Between Dawn and Dusk #5

The Fae Warrior's Queen

Rate this book
I don’t know how long I’ve been enslaved in the Lost Land, but by the time a fierce warrior comes to my rescue, I think it’s too late for me. This place robs you of your emotions and takes away all your hope. It turns you into an empty shell until there’s nothing left to save.

But, miraculously, within minutes of meeting Kai, I start to feel sparks of life inside me—admiration, attraction, and most of all, empathy. My scarred hero wears the evidence of his own trauma on his skin. Hundreds of thick lines are displayed on his arms, his back, and even on his face. He’s obviously been through unthinkable pain, yet he’s strong, brave, and passionately determined to resurrect my dead heart.

Unfortunately, my captor won’t just let us walk out of here. Always one for games, the evil overlord presents us with our only way to If we face three challenges in his enchanted maze and win each test, we’re free to go. Kai has no idea what he’s agreeing to when he says yes, but I do. Without a doubt, it’s a trick. Because Armand wants my misery above all else, and the best way for him to get it is to let me fall in love with a man I don’t get to keep.

This was so good! If you like Jamie Schlosser you would like this too. Kai and Ro’s journey is emotional and action packed. Instant attraction and a willingness to protect each other. The trials were entertaining and healing for the characters, facing their hardest days and overcoming them. I wish for a slight bit more like actual romance outside of the sex and action but it was good! There was a lot going on and it definitely ends on a bit of a cliffy.

I am excited to see Madden and Zaylee’s story, the idea of a dark barbarian fae is hot and intriguing and I liked the little hints that Madden gave into his and Zaylee’s relationship. I hope their book actually goes back in time a little to see the build up of their relationship, they seem to have a hot and fun dynamic!

And my poor babies don’t get a break! Each couple may have got their own HEA’s in their books but shit just keeps cracking down! You may need some tissues toward the end. Lets just say the third challenge brought some tears to my eyes!

Can’t wait to read the next book!! Ill be obsessively checking and stalking!

Content Notes: there was some heavy topics in this one, it is definitely a bit darker than the original three fae king books, this is a bit more like the dark fae duology. Ro has trauma from her abuse with Zarid and in the first challenge she has to face a mirage of him, this could be potentially triggering for some. Also, something I noted while reading was the religious aspect. Ro is Catholic and she was mocked for her faith so being able to accept her beliefs and continue in her hope and prayer is a bit of a character arc for her. This didn’t take over the story, but it was mentioned enough times that I took note of it. As someone who isn’t religious, I don’t enjoy religion in my novels but really it was easy enough to ignore and wasn’t shoved down my throat and didn’t beat me over the head.

This was one of my first ever fae fantasy series I read when I started reading again a year or two ago. So I was THRILLED that the next book came out, and it was about Kai!!!

And did I go find my husband at 32% of the way through? Um, yes. Yes, I did. 😏🥵

The spice was giving 🤌🌶 and instant love with fated mates is always superior because they get straight into it 😂

I also loved seeing a bit of Zander again that man will always be my favorite 😂

If anyone in this series deserves a HEA it was Ro 100%! That women went through so much in her life, but of course the author gave her the perfect story and hero! That’s not to say it was easy for them, but this couple was perfect for each other. Kai deserved love so much. The way he say his self before his sunny, it broke my heart. I was so glad when she finally got through his thick skull that he was amazing. The story it’s self sucked me in. It was difficult and I honestly hated to see it end. I was rooting for them from the very start…. Heck, even before that. When we learned that Kai was going to try and save her I was rooting for their HEA and I’m so glad we got it! The author did an amazing job at setting up for the next book in this series and I will say, I can’t wait! 5 stars

Ellister, part of the dark fae and Kai, part of King Kirian’s entourage in the Night Realm go to the The Lost Land to rescue King Zander’s mother, Queen Ro. Kai promises Queen Ro the ability to stay on Earth, in Valora or anywhere she wants to go as long as she leaves the Lost Land

I loved the relationship and budding love between Ro & Kai. So glad Zander got his just desserts. I absolutely loved this book and the epilogue was truly a chef's kiss

I consider myself to be an occasional paranormal romance reader as they’re something I only read when the mood for a palate cleanser strikes, and fantasy/Fae books are still new to me. The Between Dawn and Dusk books have been my first Fae romance reads and the previous four books in this series were ones I enjoyed and flew through in a few days. ‘The Fae Warrior’s Queen’ was no different and it was hard to put this down.

In summary this series features couples with obvious and explosive chemistry. They have a willingness to fight for, protect, and live for one another and the kingdoms they rule over. Whilst all the romances are that of fated mates the relationship development doesn’t feel rushed and each relationship in the series feels unique. There is plenty of story outside of the romance plot which involved adventure, danger, and action that tested the main characters in different ways. Largely featured as a whole series arc, these elements continually added to the series as it developed and resulted in strong world building that in addition to the romance captured your attention.

Tropes featured in this series include:

Triggers in this series include:

I have written more about this specific book below.

Triggers specific to this book include

'The Fae Warrior’s Queen' tells the story of Kai on a mission within The Lost Land to find and save Queen Ro. These characters have both been prominent in the previous four books and whilst we’ve learnt things about them a lot remained unknown. Throughout their book we’re given lots of information about their pasts and how it shaped them and it was a joy to see our scared hero and scared heroine find happiness.

Kai throughout the series so far has been quiet, mysterious, and guarded. He’s a character whose book I have been waiting for and I enjoyed learning more about him. His confidence whilst at times humorous was a largely defining feature of his character, in both battle and in his approach to Ro. He was caring, kind, and his personality worked well with Ro which made them a great couple. Ro’s history within the fae world is largely established and whilst prior to the book we have known what she has endured we didn’t really know how it affected her. Ro is a survivor and she’s kind. That much is obvious but this book shows that she is a silent saviour and extremely intelligent. I loved learning more about her and seeing her confidence in herself and her abilities grow as the book progressed. The non physical intimacy created between them was amazing in addition to the fantastic build up of their connection and chemistry and these two certainly had some steamy scenes but there is more than just romance in this book.

The trials that Kai and Ro face in the book were interesting and engaging and the imagery brought on by the writing was great. Rather than spending the majority of the book within the established kingdoms, this book took place within The Lost Land. The setting of the book gave the reader a deeper understanding of The Lost Land and the effect it has on those who inhabit it which added to the world that Schlosser has created within this series. There was plenty of adventure, danger, and action which added to the world building elements present in this series in both familiar and new ways and gave the reader another fated mates romance which felt unique.

I loved how Kai and Ro’s relationship is left at the end of the book so I look forwarding to seeing more of them but the book ends with a build up to the greatest challenge that the inhabitants of Valora have faced so I cannot wait to see what happens next and will be looking out for news regarding the next book. Bring it on!

Favourite Quote:
“You, Sunny, are the exception to my every rule. Everything that I am - my life, my heartbeat, my very soul if I had one right now - is yours. You became my purpose the instant I heard your voice. Every breath I take is for you, and I don't know how or why that is. I just know it to be true. Just like the Day Realm has two suns or the Night Realm has three moons, you have me.”

5/5 ⭐️ 3/5 🌶

Kai and Ro’s story! I never thought of this pair, but it works so well!!! Spoiler, we know going into this book that they will be mates, so that isn’t surprising, but the way they fall in love is! What a unique premise for this plot. Kai is taken to the Lost Land to retrieve queen Ro. The Lost Land is a desolate place, where you no longer have a soul. Ro is in quite the state when Kai finds her and she has given up, but Kai might be the only thing to make her feel something. But in order to free her, he is forced to enter into an agreement with the overlord who is holding her captive. It is an impossible situation where he and Ro face almost certain death, but he is determined to save her. Not just because she is his mission, but because now that he has met her, he knows that his world will never be the same without her in it.

I loved how gentle Kai was with Ro. She has been through so much and has had so much trauma, but he knew exactly how to give her what she needed. He also has his own demons to deal with, and he was able to find unconditional acceptance with Ro. He was never judged for his appearance, but for the gentle giant he was on the inside. He was so protective of her, but also wanted her to fight for herself and to gain control of her world again. Even in the lost world without their souls, they couldn’t help but be drawn together (even if they both thought they weren’t supposed to want each other/be worthy of the other). They were each other’s safe space.

Tropes:
-fae warrior/human queen
-MMC that is a gentle giant with her, but also literally would slay anyone who would harm her
-deadly games to win freedom
-traumatized pasts
-fated mates
-spicy open door romance

“I’ve seen many women cry, but it’s never made me want to crawl outside of myself, burn the world to the ground, then kneel at her feet with the ashes of all her enemies in my palms as an offering.”

“You, Sunny, are the exception to my every rule. Everything that I am—my life, my heartbeat, my very soul if I had one right now—is yours. You became my purpose the instant I heard your voice.”

Kai and Ro - all the swoons, all the danger and all the healing

Phew. This book. I was so excited to finally get Ro and Kai’s story and it did not disappoint. The amount of creativity and imagination the author weaves into the story is incredible. She paints whole worlds with her words. The characters and worlds she creates are so rich and vibrant I feel like I am there with the characters in Valora and the Lost Land rather than simply reading jumbles of words on a page. Queen Ro, human mother of King Zander of the Day Realm in Valora, has been kidnapped and taken to the Lost Land by the dark fae. Prior to her kidnapping she’d left Valora to return to Earth and Brazil to try to heal from millennia of torture at the hands of her sadistic husband and now she a captive of Armand, a dark fae overlord. Kai is a heavily scarred fae warrior born in the Day Realm but sworn to King of the Night Realm. His fae power is healing but he is unable to heal his own scars, neither the internal nor the external ones. Kai has been sent into the Lost Land to rescue and return with Ro. But first they’ll have to play the sadistic challenge game of Armand. You would not think the harsh and barren Lost Land, in the middle of three potentially impossible challenges for your life, while missing your soul, would be the best backdrop for finding true love but it is. I just loved the way Kai and Ro gently, lovingly, beautifully, and at times painfully helped each other come out of their self-imposed trauma based prisons and begin to shine together. I have a soft spot for the people who are a bit uncomfortable in their skin because they don’t feel like they fit in or are worthy, like Kai and Ro. So I love when they finally see their truth and they get swoon worthy HEAs. This story give me all the big feels - laughing, crying, swooning, cringing, teeth gritting, and cheering through all the sweet moments, steamy scenes, chuckles, supportive friends, messy families, painful pasts, evil actors, and heart squeezing love. I love these characters and Valora. I cannot wait to read Zaylee and Pippin’s story next.

Book after book the “Between Dawn and Dusk” series by Jamie Schlosser is getting better and better and “The Fae Warrior’s Queen” is the fifth installment.
This world of the Fae is an addicting reality, there’s darkness, cruelty and betrayals from your own kin, you need to be ruthless and cunning to survive and you must find people you can trust with your life, friends and fated mates to balance everything, because it’s worth it. Beyond the darkness there is so much magic and beauty in the realms, and bonds and feelings are intense.
This book is about Kai, the scarred healer and warrior we saw in the previous books, and Ro, the queen and Zander’s mom. I was intrigued from the start with Kai, because of his secrets about his past, his scars, but also because he’s a real warrior and a healer, to things that are opposite.
Reading the series I didn’t see in my mind a story with Ro as heroine, but I was so wrong… There is no Kai without her. Ro’s soul is so full of sweetness, humanity and she’s the perfect match for him. She survived the worst in the past, she has scars inside her but she didn’t lost her ability to love and her unselfishness. She’s resilient and strong.
And Kai is just amazing. He was sent to rescue her in the Lost Land from a kidnapping, and together with Ro must face three dangerous and deadly tests, but he can’t help himself to fall in love with Ro, showing her his vulnerability and giving her everything she needs. Being a healer is his inner essence, his soul, not only his power as Fae.
I loved this book for the beauty of the characters, their emotions are so real: love, lust, friendship, trust… and the plot is engaging, lead directly to a new challenge for the future of the Realms, where everything changed so fast from the beginning of the series.
Can’t wait for the next story, it can’t be soon enough.

4.25 Stars!

Having read the other books in this series I was so glad that we were getting more! I started looking forward to this one right away. I picked it up and got right back into the Between Dawn and Dusk world! I enjoyed this story so very much!

Right from the start, this story and it's characters drew me right in! Kai is on a mission to save a certain woman in the Lost Land. This place has taken so much from the woman Kai nicknames Sunny. As their lives collide, Can Kai and Sunny fight their way out of the Lost Land and find something so much more together in the process?

Oh my heart! How I felt for both of these characters and the things they'd been through in their lives. From the start I was on edge and so invested. I went through so many emotions from start to finish which I so enjoyed! The ways in which Kai cared about and wanted to protect Sunny had me swooning. He was so determined which I loved. There was such realness to Sunny that got to me and I admired her strength.

From the heart and real to the blushworthy, The chemistry between these two was fantastic! I didn't know which directions their journey would take which had me turning the pages even more.

Just like with the previous installments, I could picture things so vividly. I was so glad to be back in this world!

With The Fae Warrior's Queen, Ms.Schlosser has created such a great read that brought depth, heart, steam, and utter uniqueness! This series and this world are one of a kind and getting to dive back into it made me so happy! I can't wait for more from this author! If you haven't checked out this series, you so should!

This book gave me THE biggest book hangover ever! Kai and Sunny's story is action packed from the very first page with steam, tragedy, and quick wit. Absolutely fantastic and completely unputdownable!

Kai has ways been my favorite in this series and his story doesn't disappoint! He is every bit the hardened warrior he shows the world, but he's so much more. He's obviously protective and intense, but he's also gentle and insecure about his scars. When he first meets Sunny in the Lost Land, he instantly feels a pull toward her. (He's the one who gives her the nickname of Sunny and I flipped when I found out who she really is! But, no spoilers!) In the beginning, Sunny thinks of herself as weak and feels like she doesn't really belong anywhere. But she's actually a survivor, strong, smart, and so kind. I love how these two see one another. She sees Kai for who he is and loves everything about him. He sees Sunny for the wonderful woman she is and loves her fiercely.

Watching them navigate through the challenges Sunny's captor puts them through was thrilling! These two have an amazing bond and can do anything together. I loved how they came to love one another. They both have terrible hurts in the past but I think it makes them that much more perfect together. Get ready for a wild ride and to ignore life around you when you start this book!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

Perfection, outstanding, amazing, incredible, I don't have words to describe all the feelings this book made me feel.

Just WOW!!!!!!!

If you have read the rest of the series you know that the warrior named Kai was assigned the mission of finding Queen Ro, mother of King Zander, at the end of book 4 of Dawn and Dusk series.

If you haven't read it, don't worry about it, you can read each book as standalone because each book has a different couple, just outside the couple plot other things happen, but the author give you an small abstract about it, so don't panic.

Well, Kai is one of the best warriors of all Valora, and he is sent to the Lost Land to find Queen Ro, she have been captive there for about a while, due to the pass of the time is different in Valora and the Lost Land.

Anyway the thing is that what could appear as a few days for this couple, could be years for people in Valore

Well, Kai finds Ro easily, and there was the catch, the one who had her forces him to make a deal for their freedom, and that's how they ended going inside a maze, an as the same way Hércules has to win all of them, they have to do it too.

During this time, several things change, new characters and old characters and almost give me a heart attack with the cliffhanger she put at the end of the book, now I just need another book.

Thank you so much, I loved Kai, it was impossible not to, I love how he healed Ro in every possible aspect.
In love with our scarred warrior.

All the stars, I absolutely loved these two, and this fantastic and heartfelt addicting book crack series storyline. So damn good, there really are no words, but I’ll do my best anyway.

So, we get to go on a mission with our sexy ass scarred healing warrior Kai to the Lost Land…to save Queen Ro aka Zander’s mom. And he has to rescue her from an obnoxiously powerful evil overlord that likes to play mind games on the game participants with his very interactive and realistic illusions. I think we all know this does not go as planned. There’s more twists and turns than you can possibly think up, or even fathom. Armand was quite creative with his game challenges, because there is a lot at stake depending on the winner. For 2 people that are soulless, because everyone loses their soul in the Lost Land, Kai and Ro have off the charts chemistry, like it’s instant in its intensity.

Fantastic edge of your seat storyline, with game challenges that will have you saying wtaf, all the heartfelt emotions, and a big side of intensely sexy and beautiful soulmates. I feel like Kai really made up for all the things she suffered, and I mean that on many levels *wags eyebrows*. Epilogue that will leave you needing more, and a well earned, and much deserved hea.

I believe in brand loyalty, and I think it's safe to say I'll always be a Jamie Schlosser fan as long as she keeps writing.
The first book I ever read was The Fae King's Curse, which I devoured in a matter of hours and became my personal favorite. Since then, I've been craving more of this wonderful series where hilarious human women end up in the magical Fae world. Now she's given me a new edition to adore, The Fae Warrior's Queen.
When warrior Kai goes to the Lost Lands to rescue a woman he nicknames Sunny (no, I won’t spoil who she really is for all you future readers!) he didn’t expect to feel such a pull toward her. She’s hurt and starving and needs his help desperately. But in order to free her, they need to join forces and complete a series of tests before their captor will let them go.
While the pair is so different in nearly every day, they each have had such tragedy in their lives. It’s almost unfair it’s taken so long for each to find a bit of happiness. But as soon as they meet, it’s clear there’s something bubbling between them that draws them closer than any test ever could.
They see through each other’s insecurities and build something lovely and lasting through their shared trials. It’s steamy and witty and beautiful.

I'm so obsessed with this series, and I'm very much grateful that I actually opened my mind up enough to actually read it. I only say that because I don't read a ton of paranormal, and those with Fae in them haven't been high on the list so I promise you the Between Dawn and Dusk series is fabulous & again, I'm super OBSESSED. Kai is our tortured hero who is a Fae warrior, and he's been through some things in his life which has done a number on him inside and out. His story starts with him going to the Lost Lands to rescue Ro, who he's nicknamed Sunny. Sunny has been through her own share of things, but her scars are on the inside, and little do these two know, they're the perfect match for each other. Of course there's a Big Bad involved so they're going to be put to the test in a dangerous aspect as well but that fact gives great action & suspense which kept me on the edge of my seat. I'm a sucker for the suspense & high adventure but there's also the emotional goodness, and so much heat all wrapped up in a colorful bow that I couldn't get enough of! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I can’t get enough of these sweet mighty warriors

I have loved this series from book one and they keep getting better and better.

Each one can be read like a standalone I guess because they feature a new couple within each book but they have a single overall connecting arc that ties them together. Plus with each new addition we get to see past couples and their families and how they are growing.

This newest addition is the warrior Kai and former Queen Ro. Both have appeared in previous books so for them to finally have their own story 😘 (chefs kiss) perfection! And I’m totally hooked and salivating for Zaylee and Madden’s story next. Jamie has a way of building such great stories that you want more and more.

This book does have dark undertones since Ro is a survivor of unspeakable things but to see her heal and bloom under Kai’s steady, caring hands was heart meltingly good. Plus Ro brought healing to him too. 🥰

A m/f epic romantic fantasy. Beware the words of fae!

I was so ready to give this a 2 star review... then the tides turned at the 80% mark. Ma'am Jamie Schlosser. WHAT IN THE WORLD? You mean to tell me there's going to be another book about Princess Zaylee? I went into this series thinking after book 5 I will miss this world. But noooooo. I will pine for the next book.

So, I almost hated this book. Almost. I didn't like all the time jumps, I didn't like the new worlds and the introduction of the dark fae trapped in an ALTERNATE UNIVERSE (FFS) starting from book 4. I actually pretty much despised book 4. But this? My heart freaking broke because of these freaking challenges in the books.

My initial thinking of it was "what in the Maze Runner p*rn is this?!" but all of my hang ups about the story went away after I was devastated with the 3rd challenge in the book. DEVASTATED. There's a reason I look for chill books with little to no angst and no drama--and that reason showed up as I was finishing this book. But my gahd I NEED the next freaking book!!

I absolutely love this series and can’t get enough of it!

Jamie Schlosser writes phenomenal fantasy books and she definitely delivers with The Fae Warrior’s Queen.

In this book we get Queen Ro’s story and it’s one that was intriguing from the very beginning. Queen Ro was captured and taken to the Lost Land where she has been for years. When Kai, a warrior of the Night Realm, comes to her rescue Ro doesn’t quite know what to think. She’s been under Lord Armand for so long she doesn’t quite believe anything good can happen to her anymore.

I loved the hurdles that Kai and Ro have to overcome throughout the book in order to fight their way to freedom. Ro gets to rediscover herself through the challenges they meet and also starts to feel emotions that she thought were long since dead within her.

The Fae Warrior’s Queen is full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing as to what is going to happen until the very end. I can’t recommend this book and this series enough!

What an adventure!! I adore Kai & Ro! Their attraction, loyalty, banter, communication, LOVE!!!

I can't even say much because everything feels like it would be spoilery. I'll just say that when I said it was an adventure, that is a spot-on description. Their story is sweet, with a lot of 🔥🔥🔥! These two are very amorous along the way. 😉

We learn a lot about them, their pasts & how they help each other heal from some horrible events. Their hearts are so huge, and I love getting to know them more. Their story also has quite a bit of bloodshed - Kai IS a warrior, after all, and he battles well. 😉

The scenery and descriptions are so well-written! The beauty and desolation of various areas throughout the realm are so vivid, as always with this series. I feel like I'm THERE in every book.

😍😍😍

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, Jamie delivers a story that packs all the elements from suspense to steam and everything in between. This book kept me on the edge of my seat from the first sentence all the way until the end.

I can’t even begin to put into words how much I loved this book. I was hooked right from the start and I knew the moment I started, I wouldn’t be putting it down. Who needs sleep anyway?

Kai and Ro are everything I wanted them to be and so much more. I was enthralled with them from the very beginning and I fell in love with them as they fell in love with each other.

Five stars for this captivating read that will have me coming back for more because one time reading it will never be enough!

“The Fae Warrior’s Queen” is the fifth book in Jamie Schlosser’s Between Dawn and Dusk series, and I have to say as a fan of the series that it was even better than I’d expected it to be! Kai and Ro’s story was both heartfelt and emotional, and I was rooting for them to find happiness together the whole time. They’d both been through so much pain, and I really felt like they understood each other’s trauma, which made their bond that much stronger. Kai was the absolute swooniest - he was protective of Ro, yes, but he didn’t stifle her, which is something I thought was important considering everything she’d been through. I also loved the way Ro gained confidence as the book progressed - her strength has always been admirable, but I loved seeing her happy as well. All in all, this was a fantastic addition to the series - I highly recommend!

Kai and Ro’s whirlwind love story was an emotional rollercoaster ride filled with action, adventure, danger, suspense and passion. It was also filled with some very magical moments that had my heart soaring over and over again.

My heart was racing the whole way through and I think I was gripping my kindle so tightly it may have cracked!

The imagery and world building was vividly written bringing this magical story to life.

I instantly fell in love with Kai and Ro and loved how perfectly matched they were. They have fantastic chemistry, which at times had me utterly melting with the amount of heat these two gave off.

Such a fantastic story that had me devouring every intense and emotional moment from beginning to end.

I have loved this series ever since the first book and I am so excited that Ro has her story told! Ro is one of those side characters from a past book that you wished would get a HEA and I loved seeing her journey there.

This story completely sucked me in and I was so sad when it was over. Kai is the perfect alpha male and oh boy is he one steamy man. Yummy.

I really hope we are not done with this world, I love it so much and the characters are all amazing. Another wonderful book by this author.

Like the vortex that catapults Kai to the Lost Land, opening the book sucked me right back into this magical world. The warrior must go there to rescue the missing Queen Ro.
She’s held captive by an evil overlord in a land that’s vast, grey and devastating. His only chance to bring her back is to pass three dangerous and mindf*cking quests.
Will he save her in time…?

I was captivated once again by this author’s magic creation. I can only hope someone discovers the books making them into movies or series!!!

I had to put the book down only because my body demanded sleep.
Highly addictive!

Loved every second!

I just hope this isn’t the last book in the series!

An unexpected trip back into the world Between Dawn and Dusk

I absolutely loved the series when I first read it and never expected another book. Hoped yes, but not another addition. Since it’s been a while, I didn’t recognize some of the characters and relationships right away. However, I totally got into this book and the predicament our two main characters find themselves. Ro and Kai are the unlikely couple you would expect but that’s what’s amazing of this series. They are the couple you root for by the end. Their epic journey to HEA will have you captivated. I really do hope there is another installment.

Man, I was really hoping this book would recapture what I originally loved about the first few books in the series, but really after the second book and even the third, the quality of the characters and the writing just really didn't feel the same to me. This was certainly an interesting concept, and I appreciated the way that the characters were able to connect through their trials, but mostly this just made me miss how much I loved the first book in this series, and how much I wish the entire series had been just wonderful as that first book.

Wow, this one was a trip. It felt like there was action from start to finish.

Kai is venturing into the Lost Lands to rescue Queen Ro. Once he reaches her, both of them soulless, they find themselves caught up in an evil overlord’s game full of high stakes. But it is clear from the very beginning, there is something between them. A longing, an instant attraction, and a protectiveness that surprises them both.

I adored Kai—I can’t resist a strong and broody hero. I mean, he has scars! He’s been tortured! He’s angsty! And yet, he’s all in on saving Ro and will do anything to save her.

And Ro, at the very ends of her rope before Kai finds her, but discovers her backbone and how strong she really is when they venture through the tricky games together.

I enjoyed the action and suspense, and the interactions between the two were sweet. I loved seeing characters from the previous books in the series; it made me super nostalgic. Can’t wait for the next.

I love this series!! Every book is unique,
and I love everything about them. It
never ceases to amaze me, how this
world the author created can change so
much but flow so well at the same time.
I'm always surprised that every book
seems to become my favorite. I loved
Sunny and Kai's story, from beginning
to end. Omg, that cliffy though, I don't
know how I'll manage not knowing till
the next book comes out. Can't wait!!!

Good Series good steam, but too quick

I loved the story line of these books however after reading all of them, I felt like the romance was too quick. Essentially, they see their true love, have a boink fest and then get pregnant and live Happily ever after. If that’s your preference, this is a good series for you but I like a little more fight for the relationship not the easy street.

I have been waiting for Kai to find his mate and this story did not disappointed. Kai the loyal soldier. Ro the queen that disappeared and needs saving as well. Adventure, tension all collide in this story as Ro and Kai navigate their past, present, This story is.sweet, hot, quirky with characters that you can't help root for.
