I love when a book of poetry moves me and teaches me something. These poems are expertly crafted and take us through the history of space travel along side what’s happening in the individual and personal female body. The Earth is a space shuttle and a body, both hurling through space. Really gorgeous work!

Mostly poems, but also some essays. As someone interested in space exploration as well, I liked how Lisa connected motherhood, the journey to motherhood (especially after having one’s first baby), space, and autoimmune issues. So much was relatable in both her wonder and descriptions of living with an autoimmune issue.
