The iconic Monopoly board


The Game.

Of course I played the game as a kid. As I got into college however I learned that there were “better” boardgames around (like Risk), and much later learned of the European boardgame designs which are far superior to Monopoly. They play faster, and the best ones don’t eliminate players from the game as Monopoly does, one at a time, through bankruptcy - so everyone keeps playing up until the end.

A few really good ideas are included among what is mostly a book of now-irrelevant strategies by a now-famous businessman (Priceline.com), since most ideas are now no longer legal in official Monopoly tournament play (such as offering free rent visits & other such "future promises", all of which are not allowed in tournaments).
