Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
First thing that pops up for me and stands out.. The lack of the word EPLILOGUE.. It seems that at the end we jump head 2 months and get the impression that they JUST now follow thru with mate bite bonding.
This isn't up to Lynn Hagen standards for me. It's not the worst I've ever read or near the best. It IS entertaining at times and she does seem to have a knack for making readers (me) want to follow character progression and storyline.
So not only did the delayed bonding feel off but again there's a certain jaggedness to the whole storyline. I'm not sure how else to describe it besides the flow throughout the book is not smooth. I've read a few pages of the next book and am really wondering if chekota breeders is supposed to be the standard or not. No big clue in the blurb.. besides! the series is Predatory Hunters.. THAT is what I'm expecting, not necessarily mpreg..
Me mata saber qué habilidades podría tener.
In this second book we read about Trevor and Jordan's story. Jordan is on a business trip in Hawaii, he is tired and wants to relax and to do so he decides to go have a drink. Is in a bar near the beach that he meets Trevor and he is immediately attracted to the gorgeous waiter. Trevor is young and with a bad taste in men, all his ex-boyfriends were assholes. He has 2 job and barely can pay his bills, when one of his clients, an handsome man, starts to flirt with him he tells the man he needs to stop bcs he will get him fired and he cant lose this job. Jordan wants Trevor but at the same time he respects the other man wishes, but this doesnt stop him from asking the other man to come to his room after his job. Jordan isnt the only guy trying to get in Trevor's pants, a man called Miles, who is used to buy twinks and get rid of them when he is bored, wants Trevor in his bed and he isnt so kind or understanding like Jordan. Trevor tries to ignore the man and is only thanks to Jordan if the guy decides to stop his advances, at least for the moment. Later that night Trevor decides to go to Jordan's room and there they have oral sex. That scene was a bit forceful, Trevor seemed too submissive, accepting what Jordan was making him do and didnt seem really into it, but that was just my impression since Trevor knew what was gonna happen if he accepted Jordan's invitation. They dont do much more than this, and the next day Trevor leaves without a word. Out of the hotel, he meets again Miles and he is pushy like the previous day and annoying as hell. Luckily the man, that can't accept a no as answer, doesnt do much more than talk and insinuate that he and Jordan share their lovers. Trevor doesnt know if the man is telling the truth but sure as hell he isnt a whore and doesnt want to find out if he is lying. The next 2 days Trevor doesnt go to work, he isnt feeling well and he doesnt know that he is a Chekota Breeder and his body is changing to be able to carry a pup. When 2 nights later, he is back to work and sees Jordan he feels a strange pull towards the man, he knows that he was only a one-night stand for the handsome man, but he cant stop thinking about him and he wishes to be with him again and maybe forever. He doesnt know that Jordan feels the same and that he is pissed at the fact that Trevor ignored him and didnt meet with him the night after their first time together. Only later Jordan will understand why Trevor didnt come back to his room. Their attraction is mutual and too strong to ignore. In the end they go back to the hotel and have sex and only later Jordan will understand his mistake, Trevor is a Breeder and maybe now he is already pregnant with his pup. Trevor wakes up and Jordan tries to explain to him what is happening but the other man doesnt believe him, men cant get pregnant, Jordan is crazy. They dont have time to argue, bcs few moments later some men come to Jordan's room and try to kidnap Trevor and kill the panther. They shoot at Jordan and take Trevor.
The immortal dude of the last book(I think Rupert?) and also the crazy Alpha (Regis?) are back and still working together. The first wants to kill all the breeders still dunno why, and the other wants to sell them to other alphas.
Thanks to Domingo's help, one of the other panthers in Max's pack and his friend, Jordan is able to rescue Trevor. They go back to the pack's home and there Trevor meets Sari and the others. Finally after seeing the other pregnant male, he is starting to believe. Later when the pack's doctor will tell him that he is really pregnant he will punch Jordan in the face, and if the first time with Sari and Max that scene was funny, here I found it repetitive and annoying.
The book goes really fast and soon Miles is back. Some dude working for Miles and Rupert tries to kidnap Trevor and Sari, the humans fight and in the end Sari gets shot in the chest. Max arrives and kills that dude and takes Sari to the hospital. Luckily all goes well, after Sari gives birth to their daughter he starts to heal, it seems that the little girl has the power to heal. Miles that in the maintime had gone to Jordan's office and had tried to kill him, is now in jail and waiting for his sentence.
In the last pages of the book we see Jordan and Trevor, 2 months later, havign sex and being happy. Soon they will meet their son or daughter and they are really excited.

This one was more like 3.5 stars for me. .I thought the characters were well written but something abt the plot progression bothered me. It just felt off. Like something happened that shouldn't have or vice versa. It was good but not awesome. But I did really like that Trevor's birth mark was hidden until it wad too late. That was a cool mini twist
This looks to be a great series. I can't wait for the next book in the series. This one was better than the first. Trevor is just so real. I do wish the author would answer a question. How in the hell do the villans keep getting onto the property & into the house?
