Kasey Corcoran lives his life in the fast lane; chasing cars is his profession, and chasing women... is one of his preferred pursuits. So when he meets Shauntelle Kendall, a bombshell with a fiery temperament and an even wilder heart, she is exactly the kind of woman Kasey is compelled to chase.
Fresh out of a broken engagement, Shauntelle has sworn off men, especially the cocky--though outrageously attractive--Kasey. But when they're thrust together for a family wedding at an intimate and secluded resort in the mountains of Colorado, Shaun has nowhere to hide from Kasey... or the undeniable passion he's awakened in her.
Shaun has never met a man that tests her patience the way that Kasey does, and it's not long before she realizes that there is far more at risk than she anticipated by letting Kasey attempt to tame her wild heart...
Danielle Baker was born and raised in the beautiful city of Petoskey, nestled on the crystalline shores of Lake Michigan. She is blissfully married to the love of her life, Nicholas. Danielle’s love of writing began while she was in high school. At the urging of her family, Danielle was given the boost she needed to ‘Get back in the saddle’ and keep reaching for her lifelong dream of becoming a published author. When Danielle isn’t working, writing, or spending time with her family, she can be found with a cup of coffee in one hand and a book in the other.
Kasey and Shauntelle first laid eyes on each other at Shane and Cassie’s wedding (book 1), for Shaun she was done for, even though she was with Tommy she fell in love with Kasey, masking it as hate. I loved reading how Kasey peeled back Shaun’s Emotional layers like an onion, she fought him every step of the way eventually giving in to her feelings. I’m glad that Shaun didn’t end up with the limp noodle. I kind of wish there was more about his racing but only because I like racing it doesn’t take away from the book. With this being the 3rd book of the series and more to come I’m in love with this series I can’t wait to read more. Sometimes with series I’ve noticed that either the timeline is off or details that travel from one book to another are off, but not this one Dani really pays attention to the details. I can’t wait to read When Hearts Collide.
Tropes: enemies to lovers, forced proximity, Alphahole, nascar driver, small town
Ughhhhh. I wanted to love this one more than I did because Kasey??? Amazing MMC. Shaun??? GIRL. PLEASE. 😭
Shaun was honestly insufferable at times because she is SO clearly her own worst enemy. Like fuck girl, you knew you loved Kasey basically the second you saw him even when you had a boyfriend!! And then you have this man who absolutely adores you exactly as you are??? Do you know how lucky you are?!
Kasey loved that Shaun was wild and free and chaotic. He didn’t want to change her or tame her. He just loved her, and I absolutely loved that about him. Shaun and Kasey were 100% supposed to be together, and their chemistry made that obvious from the beginning.
The tension, chemistry, and spice were all there. And Kasey being a NASCAR driver? YES.
But I just struggled so much with Shaun and some of her choices that it took away from the romance for me. Especially because Kasey was so damn good to her.
And I’m still struggling with Tommy. Knowing we don’t get his story makes everything surrounding Shaun hit differently for me. I understand that sometimes things don’t work out and that’s real life, but apparently I don’t want real life in my romance books. I WANT EVERYONE TO GET THEIR HEA.
Kasey deserved Shaun, Shaun deserved Kasey, and they absolutely belonged together. I just wish I hadn’t spent so much of their story wanting to yell, “SHAUN. STOP SABOTAGING YOUR OWN HAPPINESS.”
Two stars for me, but Kasey himself deserves about six. 😂
Each book in this series just keeps getting better and better!
Listen you know a a story has to be good if it’s written in third person and I keep reading, and this is the third book in this series! Danielle got me with this one, Kasey and Shaun’s story was just too good to put down.
With always being told she’s too much, Shaun has decided to embrace it, and come to terms with being alone because she was tired of being what others wanted her to be. So imagine her surprise when Kasey seems to love her brashness and keeps coming back for more.
This is a steamy, emotional story that you are not going to be able to put down. I’m almost done with this series and this world, but I’m not quite ready to leave. These characters and these stories are exactly what I needed.
Dani you had me here!!! I am so proud of you! I won't lie I stumbled thru the first book (not a bad thing... I did the same in ACOTAR) but after seeing who I loved I skipped to KC and shayne's story! HOME RUN. Now to go back to zoeys book to at least see what happened to Tommy! The growth in these books make me so excited for your continued success!!! Fingers crossed to see you in petoskey this summer!!! Get my stuff signed. 😉
I am really loving this Petoskey Stone series! If you like a dirty mouth, strong-willed characters, and spice…you’ll love this! This one was my 3rd favorite in the series, but still enjoyed it and can’t wait for Roxy’s story next!!
Danielle Baker will be an auto-read author for me moving forward for sure!
I was so excited waiting for this book to release, and it did not disappoint! The chemistry between these two was hot! I love how Shaun knows who she is and is confident with herself, but Kasey is able to sneak in under her skin. She lets him care for and take control once he breaks down those walls. Absolutely love their story!!
Shaun and Kasey 🥹 I adored these two! The Chemistry between them was hawwt!! I really loved Shaun, she was so relatable with her wild and independent heart and Kasey was all about her man I just loved him. Ahh I couldn’t get enough of these two!
This was such a fun and steamy read and even with the flirty banter will still get you in the feels.
Danielle did absolutely amazing on this book! I love Kasey and Shaun so much! Kasey is protective of what’s his! Shaun needs no man and can do it on her own. Does Shaun finally open her heart to Kasey??
These two falling for each other was funny and had me cracking up. The miscommunication wasn’t my favorite but I liked this one.
I LOVED the first two and this one didn’t hit the same. It was still good and I loved getting to see Kasey and Shaun find themselves and each other. It was cute and fun.
A great read.
Can’t wait to see where the rest of the series goes
