Another super spicy, taboo good time from QB Tyler! From the beginning of this book, I really loved the dynamic between Avery and Theo. She was best friends with Theo's son, who obviously still has feelings for her, but she's been crushing on his dad for years. This book did jump into an already established connection between Avery and Theo, which definitely surprised me. But I loved how Theo would always show up for Avery and just couldn't resist, no matter how much he wanted to.
We learned so much about Theo's character and his family, which was the major subplot of this book. I liked the comparison between Theo's situation and his reaction to his own daughter's relationship. I really wanted to learn more about Avery's character, though, and delve into her as a person besides her friends and working at her mom's bakery. A few of her accomplishments were mentioned, but I really wanted more about these characters and who they were and what they wanted from life outside of the steamy scenes. A little more depth into their lives, specifically Avery, would have made their characters fleshed out and this book even stronger.
There was definitely angst, which I love, and I loved watching them truly fall hard and fast for each other into love territory. You know there's going to be drama if anyone finds out about them! For a spicy forbidden romance with a girl and her guy best friend's dad, you have to pick this one up!

Re-read but audio this time: omfg getting to hear this work of art in my ears WAS NEXT LEVEL!!! Jesus this book was just as hot as the first time I read it but even better as most audios are by allowing me to experience it more 🤭🤭🤭 I LOVE THEO SO MUCH! Him & Avery are burning tension all wrapped up in a pretty bow!!! Highly recommend the audio when you decide to read this spicy af, taboo, best friends dad romance!!

dad’s best friend and forbidden love will always remain one of the top tier tropes and I’ll fight anyone who disagrees on that matter, but this one was absolutely straight up smut and even though both mcs (which I already forgot their names) were actually enjoyable and cute, it was tiresome. It was kinda a fun read tho

I had high expectations that were not met 😭 I still enjoyed this though!!
The book starting with Theo and Avery already having hooked up really bothered me and tbh I never got over it 🤷🏽♀️ I wish we would’ve seen the beginning of them even if their first kiss we did get a flash back and it was only like once/twice before the start of the book but still… I wanted to see them try and fight their attraction just a tiny bit but they fell into bed almost immediately. There was a small “we shouldn’t” “we’re not going the whole way” but 2 minutes later they were like well fuck it!!! 🙄 FULL SEND!
I felt like there was sooo much drinking and partying in here and honestly it gave me the ick that they had a party/went out with Theo. I know they’re 21 and JUST graduated buuuuut idk it was weird to me. When I read age gap I like the fmc to be more mature and while Avery was in most aspects, I felt like Theo was written to almost try and fit in with her friends. Going out with each others friends is important in relationships yes but they were hiding it still and the scenarios they were put in just didn’t sit right with me.
I don’t understand where she got daddy issues from lmao it’s never mentioned that she had any kind of strain on her & her dads relationship so that was odd. I wish we would’ve gotten to see them tell her dad & Rebecca about them being together.
As always with these kinda tropes when all gets out and they have to pick between their SO and child… as a mother I understand and would never pick anyone over my child but in these kind of books it’s just pisses me off 😂😂💀💀 like grow up

My reviews for QB always starts with THIS WAS FUCKING AMAZING. She did it again.
This is bestfriends dad except her bestfriend is a guy who was also in love with her 👀 Avery and Theo were honestly perfect for each other. Like any QB book there was so much sneaking around, drunk nights, and YOURE MINE moments🥵 her books always hit the spot when you want Forbidden. Theo was obsessed and just perfect. Avery was so much fun. Even Lucas was the perfect bestfriend. This book is wholesome.
Can we talk about when Theo pulled a Nick Jonas move w the chair pulling!! OMG HOW CAN I FORGET?!! The Ferris wheel scene??😭😭 the smut in this book was truly out of this world. The double scene we get when two guys hit on her and he’s like “I’m her man” “husband… NOT YET” 😮💨
Honestly I loved this book but I don’t know where it falls on my ranking of all her books. Unconditional will forever be my favorite. 2nd favorite of my all time favorite books ever. What was meant to be is second and maybe this one 3rd? And 4th might be always been you? Honestly this is so hard because she is amazing at writing books. Also I called Lucas and Rory from the start!
Only things I wished that were furthermore explained. I wanted to see how they got to their first kiss?? We know Theo kissed her but how? Why!? And I really wanted to see their FIRST 🍑 time because they kept mentioning it!! Lastly I wanted to see the confrontation with her dad.

This was okay; it didn't hook me that much, but it was still enjoyable.
I really thought I would see how the relationship would progress, but at the start of the book, they had already done things together. And these secret rendezvouses were given as flashbacks. I would really rather see them in the present than read about what happened in the past. So I'm a bit disappointed about the lack of buildup.
I know this is an age gap, but, maaan, the gap still bothers me (21/45). The 24-year age difference is way toooo much for me. Throw in some mild daddy kink, and I almost DNF. I tried to get past that, but it just wasn't working.
As for the spice, this author really nailed these scenes. They were good and hot—I mean, these two were freaks in the sheets. Hands down with their scenes together.
Then the problem of their sneaking around was wrapped up quickly. Lucas's initial outburst was understandable; who wouldn't anyway? Finding out your dad was sleeping with your best friend? But I think he accepted them so quickly and was quick to get over the hurt and betrayal he felt.
Anyway, this was still an okay read. If readers want to read some forbidden romance, they should go for this book.

I buddy read this with Whit, Taima and Aniya. WE HAVE RETURNED!!! We haven't buddy read in so long. But of course our one and only QB is the one who brings us back together. The Worst Kept Secret is a best friend's father romance and it's all about the secret relationship, forbidden aspect, and the steam is *chef kiss*
I loved this and while the secret aspect of the relationship always makes me nervous (because it'll eventually come out to the light and some people will be pissed), I truly enjoy QB Tyler's novels! They're fun, entertaining, and the guy is always down bad for the heroine so you know me I'm a simple girl I just need that to enjoy a book 10/10 lmao.

Something I always appreciate about QB's heroines is how they aren't afraid to go after what they want. They boldly make their intentions clear, and that not only speeds up the pacing of the book but helps the characters avoid miscommunication. And sometimes the hot dad next door just needs a little push in the right direction!
I really loved all of the side/family characters and their dynamics with Theo/Avery in this one—by the end of the book I felt like I knew them personally.
Overall excellent read! Would highly recommend

This is a classic QB Tyler
It’s got everything you’d expect—insanely hot chemistry, forbidden romance, just the right amount of angst, and of course, the inevitable (but not overdone) third-act breakup. I love everything QB writes, so naturally, I loved this too.
The tie-in with Season of Secrets was a nice touch, adding a little extra layer to the story. That said, Lucas was a bit annoying at times, and for some reason, I just can’t picture Theo as an older man’s name—it’s a total personal hang-up, but it threw me off a little. Regardless, this book delivers exactly what I wanted: spicy, forbidden romance perfection.

Ladies and gentlemen….HER! QB once again has given us a delicious daddy and a fierce heroine for us to obsess over. we have a best friends dad romance AND neighbors!! Avery has had a crush on her best friends dad since moving next door. this was forbidden and delicious. i love how their chemistry just jumped off the pages…these two were so fucking hot i can’t even deal! I also loved the side characters too - we also had another daddy in our midst as well ( Wes🫦🫦)

DNF … hot garbage. It’s ok to write the same stuff over and over if you’re good at it. Timeline and story inconsistencies took me out of this and even the hot scenes couldn’t pull me back in. And I don’t have the patience for another of her grossly desperate FMCs.

q.b. tyler books are the perfect way to pass time…
ever since i read my first book by q.b. tyler i have always downloaded her new releases the second the come out because i know that they may not be my favorite books but they are incredibly entertaining. this book actually had so much potential and i thought it was going to be one of my favorites but it just kind of fizzled out. because of the taboo aspect of this relationship you would expect there to be angst and lots of it but there just wasn’t. i needed a little more umph to the story. it’s great that they knew what they wanted and went for it but some more build up would’ve helped this book greatly.
i think avery and theo were a good couple but it was just very physical, obviously this is a q.b tyler book. i didn’t go in thinking it would be overly emotional but sometimes you need that. i can’t really see how they would last long term especially because the book just ended. like the last chapter is them discussing how they’ll tell avery’s dad and when you go to the next page it skips 10 months and it’s epilogue time???
even though this was a great attention grabber it wasn’t that amazing which was kinda sad. i do however hope that all the mentions of other people weren’t for nothing and that we’ll get books for lucas and reagan! i love a boss x employee romance so i’ll be sat and ready for rae’s and you already know rory and lucas would have the best story because it’s so unexpected. give them to me now.

i think avery and theo were a good couple but it was just very physical, obviously this is a q.b tyler book. i didn’t go in thinking it would be overly emotional but sometimes you need that. i can’t really see how they would last long term especially because the book just ended. like the last chapter is them discussing how they’ll tell avery’s dad and when you go to the next page it skips 10 months and it’s epilogue time???
even though this was a great attention grabber it wasn’t that amazing which was kinda sad. i do however hope that all the mentions of other people weren’t for nothing and that we’ll get books for lucas and reagan! i love a boss x employee romance so i’ll be sat and ready for rae’s and you already know rory and lucas would have the best story because it’s so unexpected. give them to me now.

The Worst Kept Secret is the newest book from QB Tyler and this one is super steamy and fun! This is a best friend’s dad, age gap, forbidden romance and they are neighbors too!
Avery is best friends with Lucas, Lucas has been off-and-on into Avery over the years…but Avery is super into Lucas’ dad Theo. 👀 This had the potential of being a love triangle vibe but it isn’t really at all once the story starts. After Avery’s college graduation party, things start to finally heat up between her and Theo! I did enjoy the sneaking about because they don’t want his kids (that are adults) or her family or any of the neighbors to know they’re hooking up. Both think it won’t lead to more and they can just enjoy the time together but of course we all know how that goes!
Let me start with the obvious, the steam is steamingggg in this read! That was delicious! I will say I wanted a bit more from this couple, What Was Meant to Be is still top tier/my fav from this author so I keep comparing to that couple. We start this read with Avery and Theo already into one another and having shared a kiss in the past, I kind of wish we had more tension or got to see them before they give in or had mutual feelings. Theo is a romantic which was fun to see! If you are here for a fun, age gap, best friend’s dad romance, you aren’t going to be disappointed! I loved how Theo’s daughter is in an age gap relationship herself, and I was kind of obsessed with her and her guy too!

This was so FREAKIN good, QB never disappoints!!

Their chemistry WOW and the sneaking around was soooo good “the ferries wheel scene” 🔥🤌🏼 !!!! They fall hard for each other. I loved this book, I also would love to see a book on Raegan, Wes, Lucas and Rory.

3/5 - SPICYYY age gap with neighbor's dad + dual POV. Avery (FMC) been crushing on Theo the DILF for years; he's her next door neighbor and she's "best friends" with his son (who clearly has a thing for her). But tbh, if was Avery, I'd into Theo as well because the man is FINNNNEEEEE. A former professional athlete of some kind or another, doesn't matter, the man is sexy as hell and I was blushing at the filth coming from this man's mouth the entire book. 10/10 for Theo and the spice was STEAMY and well written.
That being said, book was ultimately kind of a snooze fest. FMC mentions multiple times that she has Daddy issues to Theo, but literally never talks about her Dad. Instead, Theo and Avery's dad have multiple normal neighborly conversations. Nothing is ever mentioned about her dad being a piece of shit. Make it make sense. Also, the author REALLY drops you into the spice immediately chapter 1 which was a lot right away. Like we need some sort of build up lmao.

I really liked it until the third act part, I felt that it was heavily rushed and could have put a bit more emotion on the situation and then it was solve very weirdly rushed. Also, you kinda missed the real connection and you get more physical connection. The smut 10/10 Q.B is so good with it.

This book had literally no story line besides Theo & Avery sneaking around to not get caught. I was bored out of my mind. Thankfully it wasn’t too long or drawn out, that’s the only plus to this book.
