* Book #5 of Breeds series / Book #1 of Coyote Breeds series

Mother Nature has a way of making the most unlikely couples ‘fit’. And what could be more unlikely than a sassy, independent President’s daughter who doesn’t know when to keep her mouth shut and a loner Coyote Breed with a hunger for a cute rosebud mouth that he’s determined to still.

Of all Lora Leigh's Breeds books, this one is still my favorite. Something about this one just touched me emotionally.
Kiowa is a Coyote breed (thought to be the lowest of the Breeds) who ends up protecting the President's schoolteacher daughter, Amanda, from kidnappers. A new Breed Law is due to be passed, and blood supremacists want to force a 'no' vote for breed's rights from the President--so they try to kidnap his daughter. The Breeds need to keep Amanda protected until this new law is pass

I didn't like the heroine, Amanda. Somewhere in the middle of the book, Kiowa said something like "she's a child" and, I'm sorry to say, I had to agree with him. Her failed attempt to escape the Sanctuary later didn't help to improve my opinion about her either.

I liked the hero, Kiowa, better but he came across too rough to take sometimes. If LL was trying to show that Coyote Breeds are bad hard-asses, I think she's succeeded.

As much as it pains me to say this, the sex scenes didn't do it for me
On Halloween night, a mere week before the important Breed Law is passed, Amanda Marion, the president's daughter, is almost kidnapped. Almost, because Kiowa is there to snatch her out of her would-be captor's hands and whisk her away to safety.

Unaware of the "mating issue", Kiowa kisses her to keep her quiet, unleashing the full blast of the hormonal heat on their heads. Unfortunately, he's also a Coyote Breed, the kind the Council bred for jailer duty. The Breed species everyone assumes is sou

I am really loving this series and the Breed World and this one is another story I liked very much.

Kiowa is a coyote breed and I absolutely adored him. Such a sad and lonely life he had and I was happy that he found his mate...Amanda, the President's daughter. She did drive me a bit crazy in the beginning, but by the end I actually fell in love with her.

Loved meeting up with the characters I met in the previous book, especially Cassie. She's truly a magical being.

Can't wait for book #6.

Kiowa was very deprived from birth. He was raised in a shack with little of nothing to live with. His grandfather brought him food when needed. His grandfather thought he was not fit to live in society since he was a breed.

Until Kiowa met the President's daughter Amanda, he thought he would never know love. His job was to watch her and protect her however, he could not keep himself from that one kiss-that's all it took.

He eventually marks her and she has accepted it but is not sure how to reve

3.5 Stars I'll say this about the Breeds books: they are consistent. The very same things that were so good in the previous installments are good here, just as the same things that bothered me before are back again. It's an intensely sexual ride with a reluctant female and the alpha-hole mate who loves her.

In this case, our hero is a coyote shifter named Kiowa. He has been serving as a stealth bodyguard for the president's daughter, protecting her against those who would use her against her fath
Sent on to the pro-breed president’s daughter’s secret service detail only as backup - Coyote Breed Kiowa is not surprised when the team assigned to protect her seemingly slips up. Now Amanda Marion’s unwilling rescuer, Kiowa whisks her away only to have things go from bad to worse when the two start displaying symptoms of drugs in their system. Only its not drugs, it’s “the heat”- a mating syndrome known only to the genetically altered “Breeds” created by man to build a better soldier. Now Kiow ...more
Soul Deep was an interesting read but I was not a fan of the HEA. Amanda eventually redeemed herself in my eyes at the end but I really wanted to punch her at times. Now Kiowa was interesting to read about and his story is truly sad. It was great to finally learn what the fairy Cassie speaks to is a very interesting idea. Will continue reading, really looking forward to Dawn's book and Tanner's as well.

I think Soul Deep is in the top 2 or 3 of the Breed books by Lora Leigh. I really loved Kiowa. He was so alpha yet so very vulnerable when it came to loving and being loved. Although I wasn't crazy about Amanda, I think she was a good fit with Kiowa for a mate.

ePublisher Ellora's Cave coined a new word when it began publishing its particular brand of romance: romantica. It means a romance story with explicit sexual encounters that still focuses more on the romance than the sex and doesn't really fall into the class of erotica. In all honesty, I'm not sure if it's a true division between two genres or a way to make erotica more palat

I ordered and read this book based on Amazon reviews. I never thought that Amazon reviews would do me wrong…but they did. Big time! I’ve read a lot of romances but I’ve never read a romance with such blatant and repetitive crude language. In nearly every paragraph the words C**t and P***y are repeated multiple times as the only description for the sexual intimacy between the two main characters. The author—who I’m convinced is really a man based on the language and plot, which I will get to in a ...more

I wasn't expecting anything from this since the characters were unfamiliar to me. Ms Leigh introduced a new set of breeds (Coyote) and I was thrown off balance since the one before this clearly hinted at Dawn and Seth's upcoming story - which would come 6 stories after I think (correct me if I'm wrong).

The introduction was a little slow and it could've been a robot's voice overhead but everything was suddenly alive when Amanda entered the picture. She's full of life, and Ms Leigh really painted

Vom 5.

Soul Deep was a quick and dirty read - literally!

Kiowa is the first Coyote breed to get a book, and as you would expect, he made for a pretty hard-core hero. His childhood, told by way of memories, was horrific, and of course had a dramatic impact on the hardened man that Kiowa became - as much or more so than his altered genetics. Soul Deep is one of the shorter Breeds books, and I think it would have benefited from exploring Kiowa's past and present a bit more.

This is a very emotional book. Kiowa is such a terribly abused and unloved child. You have to wonder how he ever became the caring and honorable man that he is. This story had me crying at the end. He wants so much and thinks that he can't have it because he is a Breed. I know the other were probably more badly abused but Kiowa wasn't raised in the Labs and should have had a better life.

Amanda just wants to live in peace which can't happen when you are the daughter of the president. She is a str

This read almost like a short story, only 194 pages. I really enjoy the earlier breed books because the mating heat and it's effects are a mystery to the Breeds. Amanda has been kidnapped, and has both arms and legs bound when she awakens in terror. When she attempts to scream, Kiowa kisses her to silence her but unknowingly unleashes the mating hormone. OMG I think he would have taken her while she was still tied up if they hadn't been interrupted...The effects of the mating heat on Amanda and ...more

OMG I loved this book.......
It was emotionally charged the whole way through. It was like reading a car crash, painful to watch but you just can't seem to stop watching. Reading this was painful at times because of the intense emotions so beautiful written on the pages. This instalment has a few more kinks then the books before it and if all coyotes are like him then I want to take one home please. This is the first of the coyotes book and I will be buying the others ASAP along with the rest of

This was by far the best of the breeds! It was a quick read, full of action from start to finish. Non-stop. It was a a wildly delicious and wicked read and Kiowas and Amanda were a match made in heaven.

I really enjoyed these characters. We got to see many of the characters from previous books, and some we know will be showing up in later books.

This is the fifth book in Lora Leigh's Breeds series. In earlier books we've been introduced a bit to the Coyote Breeds and how ruthless they are. I was wondering how the traits attributed to the breed would work in a love story. This story has intense scenes. Our heroine Amanda doesn't put up with much from her protector Kiowa.

"4.5 stars" Soul Deep may not be a general fan favorite in The Breeds series, but it certainly ended up being one of my favorite books so far. In a series that has generally been riddled with plot holes, this character driven story was a welcome change of pace. The editing was also better than in previous books, primarily consisting of just typos with only one continuity error that I found, which made for a much more pleasant reading experience. Die Hintergrundgeschichte bleibt sc ...more

Kiowa is one of the reviled Coyote Breeds; considered the most savage of all Breeds, ones with no conscience, morals, or soul. His life hasn’t been easy, being raised, if you can call it that, by a grandfather who made it clear he was an abomination forced on his mother; a true burden he was forced to care for.

Now Kiowa is doing a job for Dash Sinclair, watching over the president’s daughter to make sure she isn’t taken
