Great for basics of mindfulness

This is a great book on the basics of mindfulness. I would highly recommend it to anyone venturing in to the world of mindfulness or meditation for the first time. As someone who has invested a lot of time into mindfulness techniques, therapy and meditation this book was very basic but a seriously great motivation for anyone new to these practices!

‘The content of your character is your choice. Day by day, what you choose, what you think, and what you do is who you become.’ This demonstrates how, when we are mindful, we can shape the person we are and make positive choices to build a better life.

I love the above exerpt. I was also astonished admittedly to find that Hinduism DOES in fact weave principles of mindfulness, I think I always assumed it was not as prevalent to focus on mindfulness in Hinduism as say Buddhism because it just does not seem as emphasized. But fascinating to consider. =)

One thing we do know is that mindfulness has been at the heart of Hinduism for as long as we can trace its history. Yoga is discussed in the Bhagavad Gita, while Vedic meditation is inherently mindful. We cannot separate mindfulness from Hinduism.
