Marketing management Essentials contains detailed information regarding Marketing Management.

The first introductory chapter gives us an insight into the basics of marketing management.

The second chapter talks about Strategic Planning and Management. This chapter contains a lot of interesting information that I found very helpful

The third chapter tells us about Market Research. Most of the details in this chapter are pretty generic.

The fourth chapter is about Customer Relations. This is the most important chapter of the book.
The last chapter digital marketing tells us about the different digital marketing hards skills and soft skills that one needs to develop.

I love the way the topics have been arranged. Even complicated concepts have been beautifully explained in simple words.

If there is one thing that I’ve learned since I started taking blogging seriously, it’s that marketing is vital to success. It you aren’t marketing your work, how can you expect to attract readers? So when I was asked to review for Vibrant Publishers, I knew I wanted to utilize their Self-Learning Management Series and chose to focus on Marketing Management because I knew it would not only help me, but also help all of you who book blog too!

Because this is such a vital topic, and because I learned SO MUCH from this book, I’m going to write a separate blogging advice post on marketing to share even more of what I learned from this essentials guide, and only focus here on the actual overall book review.

Marketing is a super broad topic with many different branches, and part of the reason why people get DEGREES in this. So, to simplify and outline the essential, basic information you need to know about marketing management, Vibrant Publishers created this 120 page guide.

Marketing Management Essentials is rather cut-and-dry, with four chapters that are broken down into simple and readable segments that outline specific aspects of marketing- everything from an introduction of marketing management, to strategic planning and creating marketing plans, marketing research, and how to manage customer relationships.

The guide is targeted for readers who are marketing managers, or those whose goal it is to attain, possess, and increase customers by generating customer value. I know it’s sounds complex, but think of the marketing manager as the quality control of content and services to customers. Their job is to strategize and promote what they sell to their customer base. In book blogger terms, it’s what the blogger (or team of bloggers) does when they (all of you, book blog friends!) determine what, when, and where to post their reviews, and then how they decide if their readers responded well to the post.

As readers work their way through this book, there are plenty of diagrams and lists to help simplify the information presented. Additionally, the book is written in a way that takes you from start (intro to marketing, creating a plan, implementation) to end (customer satisfaction, etc) logically, so that if you were working on your personal marketing management, it’s almost a step-by-step guide.

Overall, Vibrant Publishers has made an easy-access introduction to marketing management, and I know that it isn’t the most exciting of reads (nonfiction is about the facts, not embellishment, after all) but it’s definitely worth the purchase. It’s chock full of valuable information in a compact, easy to digest way- hence the “essentials” aspect! To me, it was a great way to research on what I need to do for myself to achieve some of my blogger goals, as well as cost and time efficient. I try to make time for this sort of self and business improvement, and books are much easier for me to work into my schedule than classes or online tutorials. Besides, I don’t have to take notes- I can just highlight and flag!

WHAT IT IS ABOUT: To provide students, aspiring managers, market enthusiasts etc. with a basic guideline on what a marketing manager is supposed to do.

WHAT I LIKE:
✓ Easy and simple language
✓ Illustrations for better understanding of the concepts
✓ inclusion of only relevant information related to a particular topic

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
× No mention of four and seven P’s of marketing
× Chapters arranged in a haphazard manner
× Very few case studies

WHY READ THIS: To get an insight into the marketing discipline
