Forgive the author his predilection for exclamation points, and the publisher for some sloppy copy-editing (rife with misemployed apostrophes and typographical errors, and you may find this nonetheless an enjoyable and well-researched history of frontier justice in southern New Mexico, as Bob Alexander expands from the subject of the lesser-known gunfighter Dan Tucker to encompass a dramatic view of life in frontier Deming, Silver City, Shakespeare, and El Paso County.

Bob does it again. His writings take us to the side streets of western lore. From obscure places like Silver City to the border rangers. Bob's meticulous research brings to life many engrossing stories of our western heritage.
