René Goscinny (1926 - 1977) was a French author, editor and humorist, who is best known for the comic book Asterix, which he created with illustrator Albert Uderzo, and for his work on the comic series Lucky Luke with Morris (considered the series' golden age).
Creative, Hilarious laugh riot, Intelligence, Satire, Alternative history all rolled in one, you can read it again and again and again without feeling tired, instead you would be recharged if you are depressed!
These were favoured by my brother more than I, and I feel it had a great deal of influence over his sense of humour. Either way, another good gateway into illustrated stories for young boys. Much of the humour in them flies over young heads. Its a decent read with a few chuckles thrown in.
(6 year old's review) I love this series so much, it is my most favourite series till date. It was supposed to be my mom's but it now sits in my bookshelf. ha ha ha.
This is the best comic I have read so far, not only because it's awesomely drawn but has a great cast in exotic Gaulish clothes for everyone to enjoy. My favourite character would be Obelix who is innocent and his catchy phrases like, " These Romans are crazy" "I am not fat but only well-covered" brings a smile on my face. His bond with Dogmatix and Asterix is incredible. It feels so good, getting back to childhood.
