Ugh, I still have the same feelings for this series! One of Oshima sensei’s bests for me. Kei-san and Tomoya are just so godly, what an attractive couple! I still love this so much! It’s more of a 3.5 now though (if only goodreads would provide half stars.) Ugh! Who am I kidding? I’m going to make it 4 stars now as I even rated it 3.75 on Fable 8 months ago! Also! I’ve been heard! I also just finished the sequel of this today, but it’s still not available on Goodreads for review. Would it kill you, sensei to create another one? I just can’t seem to let them go! Whenever I’m in a reading slump, this is the manga that always comes to mind as it’s comforting for me. Reviewed January 4, 2026

Kamome Oshima’s art style is always to die for!! I had to stare for hours! The story is too short that I actually needed another chapter just for the fluff because the concept is just so interesting—an idol having an idol of his own that will turn out to be his new bodyguard. Nakazaki Tomoya (22)is a famous idol in the group INCITE who has a crush on Kei whom he met 5 years back when he tried to get laid at a gay bar ..Although his attempt failed back then but Kei's encouragement back then helped the gloomy him to become a better version of himself .

What a precious gem of a manga😩💓!!

Their chemistry is so good and the story is very heartwarming, it's like Ohshima Kamome sensei is feeding me all of my favorite foods in one manga. Tomoya is an adorkable baby boy that wearing his heart on his sleeve that makes me want to hug him and protect him soooo bad! I know Kei is charming and all but what I love the most is how he took his time to see and processing all of the feelings that swirling inside him for Tomoya. Despite having such a "scary looks" Kei is actually pretty soft for Tomoya.

I truly loved this one, it made me laugh, giggle, and could not stop kicking my feet. If i cold i would have hieven this Manga thousand stars!! It definitely is now one of my favorite bls ever🥹!!!

This was literally so funny and adorable oh my god! I had such a good time reading this. The relationship is portrayed in such a healthy way (kudos to the author for making them actually not do anything when the mc was still underage [he's 17 and I think the love interest is in his early 20's when they first meet which almost leads to a 1 night stand, but then the love interest finds out he's not over 18 so he politely stops them] and having them meet again when they're older instead for the actual romance arc). It felt so realistic and the characters are so lovable. Tomoya having all that merchandise of Kei had me in stitches and I love that the ending kind of tied back to that with them trying out merch of Tomoya during love making (the safe kink exploration and consent in this was *chef's kiss*). It also has so many hilariously on the nose references to pop and fan culture! Kei's coworker being such a fanboy was super endearing. I think this is going on my favourites shelf, it was perfect! 5 stars.

what a weird start 😓 the concept of tomoya fighting off his own stalker while also being a stalker himself 😓 but it's actually comedic and their dynamic is perfect. an idol and a bodyguard? yup, still peak.

In Off Stage Love Side, Tomoya meets Kei by chance at a bar, and a simple compliment from Kei inspires him to pursue a career as an idol. Fast forward a few years, and Tomoya has made it big, only to find out Kei has been hired as his personal bodyguard after a stalker incident.

The setup is really fun—the idol who’s secretly crushing on his bodyguard, and the bodyguard who’s just trying to stay professional. There are some sweet and funny moments that keep it entertaining, but like most one-volume BLs, the story feels rushed. The relationship doesn’t get enough time to really develop, so it all feels kind of shallow by the end. That said, it’s still an enjoyable, light read, and I’m interested in the sequel to see if it fleshes out their dynamic and gives us the depth the story deserves.

Eine wirklich schöne Geschichte! Mochte den Idol-Aspekt sehr und die Charaktere waren alle respektvoll. Kei hat mir schon gefallen, als er den Schlussstrich nach Tomoyas Alterlüge gezogen hat und es war auch sehr witzig, wie ein Idol jemand anderen angehimmelt hat. Wie die beiden erneut aufeinandertreffen und wie sich ihre Story entwickelt, war glaubwürdig. Wenn ich mir auch ein paar mehr offensichtlichere Emotionen von Kei gewünscht hätte. Alles in allem aber wirklich ein schöner Band, den ich gerne weiterempfehlen werde!

This was really sweet and heart warming!

It was hilarious seeing Tomoya, the idol, idolize Kei so passionately. Though a bit much, I love how Tomoya got a lot of motivation from him and used that to work harder in being an idol.

Kei was so handsome and written very mature. Loved how respectful he was of boundaries and didn't make advances towards Tomoya until he found Tomoya was interested in him.

Overall, really sweet and hilarious read!

A Boys-Love manga with Bodyguard x Idol & a past connection. It's hilarious, cute, a bit horrific & made me tear up twice. It's one of the rare mangas which DON'T have school/college setting!
I'm glad I found this one on random searching, it had a little bit of everything haha. I read this in 1hr 20min.

Tomoya thinks of himself as an average, gloomy gay. At 17, he tried to lose his virginity in a gay bar but phew, when Kei finds his real age - he stops it & encourages T instead! Now T is in the Incite Idol group. T's hardworking, genuine, has low self-esteem but obsessed (not too weirdly, stans) with Kei 😂.

Kei is quiet, professional with a deadpan humor. He's a bodyguard & comes to guard T due to stalker threat (that woman got me by those horrific jumpscares 😳). I'm glad to be right that K hadn't recognized T instantly 😂. K's caring & I liked how K+T get close.

This story was refreshing as T already knew he's gay & K was up-front about being a top (I don't think I've seen that in BL, it's assumed!). There's lil misunderstandings/jealousy but no love drama, but some action!

I loved the closeness of Incite group. We don't see them much but they're cool & handsome. Manga is fast paced as it's so short, but I enjoyed it & it ends with sexy fun to boot. I always appreciate to see prep & actual care in it. Fun bonus! I'll def check out more by this author.
