Our spooky girl got this for her birthday and somehow, other than the Encanto book, she loves it. And we’ve never even watched the movie. I think it’s the very lyrical writing that helps draw her in. And she really likes pointing out the bug on Lock, Shock and Barrel’s page. Tonight alone I think we read it four times. She kept reopening the book and looking at me expectantly. Oh well, another new one in the rotation.

A board book. I looooove this. Nightmare is one of my favorite movies and this book is such a fun way to introduce spooky fun to Everett. ☺️ My favorite line says "You're my cute little trickster, you always have a plan. But no matter what you're up to, know I'm your biggest fan."

You’re My Little Nightmare is one of those board books that feels like it was made for parents who grew up loving The Nightmare Before Christmas and want to share that spooky-sweet vibe with their kids. The rhyming text is simple and affectionate, and it leans hard into the idea that even your “little nightmare” is still completely loved—which is both funny and very relatable.

The chunky pages and sturdy design make it great for little hands, and the die-cut character shapes are a fun touch. Seeing Jack, Sally, Oogie Boogie, and the rest in such a cute, softened art style is honestly charming, especially for longtime fans. It’s festive enough for Halloween but gentle enough to read year-round.

I’m giving it 4 stars because while it’s adorable, it’s also pretty short and straightforward. Still, if you’re a Tim Burton fan or want a playful, slightly spooky board book that celebrates parent-child love, this one is a really fun addition to the shelf. 🎃💀🖤

Highlights: Illustrations are awesome! Rhyming sentences make reading together fun and sing-songy.

Lowlights: Words can be negatively interpreted but they are all cute and accurate representations of the movie "The Nightmare before Christmas".

Pretty much obsessed with this book. My toddler and I love the artwork, vibrant colors, and cute rhymes. You can never go wrong with the nightmare before Christmas. This book knocks it out of the park for little ones and lovers of the movie alike.
