Saranne Dawson's narration is unique, certainly not for everyone. But her world is vividly captured and consuming. I read this book over 10 years ago but for some reason the story never left me. It is Romance fantasy, but nothing like the contemporary saturated tales we have filling the bookshelves. It's like It was written by someone from a different time, observing different rules. I didn't like how it ended so abruptly but that's because I loved it so.

This book is not a futuristic romance as the cover states but is a fantasy that had some great ideas but didn't deliver. The demons and the magic are disappointingly downplayed and there is very little dialogue making this a dull read. The couple are okay people but didn't engage my emotions
