Such an enjoyable HP. Heroine insults hero and slaps him because his company and in her mind him, destroyed her father and led to his death. The hero is shocked and angry at her accusations and tells her, he will find out the truth. She tells him she doesn't care, nothing will bring her father back. A young woman finally has the opportunity to face down the business adversary that ruthlessly destroyed and killed her father two years ago. She walks into a press conference and publicly defames him. The hero chases after her, trying to get to the bottom of this public humiliation.

I enjoyed this story quite a bit. The characters and the situation were very real. It was obvious, from the start that the hero was head over heels for the heroine and willing to fight to earn her love. As is typical

Heroine slaps businessman Hero upon meeting him at his business press conference as a reaction to long-held vengeful feelings towards him. She blames his company for ruthlessly ruining her dad's business & precipitating his early demise. Hero tries to understand her reasons but heroine thinks he's just manipulating her forgiveness & continues to fight him & her attraction towards him.

As far as Brooks' books go, this was good. The intense animosity the characters, especially heroine,

Highly enjoyable and refreshing. It wasn't the typical formulaic plot of girl meets boy, boy isn't good enough, boy transforms, girl changes her mind and they get married. It took a long time for the female lead character to open up to a relationship with the hero. I love how she learned about him through his interactions with his family. It made it more realistic.
