Caitlin Crews discovered her first romance novel at the age of twelve, in a bargain bin at the local five and dime. It involved swashbuckling pirates, grand adventures, a heroine with rustling skirts and a mind of her own, and a seriously mouthwatering and masterful hero. The book (the title of which remains lost in the mists of time) made a serious impression. Caitlin was immediately smitten with romances and romance heroes, to the detriment of her middle school social life. And so began her life-long love affair with romance novels, many of which she insists on keeping near her at all times, thus creating a fire hazard of love wherever she lives.

Caitlin has made her home in places as far-flung as York, England and Atlanta, Georgia. She was raised near New York City, and fell in love with London on her first visit when she was a teenager. She has backpacked in Zimbabwe, been on safari in Botswana, and visited tiny villages in Namibia. She has, while visiting the place in question, declared her intention to live in Prague, Dublin, Paris, Athens, Nice, the Greek Islands, Rome, Venice, and/or any of the Hawaiian islands. Writing about exotic places seems like the next best thing to actually moving there.

She currently lives in Oregon with her animator/comic book artist husband and their menagerie of ridiculous animals.

Royal princess obsessed with Hero.

They have met a handful of times and she has done everything possible to make it look like they are in a relationship with the paparazzi. But they actually are not in any kind of a relationhip , he wants nothing to do with her. She stirs something in him he wants no part of.

She crashes his wedding.

He doesn't get married because his bride runs off with his brother.

She shows up at his home after the canceled wedding and goes to his bedroom where he's brooding.
They have sex.
Warning to some, the sex was more erotica and this went on for more than a couple pages.
I skimmed it, personal preference.

After the sex he's pretty much done with her. She is not safe for him emotionally. And he leaves.

Three months later she's pregnant. Goes back to his place to let's him know.
He decides they need to get married.

They marry and eventually he excepts the wonderful emotions she brings out in him. They then live HEA. This wasn't one of my favorites of CC.

Loved the epilogue. As always CC does a great job.

Sorry but I didn’t like this. Never thought I’d say this about a CC novel - but it was boring - and I simply couldn’t engage with the characters. DNF after 20%.

3.5 stars! The premise was fun as usual with Caitlin Crews, but I would have loved if she had leaned more into it. I loved a lot of the visuals that the setting on a tidal island invoked, and Crews did an amazing job of fitting the emotional scenes to the landscape and weather.

The Story Was Good. And I Enjoyed The Way The h Fought To Redeem The H. I Found The Story To Dark At Times, That It Put A Taste Of
S&B. Every Relationship Can’t Be Straight Forward But Even C C Writing Was In Bonds And The Flow Left A Lot To Be Desired. But I Did Enjoy The Ending. It Was Much Better Then The Beginning That Made Me Think I Wouldn’t Be Able To Finish The Story.

Is it just me or are HPs getting boring? I used to look forward to the angst, misunderstandings, drama, and tears. And most of the recent HPs have been really calm with decent communication. I find it annoying.

surprised to realize this was published so recently as the FMC's single-minded obsession over the guy reminded me more of 70s era harlequin than more contemporary titles.

the ending was sweet and I like how the MMC's family issues were resolved but the FMC felt a bit too old-school for me.

Loved the tortured hero and the sweet smitten heroine! She was so patient with the broken hero and she healed him with her love! Heartwarming love story!

Really the worst book I have read in a very long time. Kept hoping it would get better but it never did.
