The series for me started to drag a little bit and but despite the repetition of the prior 24 books I did experience a renewed enthusiasm when the Anna chracter was introduced. I still regard William W.Johnstone as one of my favorites. However, I must add I became a bit surprised and some what exasperated that the subject of aliens came up in the discussions with Ben's team and a passing character. Surprised that Ben was a believer and exasperated with the forshadowing of the possibility that aliens are involved. I hope that after reading 34 books in the series that is doesn't end with some extraterestrial species behind the whole world collapse. It does seem inevitable though because there has yet to be discussion of who exactly did strike the entire world with germ and nuclear attacks simultaneously.

A little anticlimactic. Ben does find love, but leaves her to continue his wars. This book focuses on taking out Simon Border, the religious right wing nutjob who has gone from being just a normal rightwing nutjob to something much worse. Border has now become a pedophile monster. Of course, Ben pushes his forces back and reclaims territory, but he's in for a surprise when he finally meets Border face to face.

After chemical and nuclear war the survivors are slowly putting together new countries around the world, some are good and some not so good. General Ben Raines leads a strong military force to combat the evil powers which have sprouted around the world. Overall and interesting series. I recommend starting with the first book in the series.

Very good adventure series. Basically the forming of a new United States after WW3 and the story of the man who leads and forms it. If you like men's adventure stories you will enjoy it. Recommended
