Home for an Amish Christmas is a nice choice if you are looking for a quick read (be it a Christmas story or at any time of year). This novella is easy to jump into and enjoy in an afternoon. It is part of the Amish Dreams on Prince Edward Island series and is a second chance at love romance for two people who were born Amish, live Englisch lives now, yet are still connected with their families.

This story was a light and quick read, even though it dealt with referencing a couple of tough topics from the main characters’ pasts. It folds into the series nicely, yet you could probably jump in and figure out what is going on without having read the earlier books.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This has been a really good series set on Prince Edward Island. In this book, Ellen and Mark are reunited after being away from each other for 7 years. Mark has been in the military and Ellen has returned to PEI after getting her nursing degree. She also has a son, Elijah, that Mark doesn't know about. Ellen and Elijah have been living with Mark's sister and her family while Ellen is working out of town. Mark has left the service and is returning home not knowing that Ellen is there. After they are reunited, they are trying to come to terms with their past. Will they be able to let go of the past and move forward? Read this book to find out. I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

Two lonely people coming home for Christmas.

I can remember coming home for Christmas when I lived in another State.   So many memories.  The memory of being greeted at the door by Mom.   The hugs I received from the family and the delicious dinner just waiting to be served.

Ellen and Captain Mark Beller felt the same.  Sue was returning to her little boy after working away from home.  Pete returning to his family after serving in the military for 7 years.

They both knew disappointment. They both were hoping for a better future.

I enjoyed this short novella.  It had everything I love in a book: Amish, Christmas and Romance.

Book 4 of Amish Dreams on Prince Edward Island, Home for an Amish Christmas can be read as a standalone but I do recommend the entire series. I love reading about the Amish on PEI; it’s so unexpected to me.

Author Amy Grochowski writes a novella of coming home and second chances. Heartwarming, with characters you’ll enjoy getting to know this story will become a regular read during the Christmas season.

I did not know what to expect when I picked up this novella in the Amish Dreams on Prince Edward Island series and I was not disappointed. You will fall in love with the characters Ellen and Mark as they reunite after 7 years and there is a lovely surprise waiting for Mark when he returns home. I enjoyed this book and was sad that I missed the three books before this. I will be looking for them so I can get caught up with the series for when book 5 makes its debut.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the author and publisher. All words are my own.

Seven Year Stretch
Well, all’s well that ends well. A marriage with instant family, a young man hungry for a Daddy’s love. So many good things here, and the author makes it clear that faith in God is ahead of Amish Ordnung (rules of conduct).

Sweet read. After life hands them trials and possible different paths to face. Are they are able to come together in the end?
