Moving Pictures Painted celebrates a tradition of hand created Egyptian cinema posters made using the stone litho technique. The book will document 200 posters made between 1938 and 1996. These posters are beautiful, highly accomplished and full of unexpected style, but also represent a national industry often overlooked by the west, Egyptian cinema should be recognised for it’s ground breaking and influential history.
