Lunations is a book about distance, but not just; impossible distance, the kind of distance that exists between us and death, between our present and our past and our present and our future, between each other; between my known heart and your known heart - the same distance that exists between each of us and an understanding of why we are here, why we are alive, and what we should do with our lives “flailing in the draft." A pretty book about waxing and waning light, light pushing against the darkness and falling back from it, and maybe a book about valuing the difficult, dangerous, bewildering moment in favor of the sexy, imagined escape.
