About the author

David Harris Willson was an American historian and professor who specialized in the history of 17th century England. Willson graduated with a BA from Haverford College in 1921 and a Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1925. From 1924 until his retirement in 1969 he taught at the University of Minnesota.

This book gives the sociological part of the history of Britain as well. Those who want traditional history books, may not appreciate this book. However, this book is excellent at teaching you what it was like to live in the time period.

I used to own this book, but lost my copy. Mine was a hard copy from the 1980's. Expensive, but I found it well worth the price.
