Grandmother’s speech in chapter nine about the six steps to forgiveness and how the story unfolds with them taking these necessary steps.

I’m loving this series and can’t wait for Hunter and Isabella’s story up next!

Thank you to Grey’s Promotions and the author for an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.

4 ½ Stars for this emotional romance!

This book tugged at my heartstrings! I felt so sorry for Harper and Joe ... their timing was never right. I loved how Joe loved Harper so fiercely and for the ten years they were apart, he never gave up on her. I did guess Harper's secret early on, but as it came out ... like all secrets do .... there were elements that took me by surprise. I don't understand why she did what she did ... but it all made sense in her mind. The steam factor is off the charts in this book! This is a great addition to the series and I can't wait to see what happens to Hunter in the next book.

Harper and Joe were high school sweethearts and loved each other since elementary school. But when they went to different colleges their relationship began to unravel. After college Harper explores the world as she always wanted to travel. After five years of travelling, Harper goes home and joins the family business of providing tours to the summer tourists. After college Joe went back to Alaska and ended up becoming the Sheriff in his hometown. For the past five years Harper and Joe have been ignoring each other ... and that's hard to do in their small hometown. Everyone can see the love and longing in their eyes ... well everyone except Harper and Joe.

Harper ~ The Stewarts of Skagway #2 by Katy Regnery.

Simply...Brilliant.

I have been a fan of Katy Regnery for a few years now and have all her books (I think). Anyway, when one of her books comes out for a release you know 100% it will be a good one, and Harper does not disappoint.

Harper is a page-turner, it is full of everything you need in a great story
We have a first love, secrets, an unplanned pregnancy x two, (10 years apart) a small town, a second chance, lies, and forgiveness.

I found Harper to be written perfectly, the wonderful characters that are the Stewart family of six siblings, and the extra ones. The storyline is fabulous and feels real, with heartbreaking moments and a longing for a happy ever after. I find a connection when authors place their stories in real places. I Google for pictures and when reading I can see the settings, which makes it feel so real that you too are there.
I cannot recommend this book enough, I loved it I knew this was only book 2 but wow, Katy.
Harper needs more than 5*. Thank you, Katy, I don't know how you are going to top this one:) but I'm sure you will.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read, Great world building, Happily Ever After, Informative, Inspirational, Original, Page-turner, Romantic, Realistic, Tear-jerker, and Wonderful characters, HEA.

This one definitely took me on an emotional ride that I was not expecting 😭😭 The main focus of the book is dealing with/making hard choices and the consequences of them but also about forgiveness and understanding.

Joe and Harper felt really real to me. The way they dealt with everything was very easily understood and and it was easy to connect to them while they were dealing. I cant fault either of them for what they did or how they reacted to it. I could love them for how they dealt with it. It took time but they came to understand each others choices and respected when one wanted to be involved or wanted space.

These two loved each other so much I was easy to root for them. They love each other with their entire soul but now I feel like they'll definitely be a lot more appreciative and more understanding of each other.
I liked how they weren't as physically active with each other bc it truly gave them time to connect on a deeper level again. I absolutely loved them together.

My only complaint about this is that we didn't get to see them being parents. I would have liked to see that in the epilogue or an extra chapter. Just bc that was a big part of the book I was expecting a bit more in the end.

The author does a really good job of setting everything up for the next book and leaves you wanting more. Definitely need book 3!!

Once the reason for the fallout was revealed, I knew what was coming. This book wasn't it for me but for people who like the tropes involved in this book, it might seem to be a good read for them. This book made me feel sad and hurt and feel all the things that both the MCs felt, but I am personally not a fan of someone taking decision on behalf of someone else and if it were any other similar book with a family that was shit, hiding such things would have made sense to me but for a loving family like the Stewarts, I am not quite sure. And I feel a lot of threads were opened and couldn't be unpacked at once - like Sarah, Avery, etc.

There is one more thing I want to call out which I think might have been an issue to me only because I decided to read this book as a standalone and not a part of the series. The siblings and their order of seniority was confusing - not just in keeping track but also because the way they spoke, they either seemed too immature for their age or they felt too old. Like Parker spoke like she was older than Harper. Sawyer and Reeve spoke like they were still kids and the shock I had knowing Reeve had a job and was behaving that way. It was also confusing for me for quite some time to understand the jobs that these siblings and Joe had. But ig this issue happened to me only because I read this as a standalone? Not sure.

Harper and Joe have been in love since they were kids, but when they graduated high school on their way to college, Harper broke up with Joe. He didn't understand why, but Harper knows that everyone leaves. So rather she leaves him know before he meets someone else at college and leave her.

But then Harper goes theoigh somwthing traumatic, another loss for her and she distances herself from Joe and her family and broke both their hearts😔

Now it's ten years later, and both of them are back in town. Harper keeps to herself and Joe does what he does as the town Sheriff, not speaking to each other. Not for lack of trying on Joe's part. But fate steps in and maybe it's not too late for them after all...

I fell in love with this story. Through out the story all I wanted was the see what finally broke these two. Joe was awesome, he told Harper he would love her forever and he never stopped. These two had so to first go back before they could move forward with their relationship. I loved the story, loved the character and definitely want to read the next one💖

My first story from this author and I definitely definitely recommend it🥰

(Received an ARC.....reviewing voluntarily)

I love second chance books. I love the idea of two lovers drifting apart and coming back together. In this instance, there was a massive secret between them. Normally in books like this, I find myself siding with one character and being annoyed at the other. However, this book made me see both sides. I got why Harper made the decision she did and why Joe was angry about it. I found myself getting angry at her in one chapter and wanting to hug her in the other. I found myself simultaneously feeling sympathetic for Joe, but also thinking he was being harsh.

What I also found interesting is that there aren't really any villains in the story. Yes, Joe's cousin is a bit rude to Harper, but given the situation and her closeness to Joe, I don't blame her. I wouldn't have been nice to Harper if I were in her shoes. I do wish that we had gotten a bit more of their interaction, but it this is a romance and the sole focus should remain on Harper and Joe.

While this is the second book in The Stewarts of Skagway, you don't need to read the first one to understand it. They both take place within the same time frame, but this story completely stands on its own.

Harper is the amazingly well written second installment of The Stewarts of Skagway series. This is Harper and Joe's story, which was hinted at in the first book Tanner. These two were together since they were young, but they've been apart for years by the time the book begins. It's clear that there are still feelings there, but there's a HUGE secret standing in their way. What happens when these two have the chance to be together again and the truth finally comes out?

Katy Regnery is one of my OG favorite romance authors, and it's her way of writing complexities in characters and the situations they encounter that makes her books what they are. Both of the MCs have such depth and are well written. Harper's the sort of closed off grumpy type when it comes to Joe, and while she had her moments where I really questioned her and her motives, I wound up loving her in the end. I never went through what she went through (you'll know what I'm referring to when you read it), but my heart hurt for her at times. Then there's Joe. He's such a loveable, loving cinnamon roll MMC, and I love his character so so much. He's loyal and wears his heart on his sleeve and loves so very hard. He couldn't be more of a doll.

And Harper and Joe's book is so much more than I thought we were getting when we were first introduced to them in book one, and I loved all of it. This book truly is an emotional rollercoaster that sucked me in from the very beginning. I felt all the feelings and smiled, cried, swooned, and ultimately fell in love with Harper and Joe's romance. I was a mess at times reading this book, but that's okay. Regnery made sure the ending was well worth it.

So, if you're a fan of emotional second chance romances, then this book is for you! It's well thought out and written, and that ending left me very satisfied. I definitely recommend it.

Welcome to Alaska and the Stewarts of Skagway! This is the second book in the series by Katy Regnery and it is about the oldest daughter, Harper. Skagway is a town that is full of tourists in the summer, where the town caters to the people on the cruise ships and is very small and quiet in the winter. Harper’s family runs a campground, as well as various adventures for the tourists.

Harper has been in love with Joe Raven since third grade. Joe feels the same about Harper. However Harper wanted to go off to college and see the world before she settled down. Joe just wanted to stay with Harper forever, settle down and have a family.

Ten years later they are both back home. Joe is the town Chief of Police and Harper is working for her family. The sparks are still as strong as they ever were, but Harper knows that it can never work again. There is a secret she has never shared, a secret that would destroy all hope of them forever.

The novel is not long, but contains a lot of emotional scenes and hope. The characters are people you would like to meet and hang out with. They are full of life and love. I loved the grandmother’s list of the steps to forgiveness. Harper by Katy Regnery is another wonderful read.

HARPER IS BOOK 2 IN THE STEWARTS OF SKAGWAY SERIES. THIS IS HARPER AND JOE'S STORY. THEIR STORY IS HEARTRENCHING AND WILL BRING TEARS TO YOUR EYES. JOE AND HARPER MEET IN GRADE SCHOOL AND ARE TOGETHER THROUGH COLLEGE. THEY ARE EACH OTHER'S FIRST CRUSH, FIRST KISS, FIRST LOVE AND FIRST EVERYTHING UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS THAT DESTROYS THEIR RELATIONSHIP. THEN JOE AND HARPER MEET UP AGAIN AND HAVE A SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE BUT WILL HARPER'S SECRET DESTROY THEIR CHANCE AT HAPPINESS?

I REALLY ENJOYED HARPER. I LOVE SECOND CHANCE ROMANCES WHERE THE CHARACTERS FIND LOVE AGAIN. HARPER IS AN EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER READ WHICH WILL LEAVE THE READER IN TEARS. YOU WILL SEE BOTH CHARACTER'S SIDES. YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHY HARPER MADE THE DECISION SHE DID AND WHY JOE IS MAD. I LOVE HARPER AND JOE TOGETHER. THEY WERE SO IN LOVE DESPITE ALL THE YEARS OF BEING APART. THE TRUTH NEEDED TO COME OUT. HARPER WAS CARRYING SO MUCH GUILT AND HEARTACHE AND SHE NEEDED TO TELL JOE THE TRUTH IN ORDER FOR THEM TO MOVE ON. I LOVE JOE'S CHARACTER AND HIS LOVE FOR HARPER. HE WAS SO MAD BUT HE WAS ABLE TO FORGIVE HARPER AND MOVE ON. I THOUGHT BOOK 2 WAS EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO READING THE REST OF THE SIBLING'S STORIES. I LOVE THIS TIGHT NITTED AND CLOSE FAMILY.
