This was a great read with characters that I enjoyed. Mara was fierce and independent, and I wasn’t sure if she might be too strong for the hero, Jack. I had no room to worry as Jack was going to win his woman no matter what. I loved his determination. And while he was plenty strong enough to be this female alpha’s mate, he had such a fun, lighthearted way about him that I couldn’t help but love him.
This has plenty of action and drama along with a villain that was quite unique. I was completely caught up in everything about this story. The fact that the romance was equally balanced along with the other elements of the plot made me love this even more!

This book and Jack had me smiling a ton, delightfully surprised and keen to read more in the series.
Mara is the daughter of an alpha, fierce and independent she can kick ass. Jack may be human, but he's the perfect fit for her, determined and charming I loved him. During their mission to locate kidnapped/missing shifters and uncover who is experimenting on them, Mara finds herself taken, the villain of the story seeing her as the perfect Queen for his castle. The reveal at the end when it come to the villain revealing something - yuck.
There was a slight typo when it came to Mara's name, which happened a few times and had me double blinking a little.
Dual POV.
Despite being part of a series, this can be comfortably read as a standalone, although if you're like me after reading this, you're going to want more.

I'm so happy to get Mara's story. I loved the whole Maitland clan when we got introduced to them in the Elemental series. There is just something about this tight knit, shifter family that has you wanting more.
I'm really surprised and happy with the author's choice for her mate. It's not easy to make a human dominant enough to pair nicely with an already dominant female shifter, but LB Gilbert did it and she did it well.
I'm usually not a fan of dominant females, but Mara's character was a strong female without taking away her femininity. She wasn't stubborn or standoffish and it just made me like her character even more.
I'm hoping there will be more books featuring the Maitland clan. They are pretty entertaining and I would enjoy seeing Mara and Jack again.

I was so happy to see that this book was out. I loved reading about Jack and Mara, and how even though Jack is human he was able to help her protect her pack. At the start Mara does not like Jack, he gets under her skin in more ways than one and she never could figure out why.

Interesting and entertaining! A fun series! Jack is a friend of the wolf pack, but until a few clues recently, he didn’t know about the existence of shifters. He wants to know more, so he tries to sneak onto his wolf pack friends property; things get interesting when he’s caught by his wolf shifter crush, Mara. The wolf pack decides to team up with Jack, so they can work together to take down the evil corporation that is experimenting on shifters. Mara and Jack go on a mission together to do surveillance and to find out more about the evil Corp and hopefully save any shifters held prisoner. Things are getting dangerous for Mara and Jack!! Jack is the charming ladies man type; not my favorite personality, he’s a bit silly to me, but he is good for Mara; makes her lighten up a little. Mara is the strong, acts unemotional type, but she really wants someone to want her for herself not because she’s the alpha’s daughter. Jack is really sweet with Mara! Fun premise! Looking forward to reading more!

After the incredible journey through L.B. Gilbert's Elemental series, my expectations were high. While the second book in this series left me a bit disappointed, "Tooth and Nail" marks a delightful return to the engaging storytelling I've come to expect from Gilbert. This third installment recaptures the essence of what made me a fan: it's packed with suspense, action, and just the right touch of romance.

LOVED this book
If you love stories with feisty ladies who know what they want and know how to get it then you will love this one,. If you love stories with big sexy smart hero's who know how to treat the love of their life with respect and romance and will fight to the death to protect her then you will love this one If you love stories with mysterious villains and twists and turns that make you think then,,, you know it . A fast paced and brilliantly written paranormal action / romance story that will have you confused as to if you want to get to the end to know how everything turns out or not get to the end as you want to keep reading . Fun, romantic, full of super villains and gorgeous super hero's a real treat to relax with .

This story follows straight on from Kin Selection. Jack Buchanan has known the Maitland family for years and served in the Military with Connell and his cousin. He has done a few contract jobs for them and come into contact with Connell's twin Mara. Jack kept a copy of information he obtained in the last mission and this has shown him their shifter secret. He has dug deeper into the organisation they raided and learnt some disturbing information. Finding the Maitland's secret home and getting caught end up with Jack sharing his data and agreeing to lead a further raid alongside Mara. That is if Jack and Mara don't kill each other first. A great story full of action, friendship, trust, magic, greed and love. Looking forward to the next one.

Mara has been one of my favorite characters ever since we were first introduced to the Maitland pack, and I am so excited that we finally get her story. If I had been told to guess what her story would look like, I wouldn’t have come up with anything that looked even remotely like this book. Which makes it so much better in my eyes. There are so many fantastic twists and turns in the plot, that I don’t know what I can say about it without giving away the best parts. I knew it would take somebody very special to be Mara’s mate, but Jack blew my expectations out of the water. Not at all how I pictured it, but there’s something so perfect about this human mercenary that can hold his own with shifters being the mate of the most kick-butt she-wolf I’ve ever met. I can’t wait until the author brings us back to visit.

I love Jack! He is 100% warrior, with a side of humor. Hacker genius with bad-A** fighting skills and an unexpected new experience...love. For a player like Jack, he has no idea how to deal with it. Mara is the chief's daughter, the pack enforcer, strong, protective and as the enforcer can take care of herself. Jack served in the military with her twin, Connell, and her cousins and is close to the guys even though he's human. They are sent on a mission to destroy Denon before more shifters are kidnapped and experimented on. This book is high octane adventure, danger and romance. Neither Jack or Mara is ready for the intrigue they encounter. The monster they encounter is one that will linger in my mind for quite a while. This is a FANTASTIC read and I highly recommend it!

Until the unexpected happens and then the only way they survive is to embrace the bond, numerous twists and a few surprises leave Jack, Derrick and the rest of the pack on the back foot...how did they miss it?

Secrets uncovered? Fascinating but didn't alter Jack's mind. He felt a strong attraction towards Mara and was willing to fight to make her his, but it seemed that a human male and an alpha she-wolf could not be. Mysterious disappearances, an exciting and dangerous adventure, action, suspense, intrigue, deceit, a deranged villain, mystery, magic, romance and passion. Liked Mara and Jack's characters. She was smart, strong, decided and passionate. Jack was intense, funny, focused and confident. The villain was something from another world! I had not imagined everything that was behind him. A story with interesting twists, darkness and some horror. I was pleased that it gave continuity to Connor’s pack from the Elementals stories.

Mara and Jacks story is fun, action filled and yeah goes against what we already know about mates and that makes it all the better. Not only does Jack finally get his chance to find out about shifters in whole he also helps kick some butt showing skills no one expected. Mara is in her own world which is shattered by an unexpected source but she gets to prove her abilities and her worth before it's all over. Love the show of the strength of their love even when Jack goes all green with jealousy. Great fun and laugh out loud moments as well as hold your breath for the oh crap times, this author brings it all.

this was an amazing read Jack is a human very Alpha in his ways, He served with Mara's brothers and cousin in the army so he is in the know about shifters. He is called in to help when a Medical company begins kidnapping shifters from clans all over the world to help find them and get them free. But Fate has other plans up her sleeves as well.
This book is filled with magic, shifters, evil humans and good ones. as well as tons of action adventure and loads of emotion!

Tooth and Nail by L.B. Gilbert is such an amazing story to read. This is book number three in this amazing series that I just am so hooked on and can not wait to see what this author will write about next. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about wolf shifters, romantic comedy and paranormal romance.

Swoon worthy
Over all pretty cute.
Characters were intriguing and likeable.
I enjoyed the enemies to lovers trope.
The banter was pretty hilarious.
My only negative is for bring a series the MCs are intertwined.
Example :
The two main characters in book 1 are barely mention.
Book 2 MCs aren't mentioned at all.
Levi is mentioned in this book and book 1 but doesn't have his own.

This was an amazing read. A journey of intrigue, hostages, evil scientist's, shifters, witches and rescue.

Jackson Buchanan broke into Reliance research for Douglass Maitland and clan ,but when he sees what on the disc he goes to talk to mara only gets caught .when he finds out what is really going on he wants to help .Awesome story

Tooth and Nail is book two in the series and is an action packed story filled with drama, danger, suspense, magic, mystery, romance, unexpected twists that made this a page turner. I loved Jack for Mara and how determined he was to win her over. The writing is well done and the characters are well developed. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Almost as good as Missy the Werecat
I love a good shifter family adventure, and after reading a lot of shifter novels, this series is the best since Missy the Werecat. I am counting the days, 4 and half, until the release of volume 12. I hope that there are more stories of the Maitland pack and their many family members, especially Mara and Jack.

Unexpected Love
I chose the rating of 5 because i loved the book. It did have a bit of dark aspect to it which it was unpected how dark it was. I loved how their loved triumph through everything that was thrown at them.

I like the mate twist scene. They mated and thru no fault of her own but I'm sure the hand of fate. It also saved Jack and Mara's lives. I would have loved to see what other abilities the mates developed.
