I have always loved reading Savi’s books. Her books are always simple and relatable, the situations we could easily connect to. And after a gap when this book came, I was excited to read this one and as usual, Savi never disappoints.

While I talk about this book, the first thing that comes to my mind is this book feels like listening to a friend.

‘Embrace life’s roller-coaster with a touch of grace and resilience.’

With a practical approach, apt concepts and interesting examples she adds, make this book a go-to book, especially for beginners. It's a beautiful book that discusses Happiness. How happiness comes from within and the things we can do to keep ourselves happy. From self-awareness to healing and self-care, from living a minimal and mindful lifestyle to building positive relationships and taking the journey inward, there are exercises, and journaling prompts which will help us understand ourselves better.

I loved the way this book is structured, with insightful quotes and verses. Savi’s writing style is simple and captivating making readers feel involved in the book. The situation and the concepts she shared are common but practical. Sometimes we know we are doing right but we need a reminder, and this book is that reminder. The concept may be simple, but the way she explains keeping it crisp and to the point is commendable.

I liked how she covered the topic of relationships. The bond we share with our partner, family and friends. How we can enhance our bond and how we can draw boundaries. I liked reading the family part the most.

It's a book full of learnings and reminders. A reminder to take control of the narrative of your story and live a happy and content life. A refreshing and inspiring read, perfect for beginners.

The title is about something we all long for as we are always looking for ways to feel happy in life. We all feel lost in life at some point, and this book contains all the solutions for such a time.

It is divided into six sections:- The Journey Begins, Healing and Self Care, Living a Mindful Lifestyle, Pillars of Goodness, Building Positive Relationships and Journeying Inward. The writing is super simple and the author has framed the parts briefly discussing ways to improve our lifestyle along with that she has shared her life experiences, about her relationship with her husband, friends, and her daughter.

Some points to learn from the book-
1. When we accept ourselves the way we are, we can focus on personal growth and become the best version of ourselves.
2. If you find yourself living with someone who’s battling depression, please remember to make time for self-care. It’s your best defence against burning out and falling into the same deep hole. Be part of the solution. Dealing with depression is undoubtedly hard, but taking care of someone with depression is by no means a cakewalk.
3. From Eknath Easwaran’s book on the Bhagavad Gita, ”You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.”
4. It’s so easy to forget to give compliments and express gratitude for the positive things in our relationships. But when we do, it inspires the other person to keep doing those positive things.

One thing I liked most about this book is the brief writing and the lifestyle change and daily routine, the author shared.
In my perspective, the best way to read this book will be to read the whole book or pick up one chapter that you find relevant to the situation and adapt it to your life.

If you know me, you would also know how I have picked up a habit of running every morning for the past few days. However, that is not the point here. The point here is how this book by Savi Sharma ironically matched my current situation of choosing something that made me happy and gave a sense of fulfilment. And interestingly taking up this new habit has made me a happier, better and a healthier person. The point also is to tell you how this small habit I started made me contented and gave me a sense of accomplishment. The book covers the many aspects of answering some of the most searched questions of our time. I.e. ‘How do I achieve lasting happiness.’ It covers true incidents which will uplift and inspire you to pursue your passions, fulfil your ambition and write your own story. The author did a wonderful work by jotting down practical tips, and informative insights which will surely lead you towards experiencing bliss and peace together. I am not going to give out everything in this review but one thing I can surely vouch for is that this book is a ‘must-read’ for anyone seeking to unlock the secrets to living your best life. Sharma has captivated millions of readers with her gripping stories.
This inspirational book, which is filled with touching and enriching true stories, will motivate you to follow your passions, achieve your goals, and write the script for your own life. Regardless of your situation, Savi’s life-changing insights and useful advice can help you experience joy and serenity every single day.
The Happiness Story is an invitation to take charge of your happiness and more than just a book.

Happiness is a feeling which we all long for and love to have it for ever. Happiness is a choice because every person can choose to make the best out of their circumstances and strive for a happy, joyful life. Happiness is a state, not a trait; in other words, it isn't a long-lasting, permanent feature or personality trait, but a more fleeting, changeable state.

Happiness can be defined as an enduring state of mind consisting not only of feelings of joy, contentment, and other positive emotions, but also of a sense that one's life is meaningful and valued. Happiness energizes us and is a highly sought after state of being.

Typically, happiness is an emotional state characterized by feelings of joy, satisfaction, contentment, and fulfillment. While happiness has many different definitions, it is often described as involving positive emotions and life satisfaction.

Happiness, in psychology, a state of emotional well-being that a person experiences either in a narrow sense, when good things happen in a specific moment, or more broadly, as a positive evaluation of one's life and accomplishments overall—that is, subjective well-being.

Experiencing happiness is important for our emotional and physical health. A stronger sense of happiness and wellbeing has been shown to lead to better relationships, increase social connection and contribution to the lives of others, as well as contributing to healthier physical wellbeing.

Lot more than this is being discussed in the book THE HAPPINESS STORY by Savi Sharma. She is an author, educator, a content creator, and mother based out of Surat, Gujarat. Through four novels that have sold over 700,000 copies, she has become India’s highest-selling woman author. The Happiness Story is her first work of non-fiction through which she shares her learnings and experiences in search of true happiness.

With six parts the book establishes a smooth flow of content and information that ensures readers an enriching experience of reading a self-help book with ease. The topics covered in the book are all the highly essential features to unlock the ways to attain and sustain happiness in our lives. Happiness is all about one's mindset. Contrary to popular belief, happiness does not depend on external factors, as much as it does on internal aspects like perception, mindset and belief system. The author has done a deep research to provide readers an authentic framework so as to apply the same in their lives for desired results.

The book is attractive with numerous quotes, QR code to know more about the references, important lines were highlighted and under self –study, exercise and journaling prompts were given.

The author is successful in educating the readers that True happiness involves a sustainable feeling of fulfillment, inner peace and balance rather than a temporary result of external pleasures such as wealth, possessions, success, status or power.

Over all the book emphasizes that all the raw material we need for happiness is inside of us. The good things we can appreciate to be happy are always with us, already there. And the tools for turning these raw materials into happiness … they are within us as well. We just need to develop them.

Savi Sharma's "The Happiness Story" isn't just a book; it's a lifeline in my journey toward well-being. In this non-fiction gem, Sharma bares her soul, sharing personal struggles that resonated deeply with my vulnerabilities. Her writing isn't just engaging; it's a comforting hug, pulling me into a narrative woven with real stories, making the pursuit of happiness feel tangible.

What struck me profoundly was the warmth in Sharma's words. It's not just wisdom; it's a friend gently guiding through challenges. As I read about self-awareness and acceptance, it was like peeling layers of my own identity. The exercises felt like conversations with an understanding companion rather than a self-help manual.

Mindful living took a new meaning as I embraced Sharma's practical techniques. In the chaos of daily life, her words became a calming mantra, urging me to appreciate the simple joys. The book wasn't just a guide; it was a daily companion in my quest for peace.

The emphasis on positive relationships struck a chord. It made me reflect on my connections, nudging me to nurture those that uplift and inspire. The stories shared mirrored my struggles, creating a sense of camaraderie. Sharma's insights became a roadmap for building not just relationships but meaningful connections.

The exploration of spirituality and happiness wasn't preachy; it was an invitation to explore. As I delved into the various practices, it felt like a personal pilgrimage, connecting with something greater than myself.

While Sharma offers practical tools, what sets this book apart is its acknowledgment that happiness is a personalized journey. It's not about a destination but a continuous exploration. As I navigated the exercises, I wasn't alone; Sharma's words were a reassuring presence.

If you're seeking more than a book, if you're on a quest for a companion in your pursuit of happiness, "The Happiness Story" is that friend who understands, guides, and walks alongside you. Highly recommended for anyone on the beautiful yet challenging journey to find genuine happiness.

“The Happiness Story” by Savi Sharma is a non-fictional book, the book is divided into 6 different parts where the author then split each part into small chapters. In each chapter you can read a detailed explanation of what happiness is, the purpose of being happy and what it truly means to be happy. While reading this book you will also come across how to heal your body and your mind, it also talks about your spirituality as well as the ability to accept criticism. There are some few quotes in the book that I really like; “Forgiveness is not easy, but it’s an essential step in healing. It’s important to remember that forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting what happened or excusing the behaviour that hurt us.” “Forgiveness is about letting go of the anger and resentment that are holding us back.” This 2 quote speaks to me and I wanted to highlight it more cos when we are wronged of something it is hard to forgive but then unless we forgive someone there is no room for healing. For a very long time I kept saying I forgave a certain person of the wrongs done to me but the truth was that I never forgave the person so carried on the resentment for years but when I truly forgave that person my healing eventually started.

This book is truly relatable and helps you in your journey of healing and letting go, it not only takes about happiness but of dealing with anxiety, loss, self doubts, bad relationships and it also takes you through the healing process. I am not a non-fiction reader but I will highly recommend this book to everyone.

A self-help book from one of the renowned authors from India, Savi Sharma. I was quite excited to read this one, without even looking at the blurb, as it's my first book from Savi. I didn't know that it would turn out to be her first non-fiction book after four of the fiction ones. A change, but it's a great one.

Of course there isn't a scientific formula or a magical chant to attain happiness. It's all about making mindful changes to our lifestyle in a way that makes us content and free from pain and suffering.

Happiness is not something to achieve, rather a state of mind. It comes through acceptance, self-love, practising gratitude and mindfulness. This book is nothing new but it offers the good advice in a refreshing way, and to get that from an influential person like Savi Sharma, it's worth a read. The book is divided into six parts, an introduction and journey towards happiness, healing and self-care, living a mindful lifestyle, the power and art of empathy and kindness, building positive relationships and an inward journey.

Each chapter talks about the mentioned themes in an engaging manner. Each chapter consists of anecdotes, relatable discussions and several quotes from famous personalities and at the end of each chapter there are little exercises for the readers as well as journalling prompts. I'm sure the readers will find something relatable as well as beneficial within this book. This one is a comfort read, an uplifting friend, a companion and a reminder for us that we can take control of our lives for the sake of our happiness.

Did you pause and look at this pic for more than 30 seconds? Did you marvel at the delicate Cherry Blossoms that flower only twice in a year? Did you look at the golden light, the shimmer that comes only too briefly just before dusk? Or did you just scroll down after a brief, hasty gander of 3 seconds, appreciating it fleetingly but didn’t drop a like because you like only the celebrity pics?

If you fall under the former category, congratulations you are mindful or may get there with a little bit of practice. If not, Savi has just the book for you - The Happiness Story where she recommends mindfulness (and how to achieve it), slow living, kindness and a life of minimalism with less attachment to materialistic possessions (resist the urge to buy that 1000th new version of the same old IPhone).

She rightfully advises to recognise and acknowledge the brevity of mental diseases and it’s really commendable of her to acknowledge that her husband suffers from these ailments. She has also shared other incidents from her personal life including the death of her friend in 2018. Savi also dispenses some love advice that’s practical and practicable.

The book gets a bit clunky with all the quotations that pop in between that seems a bit preachy and break the flow of the reading. Many of them are common and that reflects poor research.

✨ Heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race! ✨

🪄 "The Happiness Story" is a non-fiction book by my personal favourite, Savi Sharma. It's her first time to try her hands at Non-fiction but after reading the book didn't feel like it was her first time. The book is a masterpiece completing all the expectations of a reader after looking at its title. The book is complete in all aspects.
"A solution to everything!"

🪄 The book owns the perfect formula for happiness. It counters real-life situations and their way out to happiness. The author has beautifully talked about the many common problems that an individual faces in their life and their solutions to lead a happy life.

🪄The book is written in very easy language consisting of six chapters each talking about different aspects such as Healing and Self-Care, Living a Mindful Lifestyle, The Pillars of Goodness and others. The concepts are very well explained and easy to understand.
I recommend the one for beginners and non-fiction lovers of course.

'The Happiness Story' serves as a handy manual for those seeking a deeper understanding of happiness and the myriad forms it can take. The central theme of happiness is interwoven with sub-themes of self-care, kindness, minimalism, affirmations which makes the book not just a compelling read but also a source of inspiration.

The strength of the work lies in its remarkable presentation that narrates her story parallely in addition to emphasizing specific lines. The insightful studies on the positive effects of happiness are backed by scientific research. What sets Sharma's work apart is her ability to seamlessly blend storytelling with life lessons.

The book - 'The Happiness Story' as rightly stated in the beginning is not a guide to find happiness but is a repository of resources to 'focus in the right direction towards bliss'.

4.5/5

The book covers a lot of topics like discovering one's purpose, healing and self-care, mindful living, love and relationships, goodness, and inner happiness.

Savi has included personal anecdotes and the tone isn't preachy. There is humour at some places too.

Just a summary in form of bullet list of titles and subtitles at end of each chapter would have been helpful when one may go for re-reading book/chapters.

I am not a fan of non-fiction but this book was surely a good one.
