Climb in and hold on tight! Kids will love spending a day at the Bear Country Amusement Park, where they'll experience the stomach-dropping, heart-stopping thrills of a giant roller coaster right along with the Berenstain Bears.
Stan and Jan Berenstain (often called The Berenstains) were American writers and illustrators best known for creating the children's book series the Berenstain Bears. Their son Mike Berenstain joined them as a creative team in the late 1980s.
Hold onto your hats! In this book, the four Berenstains are going to make an attempt at braving the twists and turns of the terrifying Thunderbolt. The giant coaster's biggest hill may be a daunting prospect, and Papa may become a little bit green around the gills by the time their roller car slows to a stop at the end of the ride, but the Thunderbolt experience is sure to be a fun and memorable one.
There's not a lot to this story, but it should be enjoyable for beginning readers, and would make a good read-aloud for pre-readers. The adventures of the Berenstain family have introduced young readers to the joy of literature for generations, and I'm glad to see them continue to do exactly that.
This book was showing the steps for riding a rollercoaster named the Thunderbolt. It was the perfect representation of what a rollercoaster is because they start with waiting in line, buying tickets, getting on, and buckling up which is the most important part in my opinion. At the end Papa Bear got sick and it shows that people do get sick even when others like it.
This book follows the Berenstain Bears and their day at the amusement park where they ride a roller coaster. The roller coaster goes up and down and around and upside down until it ends. Some of the characters enjoy the roller coaster, while some feel pretty sick after. This book can be used in the classroom to learn about adjectives and describing words.
Everyone had a blast on the Thunderbolt except Papa Bear. Mama Bear initially looked apprehensive but she emerged in sound health. The cubs: YIPPIE KAI YAY!!!
Now I want to get on a roller coaster.

28 months - this is a great first reading book. It's very simple but surprisingly well liked by kids. My step son loved this one and we read it repeatedly when he was learning to read. My daughter and I read it for the first time last night and she had to read it a second time, then talk about it and look at the pictures on her own and then read it again this morning.
The Berenstain Bears went to ride a rollercoaster. The rollercoaster went down a huge hill and went into the dark. The two children and mother loved the rollercoaster and wanted to ride it again but the dad became sick after riding it. The mother and two children ended up going on it again while the dad sat on the bench.
Good begining reader. Julia thought it was too easy and "a little silly" but it would be a good read for Liam as he starts learning to read on his own.
