The free-fighters have fought their first major engagement in their campaign to rid America's shores of foreign invaders after 100 years of occupation. With devastating results...Declaring it a victory, the free-fighters have suffered countless losses in the end. Century City, their secret underground stronghold, is crippled by a nuclear attack and may not be salvageable. And their ultimate soldier, the Doomsday Warrior, Ted Rockson, the man who has lead the rebellion against the Soviet Empire occupation cannot be found among the carnage and is presumed dead. Now, at this pivotal juncture in American post-apocalyptic history, the fight for freedom may never have been so hopeless...
Book six picks up right after Ted Rockson and his freedom fighters have their battle with the Communist/Nazis (????). Rockson is knocked out at the end of the fight and is found by slavers. He has no memory of who he is or anything he's done. He is taken to the growing Nazi HQ to work 16 hour days to build up the fourth Reich. Soon after, however, it all comes back to him. He leads an uprising of his fellow slaves against the Nazi horde.
This series is like a roller coaster in its six books I've read so far. The first was pretty lackluster. Then it gets good and then back down. This was probably the best by far. The characters are very different from most post-nuke books. Like the giant swampy creatures that live in the bubbling murky swamp where the Nazis throw their dead and discarded chemicals and pollutants. They like to eat fresh Nazis. To them nothing tastes better.
Chemicals, dead prisoners, waste, makes a new life form that wants to see the grim reaper. The new Life-form seeks the final release of true death. Ted takes down another red Hive with help of prisoners and the new life-form.
