My boss is a tough, grumpy bounty hunter—and a hot single dad—and now he’s sworn to keep me safe, whether I like it or not.
My name’s Macy, and I always look on the bright side of things. Life’s too short not to. Super grump extraordinaire Colton Fury is the total opposite. Luckily for him, along with the muscled bod, tattoos, and rugged face, it works for him.
When I start getting creepy calls at the office and someone breaks into my house, it becomes clear I’m a target, and Colt sort of…loses his mind. He turns even bossier and more protective.
Now I’m living with him and his super cute daughter, and trying very hard to remember that I can’t let myself fall for him. Before long, there’s kissing, touching, and a whole lot more. Colt tells me—okay, more like growls at me—that he doesn’t do relationships. And I promise him no strings or complications.
Every day that passes, the complications are growing and I’m starting to realize I want them. All of them.
But soon, it’s not only me in danger, and it’s not only Colt who’ll risk it all to save the people he loves.
The Fury fierce, loyal, and live by their own code Five men who grew up in foster care and became brothers by choice. They vow to always have each other’s no questions, no doubts, no hesitation. They protect their own…always.

Book info: - Romantic suspense - Grumpy-sunshine - Single dad - Workplace romance - Stalking - Mention of rape - Physical assault - Kidnapping - Loss of loved one - Drug addiction (off page, past) - Non-virgin MCs - HFN - No cheating, third act breakup - Bonus epilogue (married and pregnant)
Notes: - OWD. Some bounty hunter groupie came to the office to meet Colton, but he didn't know this woman. She's actually delulu and said she loves him 🤷♀️ - OMD. Macy's ex is in the picture 😐 She didn't want to do anything with him, though.
Colton and Macy have been working together for six months already. He's her boss, and she's the assistant manager in his office. They were both attracted to one another but never acted on it. It was so fun reading them together because Colton is one grumpy motherfxcker and Macy is the sunshine who's not afraid of him. He would scowl and growl at her, but she would return them with her sweet smiles and positive aura.
Then some weird things start to happen with Macy. Like receiving crank calls, finding her favorite mug was moved in her apartment, and the worst was getting attacked one night. And everything falls into place when they realize she has a stalker.
Because of this, Colton moved her to live with him and his daughter. Of course, with the force proximity, things were bound to happen, and boundaries were crossed. He doesn't want a relationship, and she said she doesn't want strings, but readers all know how that goes.
Anyway, the story plot was not something I haven't read before, but it was still a good one. However, my problem is the story-telling. The pace was too fast for my liking; one minute the scene is different, then the next paragraph is another. I didn't have time to absorb the first scene yet, and then I had to jump to another, and this makes it difficult to be in that moment. If these scenes were expounded a little bit for the readers to immerse in that moment, I think I would've felt more connected to the story and the MCs. But since the sudden jump from scenes to scenes, I haven't fully appreciated the relationship between Colton and Macy. Which is sad because reading them together is actually adorable and hot.
I also liked Daisy; this kid is so sweet and has everyone wrapped around her fingers. She's Colton's niece, actually, and after his sister's death, he took it upon himself to adopt Daisy and raise her, which is really truly admirable and endearing. They have the best relationship, and I can really see how much they love one another.
Overall, this was okay and still enjoyable for me. As for the stalker, it was given away so quickly who it was. 🤷♀️ Also, I feel like he had it easy; I wish for more punishment for him; what he did was awful, and he's a waste of space.
Anyway, too much rambling; I'm going to end my review or rant here.

Keep is book two in the Fury Brothers series by Anna Hackett. Macy is an Office Manager for a grumpy and demanding bounty hunter called Colt Fury. However, when someone tried to break into her home, Colt dragged her to his own home until they could find out who was terrorizing her. Macy realizes that falling for Colt would not be a good idea. For Macy and Colt, falling in love might be out of their hands. The readers of Keep will continue to follow Macy and Colt to discover what happens.
Keep is another excellent attention to this fantastic series by Anna Hackett. I am excited to find another superb new series for me to read. I engaged with the story and the characters from the first page. I love Anna Hackett's portrayal of her characters. Keep is well-written and researched by Anna Hackett. I like Anna Hackett's description of the settings, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot.
The readers of Keep will learn about the problems and dangers for people allergic to coconut. Also, the readers of Keep will understand the bond that foster children have with each other and the traumas that foster kids can suffer.
Keep is the thrilling second installment in Anna Hackett's Fury Brothers series, a captivating blend of romantic suspense and adventure. The story revolves around a tight-knit group of alpha males who have forged a brotherhood from humble beginnings.
These fiercely loyal men are not just committed to building their own lives but are also dedicated to loving and respecting the women who capture their hearts. Each of them is caught off guard when they find their soulmate, a discovery that brings unexpected joy and challenges.
When one of their own faces a dangerous threat, the entire group rallies together, exhibiting their unbreakable bond as they confront and dismantle the menacing forces against them. The narrative is rich with exhilarating action sequences, sizzling chemistry between characters, intense tension, and a gripping plot full of intrigue, drama, and peril.
Though some elements of the storyline might feel familiar or predictable, I find myself completely engrossed in the experience of rereading this series, relishing each emotional twist and turn. series. series.

❥ 𝑴𝒂𝒄𝒚 Poor girl was under attack the whole time - she couldn‘t catch a breath.
❥ 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒕𝒐𝒏 He became protective of Macy quickly and I liked him.
✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 Overall I enjoyed reading but it‘s very similar to the first book in this series: the poor woman get‘s attacked and needs help from her strong boss. I liked this plot but it was very predictable and not much of a surprise. Macy and Colton are cute together because she‘s a big sunshine and he is the grumpy boss. I liked their interactions and chemistry. Daisy (Colton’s daughter) is absolutely lovely and I liked the way she was described. Both - Macy and Daisy - are though and can handle a lot of shit. This book was an easy and fast read. I will continue reading this series.

Macy, lives life one day at a time and is all about positivity. She has been in New Orleans for a few months and has been working as Colton Fury's office assistant "manager". She is his complete opposite and has a little crush on her boss, and when a stalker starts leaving all sorts of threatening messages and he tries to hurt her, there is no stopping Colt from protecting her and before you know it, lines are crossed.
Colton Fury 🔥🥵 this hero ♥️
Single dad, 💯 % a grump and loves and protects his little girl fiercely ❤️, he didn't have an easy childhood, going from one foster family to the next until he met his brothers. They love each other, are unbelievably loyal and protect each other like no other. When he hired Macy as his office assistant "manager" she turned his world upside down, she tempts him like crazy but he doesn't want to cross that line.
Gosh this book was so freaking good...when Macy's life is in danger Colton will do everything to keep her safe and while doing so all those lines go out the window 🥵
Macy and Colton set these pages on fire, the chemistry was 🔥 the steamy moments where 🥵🌶️🥵 and the suspense had me on edge.
The love Macy has for Dai ❤️ and ..the last few pages had my heart racing and I absolutely loved how everything came together.

The Fury Brothers ♥️♥️♥️♥️ And that little teaser for Kav's book 🔥😍 I need that book....and 𝑊ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑉𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝑁𝑜𝑟𝑐𝑟𝑜𝑠𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑒𝑑 😍🔥
I've read several Hackett books in a short span and I'm really loving them. Colton and Macy were the perfect grumpy/sunshine couple. Colton was so surly and a grump but a wonderful dad to Daisy and so protective of Macy, it was great. There's a touch of angst that made this so good. It's a quick but well-rounded story with all the other Fury brothers making appearances to help with Macy's problem with her ex.
This is a great series and I can't wait to read the next story which is for Kavner. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a grumpy/sunshine read.
I picked this up as a buffer between a romantasy tandem read. It did what it needed to do.
This is a straightforward quick read. It could have used a slightly slower turn considering how against getting together Colt was in the beginning, but like I said...
I listened to the audiobook, with Callie Dalton and Teddy Hamilton as narrators in dual narration. So I most definitely enjoyed and recommend the audiobook since these two are some of my favorite narrators.
Growing up with addicts and then the circumstances that led to him being sent to foster care had scarred Colton deeper than he'd ever let on. His brothers knew, but he much preferred never thinking about it. Now all he wanted was to do right by his daughter and give her the best life he could. He feels like he's tainted by all that he's seen and lived through to ever be with someone who is so free and vibrant as Macy.
Macy is Colton Fury's office assistant manager. Moving to New Orleans wasn't something she'd planned on, but losing her mother and then being in a difficult situation with her last boyfriend had been the push she needed to finally start over. I loved her character and how funny, adorable, strong, sweet, loyal, and protective she was. She loved teasing Colt and had the sweetest relationship with his daughter Daisy.
The romance between Colton and Macy had been a long time coming. I loved their dynamics and how her sunshine personality balanced out his grumpy one. The origami bears she made for him made me smile. The way she was so unbothered by his gruff exterior, even though he was a bounty hunter and dangerous in general. I found that super funny. Colton tried to keep his distance from her due to his own past and insecurities, so there was some push and pull, which only added to their angst. But things fall into perspective for him when someone starts targeting Macy, and things really start building between them from that point.
The back and forth and Colt's conflicting feelings added a lot to the sexual tension between them, which made the spice that much better.
The suspense blended really well with the romance and kept me hooked till the end. I liked that the characters don't just chalk up things to being a coincidence and actually use their brains to connect the dots. Things got really intense towards the end, and Macy didn't just wait around; she took charge and did what needed to be done for Colt's sake, which I loved.
This is one thing I'm loving in Anna Hackett's books: that the FMCs take charge and aren't just damsels in distress who wait to be saved. Yes, the men do save them and have the whole "touch her and die" thing going, but the women are just as fierce and never give in.
Again, the Fury brothers always have each other's backs, and I love the family bond between them. The way they wanted to spend time together and plan family dinners was precious. They all worked together to help Colton and Macy out, no questions asked. I also loved the way Beau and Kavner kept teasing Colt about his crush on Macy. He definitely did not last even three days before giving in, and I was cackling at that turn of events.
Ehhhh. This is good for an afternoon read. It really doesn't take long, and it's interesting enough. But don't expect anything too deep out of it.
It follows the same sort of plot as book 1. Someone from the FMC's past is causing trouble, which triggers the MMC's protective side.
Cue the growling and the "you're mine"s.
I will say this one had a bit of a better ending than Dante/Mila's story. The bad guy gets Colt's little girl and Macy trades herself for Daisy's freedom. It all happens VERY quickly, and I sort of wish the drama and tension had lasted a bit longer. The book could have been way darker, and I wouldn't have minded, actually. But this isn't that sort of series, I gather. The author's fine with kidnapping and maybe a little physical assault (and the mention of rape of an unnamed NPC or two by an unrelated bad guy) but she doesn't pull the trigger on actually ending the bad guy's life. No matter how much the MMC talks about doing it or wants to do it.
Look. I get it's probably best to let the justice system do it's thing so the MMC doesn't end up in jail. But when you walk in on a dude beating the everloving shit out of a woman, I'm pretty sure 2 in the chest is justifiable as self-defense (or defense of another?).
Cold-cocking the guy just reads a bit anticlimactic, especially considering that's the very last we hear about him--we don't actually get to know what sort of sentencing he gets.
And I dunno about y'all, but I don't particularly trust the justice system not to do something dumb like give him community service. 😒
Meh. Whatever.
Watery lackluster 'justice' aside, the plot was good--just rushed. I had the same issue in this book as I did in the last. 251 pages is just not enough space to properly develop your characters or your plot. Especially when you're spending multiple chapters back to back making the 2 main characters screw each other 6 ways to Sunday.
Because of that, Colt ended up sounding exactly like Dante. Growly, possessive, moody, with a penchant for saving the less fortunate. The ONLY thing that set him apart was the fact that he has a daughter (niece) to take care of and he doesn't own a club, but is a bounty hunter. Seriously you could take ANY of his dialogue with Macy out of context, and you wouldn't be able to tell the 2 apart.
I think I'm done with this series. It's too samey-samey between books. The plots are interesting, but the pacing's too fast to let you enjoy them. And I'm really not interested in Kav's story. 2.5 Stars.

“Life is too short to worry about things have fun, find adventures and regret nothing!”
Macy raised by a single mom, deceased from cancer she had followed her mom’s words and run from Her hometown. This wasn’t something Macy Underwood had thought she’d need to do, but her crazy, abusive manipulative ex had made her do it after hitting her.
She needed to get away from him; to end things with him, and to get a new start for life that she knew she always deserved. While doing so she’d Ended up in New Orleans where she’d met One of the five FURY brothers “Colt”.
Colt is an amazing single father who is also the country’s most cherished bounty hunter. Raising his half sister‘s daughter as his own after she’d Ode’d leaving Daisy alone. Daisy had almost landed in a foster home and Colt could not let that happen so he’d pulled all the connections and strings that he could to get her under his care.
Colt and his brothers had at some point being in the system and had been moved from one Home to another, until he and his brothers had all sworn out and fought for their freedom, and now they took care of each other.
Macy finally had a new life; and was now working as Colts Office-manager getting him jobs and making sure his office ran smoothly but feelings were starting to grow between them.
But then our bounty hunter must work his way into a solid romantic relationship as Macy starts getting weird prank calls, her favorite mug is broken, someone breaks into her home and attacks her in her house in the middle of the night and she’s even getting weird deliveries. Hmmm…..
She’s forced to move in with him and his super cute daughter. And they’re both trying hard to not fall for each other. But before long there’s kissing , touching and a whole lot more. Colt says he doesn’t do relationships and she promises no strings attached but we all know how that goes.
But every day that goes by the feelings between them only grow stronger and Colt starts being protective and possessive of her.
But No matter how much love was in the air for them; danger lingers in the same atmosphere. And to guarantee their happy ending they’d need to survive first!
⁉️Who do you think is the face behind all the uncertainties???
I’d tell you but then i’d have to spoil it for you and we can’t have that.😂😂 You’ve got to read this series seriously!
Totally totally loved this…my love for this series gets better as we move to the next book and i honestly cannot wait to read the next book

Colton and Macy are up and we have pure grump (except when he's around his daughter) and the sunniest sunshiner you can imagine. It's GLORIOUS.
So. Colton. He's grumpy. He's got some sort of patented scowl that could probably freeze evil-doers in their tracks. He's also a total marshmallow for the people in his inner circle. As it turns out, his inner circle mainly consists of his brothers, Daisy, the amazing housekeeper who watches Daisy and keeps Colt and his brothers fed with delicious food, and Macy. Sure, sure, Colt tries his hardest to pretend Macy isn't important to him in the grand scheme of things. He tries to convince himself that his attraction to her is just a flash in the pan. He does his best to keep his grumpy bear face on whenever she's around. But the lady gets under his skin and worms her way into his heart.
On Macy's end, she likes the Fury brothers as a whole, adores Daisy with all her heart, and thinks Colt and all his scowls are pretty darn awesome. If he only wants no strings, she can do no strings. She even (mostly) manages to convince herself that last one is true. It takes a terrible scare for her (and him) to realize no strings might not be enough.
A dangerous individual, the power of the combined might of the brothers when things go south, a little girl who loves her daddy and her uncles ridiculous amounts (and has them all wrapped around her finger), a man who's trying to be a better dad than his was, more than a few steamy kisses, and a lady who is willing to risk everything for the people she cares about most. GOOD TIMES!
When looking for something to read the tropes grumpy/sunshine and single dad aren’t appealing to me but GOD DAMN did this do it for me. I loved this couple with my entire heart, the found family aspect of this makes it so perfect. I am in love with the series and cannot wait for the next book.
Colt, bounty hunter extraordinaire, had his heart set on not catching feelings for his employee, Macy but did the universe have other plans. Macy was completely set on ruffling Colt’s gruff exterior at every turn. Push comes to shove and Macy is in trouble, Colt will do anything to protect this girl who he swears he has no feelings for. With forced proximity, feelings begin to bloom and god was it gorgeous.
If your love language is acts of service, READ THIS IMMEDIATELY. Colt is a man of few words but his shows Macy exactly how important she is to him. Daisy, Colt’s little girl, was too fucking cute. I can’t recommend this enough, please read!
Oh boy. that dragged. I very nearly didn’t finish it, and i hate saying that.
As a massive fan of this author, I’ve been really disappointed with this series. The first book was better but not by much. I really don’t like books where the man doesn’t want to have a relationship. Colt goes one step further. He kisses Macy then runs away as he doesn’t want a relationship. He’s giving her Or*l sex and they’re interrupted so he runs off again. It’s ridiculous.
We met Colt in the first book. Colt is a single dad to Daisy and he’s really not interested in having a relationship. He makes sure Macy knows this throughout nearly the whole book. Macy is Colts office manager, and I liked her more than Mari (?) from the first book, (Marginally.) But here we go again with the sad, lonely, friendless, woman who has no family. 🥱
When Macy starts receiving threatening texts Colt steps up to help her. This is where I had a major problem with this book. Colt doesn’t want a relationship with Macy, but moves her in with him and his daughter, as she’s in danger. So his daughter and Macy get really attached. Great father……
What happened to Anna Hackett? She’s gone from feisty women who have friends and a normal life to this? 🙄 Macy is s doormat! She has feelings for Colt but says she’s happy to keep it casual. The sex scenes felt clumsy and the weird interruptions during Macy and Colt’s fumbling was beyond weird.
I’m really hoping this series gets better. I’m just not enjoying it and that makes me sad.
I swear, I’m not feeling this book. Everything is so. . . Childish. It isn’t like Anna Hackett at all. I was surprised when this book came out because Fury only came out a month or two ago, and I am super disappointed.
She set up the story in the previous book so well! I was super excited to read about the other Fury brothers, but oh my God. I was laughing throughout this book. Not because it was funny, but because it was so cliche and repetitive and. . . I hate to use this word, but dumb.
This is the second story about the Fury brothers. This one concerns Colt and his office manager. He’s been attracted to her for a while, but refuses to act on it because much of his focus goes to his daughter and his job as a bounty hunter. He doesn’t think he has time for anything serious, so he’s become an expert at casual and no strings. Macy dated a guy in LA who ended up stalking her when she broke things off. Afterwards, she moved to New Orleans, and started working for Colt. She’s definitely attracted to him, but is on a relationship hiatus because of her former stalker. With these two protagonists both so reluctant, it’s been relatively easy to avoid each other. However, it’s getting harder now. And criminals keep committing crimes, so sometimes Colt is in danger.
This story is set up beautifully, and there are so many well-researched details conveyed in the telling. This author lives in Australia, so it’s always amazing to me how she gets it right with the details of places that are on the other side of the world from her. The story moves forward rapidly and has a perfect amount of tension. This is an enjoyable read from start to finish.
In this story our MMC is a single father. Technically it's his half sister's daughter, but he took her when his sister ODed. He is a bounty hunter and a bit of a grump. Our FMC is his office manager, and absolute sunshine. When her past comes looking for her, feelings that have been tamped down can no longer be hidden. For her safety he moves he in with him, and his brothers help him to find his target and protect her.
This second Fury brothers book is just as hot and engrossing as the first. I loved Macy's sunny personality and Colt's grouchyness. Pretty sure that's not a word but it should be. This fast paced story is an awesome read and I highly recommend it.
It was an okay read. It was very obvious from the beginning who's the stalker so I got bored in the middle. The whole story was about finding h(Macy) ex who's obsessed with her and is threatening her.
It also didn't make sense that Macy was able to contact her ex very easily but all these Fury brothers couldn't find him. It was kinda hilarious ngl.
