John Morgan was senior editorial contributor at Conde Nast, and was the Associate Editor of GQ (Europe). As one of the UK's best-known writers on style, he wrote the weekly "Morgan's Modern Manners" for the Saturday Times, and was a frequent broadcaster and commentator on matters of taste, correct form, and dress. John Morgan also wrote feature for The Tatler, The Financial Times, The Daily Telegraph, the Sunday Times, The Guardian, and several Conde Nast publications.

An interesting glimpse into the 1996 version of advice for a segment of society that I unsurprisingly don't mingle in! Wittily written and frequently amusing. Bearing in mind that it was written in 1996 here is a quote about e-mail - "The essence of electronic mail is speed. There are over thirty million users of the Internet worldwide, any of whom can, if his or her address is known, be contacted at the touch of a button, though on crowded lines the message can take up to an hour to get through." I would quite like to read the most recent version to see what it is like.

I realize this was a serious minded book but I laughed out loud on many occasions while reading. And my poor girlfriends were getting calls while I read portions of the book to them between my hysterical giggles. I did learn many things and have put to use some tips. A good read.
