What happens after happily ever after?

After a devastating break-up that drove her to a school on the other side of the country, Juliet Stowe swore she'd never fall in love again. She wasn't counting on finding Lucas McNamara, the first guy she ever loved.

Finally reunited after years apart, Juliet jumps in headfirst--but obstacles to their happiness remain. Lucas' ex, Candi Mann, is determined to unearth Juliet's past and drive a wedge between them.

Lucas McNamara knew Juliet was special the moment he saw her. She's a girl worth giving up his player ways; a girl he wants to wake up to the next morning and every morning after. A girl that makes everything else go away.

All the BS with his parents? Irrelevant. His friends complaints that he's acting weird, losing himself in some girl? Ridiculous. All he needs is Juliet. And then he does something he never, ever thought he'd do. Something that could ruin everything…

I love to read and write romance. I moved from the East coast to California for love and stayed for the french fry burritos (though my fiance is pretty nifty too!).

Always is my first NA (New Adult) novel and I'm a part of the Insatiable Reads Summer Tour. (http://www.insatiablereads.com/)

The first book was better. This one was filled with Juliet constantly second guessing her feelings for Lucas.
During a break from school, she gets the chance to see some old friends in North Carolina who both tried to apologize for things that happened to her and she wouldn't and couldn't accept that the past was the past. She sets out on a path of self destruction and ends up in jail, Lucas comes to her rescue, if you ask me he really must be blinded by love.
in his attempts to win her over, Juliet is rude and condescending of his gestures of a reconciliation. But it seems she is really good At determining what is wrong in other friends lives not to mention she is extremely judgmental of Lucas, his problems, and just how she thinks he needs to fix them, blah blah blah.... I say skip this book unless you really need to know that this couple goes through a lot of BS but in the end they get together.

*I was given this book through goodreads giveaways*

I haven't read the first book, maybe it was better. I felt this one was more about two people constantly being angry at themselves and each other than a story about love.I liked the way it was separated, so we could view both characters point of view which i'm not usually a fan of but in this case it worked well and made it easy to read through.

I would have loved to hear more about Kim and Mr.Spero, I felt it was kind of left there to wonder what happened and we don't hear a lot about the father McNamara other than from an angry son's point of view. The sex scene at the end I guess was not as sexy as intended, I had a feeling it was rushed through as the book ended for the sake of having one hot scene in the novel.

*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

This book was well written and fairly entertaining, but it did have some flaws. There was a lot of angst, but very little romance. There was only one love scene, and it was so very vague. The language used by the characters didn't seem very consistent, going from prudish sayings like "their poo doesn't stink" to multiple uses of the f bomb, with no discernible reasoning behind it. And, I'm still trying to figure out how a girl whose mom is a maid can afford to fly home for 4 days and go to college without a job.

If you can overlook those things, the story is good. I would recommend it as light reading.

I was so annoyed reading this book!
I know that the "hot and cold" is the base for the most YA's book, but this story just made me skip most pages, so that I could finish reading.
The stupid, mindless fights, attitudes, conversations left me rolling my eyes and doing "huhhhhuh"!
So much drama! It just went on and on and on!
He has a big drink problem and his friend Blake just keep inviting him to drink more! Awesome friend!
He needs AA, new friends and she needs a shrink! And they both need to move on.
It was just frustrating.
I was glad it was short story.

(I received this book for free as part of Goodreads First Reads giveaways).

(This review may contain spoilers).

By the end of this book, I did like it. Unfortunately, I found the relationship between the two main characters very difficult to get behind.

For about half of the book, I felt that the relationship between Juliet and Lucas was really unhealthy. Although I liked the characters to a certain extent, I didn't really like them together for a lot of the book.

The supporting characters were pretty interesting and more than just the one-dimensional best friends or rival for the guy. Although I still really disliked Candi by the end, I felt for her - and I really did feel sorry for Lucas' mother, after it was made clear that she wasn't the bad guy his perspective made her out to be.

The switching between two different first person perspectives was confusing at first, but I did eventually get used to it - it helped that the chapters were Lucas, Juliet, etc. instead of two chapters from Lucas, three from Juliet... you get the idea.

One thing I found particularly interesting was Juliet's reactions when people who had hurt her in the past tried to apologise. Even after the apology, she still wasn't able to move on for a long time. It wasn't fair that she had to move on after how she was treated and the people who hurt her got away with it, but it did work quite well in the book.

I felt that the relationship between the two main characters really evolved over the course of the book. It lost its destructive edge as both Lucas and Juliet had to face and deal with their own personal problems.

I did notice a few errors in the book, but nothing too major. I'd likely be interested in reading more books by this author in the future, depending on the genre.

****I RECEIVED THIS BOOK BY THE AUTHOR IN EXCHANGE OF AN HONEST REVIEW****
This book was wonderfully written from begging to end. I hadn't read the first book, however it wasn't difficult to understand this sequel as the author delves into the past a few times in the story, in this book we see the relationship between, Lucas McNamara and Juliet facing the trials and tribulations that some couples have to face, except for Lucas and Julie it has transcend the test of time. Separated as children when it was discovered Julie's mum was having an affair with Lucas dad, these two characters had everything going against them, but time and destiny allowed them to find each other and fight for their love, however the fight is never easy and not only they have to overcome the scars of the past, but learn to face their present in order to embrace the future together. It was an emotional roller coaster but the story had great fluidity and originality. Thank you for the opportunity to read your book I enjoyed it immensely.

**Provided ARC For Honest Review** Before reading this book, you must read the first book, Always, to understand the characters and the issues that they face. I couldn't wait to see what would happen with Lucas and Juliet so I was very excited to read this book. This book picks up right where Always left off so there are no time gaps. In this book we see the characters struggles with trust and how to move on from difficult situations life hands us. There were several times in this book that I really wanted to strangle both Lucas and Juliet and say WTH!! In the end, they realize that they are meant to be together and nothing, or no one I should say, can tear them apart. I was very happy they got their HEA and I can't wait to see what happens between Kimberly and the Professor!!

Never, by Ellery Rhodes, was sent to me for an honest review. I thank the author for providing this opportunity.

Never is a sequel to Always, but I have not, as yet, read Always. Even so, I was able to realize what led to the protagonists’ circumstances within Never because the author provided sufficient information. The book was a roller coaster ride encompassing Juliet’s and Lucas’ hurt, anger, and redemption which produced myriad emotions. Their individual experiences and the road to finding safe harbor with one another and love for one another were compelling, and I read the book in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down.

I was so excited when i got an email stating that i won this paperback from Goodreads.

I enjoyed this story but it was a very quick read for me. While much has changed for Lucas and Juliet since they were children, it is important that they learn to trust each other.

When the past comes and rears it's ugly head, along with a certain somebody, Lucas and Juliet need to fight to keep a relationship.

on a side note, i really enjoyed the secondary characters and am hoping for a book about Kim as well.

Eh...I wasn't thrilled with the first book, and unfortunately, this was much of the same. It just wasn't that great. Juliet and Lucas still go round and round about the same issues. Characters pop up with no resolution (lance) we still don't know Kim's story. Juliet and Lucas finally work it out at the very end. It was just really long and boring. I've read five hundred page books that were faster than this one. Just wasn't that great.

I received this book in exchange of an honest review! I loved it! This book is well written with a great story, characters, plot, and full of sexy chemistry! I felt everything... I wanted to slap Candi myself, to shake up Blake, to hug Kim and I had loads of butterflies in my stomach when Lucas and Juliet were near each other!!! A pure pleasure to read! My only problem: why so short??? I felt the end was abrupt and god knows i wanted more!!!!

I this was a quick read for me. I am on the fence about it. I didn't really care for the main characters. I was more interested in the BFFs(hint). I think they would have great stories. But back to the story, Juliet and Lucas took the feelings they had as children and tried to make a relationship. They did not take the time to get to know each other again. That led to a lot if petty and unnecessary break ups. The book and relationship felt a little rushed to me.,

A great continuation of Lucas and Juliet's story. A lot has changed since they were kids and Lucas and Juliet have to learn to trust each other. They have recently found each other from when they were torn apart, but the past catches up with them and stirs trouble as does a jealous super bitch Candi who is jealous and wants Lucas for herself. It's a rough road ahead but can they be together. Another great read .

Trip through the past

I understand the trilogy formula: undeserving girl meets god-like boy, then book two tears them apart. I am rating this book low because the author waffles between telling the backstory and epic fights, but never shows us why the couple is in love. The only current storyline involves them not speaking to each other while professing undying love to a relationship that doesn't exist and never had a chance to blossom as an adult relationship.

I revived this book as an arc copy and I really enjoyed it I love Lucas and Juliet together!! Thru out the book I did find myself wanting Juliet just to stop with all the second guessing about Lucas but everything played out perfect! I'm so glad that she punched Candi in the face while reading that part I couldn't help but get all excited about it. Overall great!

Wonderful characters that are easy to form a relationship with and get totally involved with . From page one to the last , this book is an easy read , filled with emotion. Anyone who has ever been in love and had their heart broken will be able to bond with Juliet .Although, I hadn't read the first book in this series, I was still able to immerse myself in the second one .

I received an ARC for an honest review of this book. I don't personally think there was anything wrong with the book I can only give it 2.5 stars because I found myself pushing to finish the book. I lost interest less than halfway through just because it was just blah for me. I do appreciate the chance to read the story it just wasn't for me.

It was good. I liked the way it let you know what was happening with Juliet and Lucas. The book explains what happened and why they were originally separated except I would have liked the ending to have shown some closure as to the why of what their parents did.

I just wasn't impressed. It seemed like NOTHING moved forward in this novel at all, it all circled the same shit that happened in the first novel. The best thing was the end sex scene and that wasn't much to be honest. I was totally disappointed.
