The Cheerleader and The Frat Boy

Luke

On paper, I have everything going for me.

I am a flier on the FVU cheerleading team. I’m getting a degree so I can become a kindergarten teacher. I have amazing friends and the best brothers.

Yet, with men, I am totally inexperienced.

Kisses…yes. Anything else…nope.

A stupid incident lands me in hot water with the president of the Kappa Frat house. Corey Howe is rightly feared across campus. Students and staff members have been expelled for crossing him. He gives me an ultimatum; do whatever he says, or he goes to the Dean and I lose my scholarship.

It’s hardly surprising what I choose.

Spending so much time with a guy who shows his disdain for me should be a nightmare, but the glimpses I see of the person behind the facade draw me in.

I’m in serious trouble…and I think I like it.

Corey

I may have a trust fund, but I hate entitlement.

When I became the president of the Kappa, I swore I would turn it from being an old boy’s club, to a frat where anyone can thrive.

It’s given me a reputation for being an asshole, which I wear like a suit of armor. People don’t bother you if they think you’re going to ruin them.

Luke Green didn’t get the memo.

Instead of ratting him out, I choose an unorthodox approach. Yet despite every chore and task I throw at him, Luke never loses his smile. He does everything with so much enthusiasm I want to throw him over my shoulder and see if he gives the same amount of energy in my bed.

That’s never going to happen…
…until it does.

- cheerleader x frat boy
- grumpy x sunshine
- first times

After TP-ing the wrong frat house after he caught his date hooking up with someone else, Luke finds himself indebted to the frat’s fearsome president, Corey, who thinks he’s an entitled asshole.

Forced to do whatever task Corey requests or be ratted out to the Dean and lose his scholarship, Luke takes every demand in stride and frustrates Corey to no end with his constant smiles and cheerfulness.

When Corey finally learns Luke is nothing like he expected, he succumbs to the crush he begrudgingly has on the bubbly little cheerleader and things get steamy!

Dateless is hands down my favorite book in the Squad Goals series so far, and I loved every hilarious minute of it. Corey was so grumpy and needed Luke’s constant sunshine to balance him out. These two were so precious though 😍😍

Grumpy Frat president, trust fund

V!rgin, Sunshine, poor, cheerleader

I choose this author for my go to for fluffy, fast read, conforting with characters that make you geedy. It didnt disapoint one bit. This book is interesting and the scenes are so cute, they're totally hot.

I love the fact that the president takes a few seconds to judge someone. He perceived a peer as someone he would never want to associate with. But still treated him with respect. He doubts himself when emotions begin to build. When affection and desire come together. He feels confused, until his little cheerleader puts him in his place.

I'd have liked a bit more, more time with friends and family.

I also found it suspicious that he was too poor to go home for the vacations, but that his brothers turned up unannounced.

Other than these details, I totally liked it.

*It borders on kink, but as I don't like kink, it was just perfect.

“I don't want to hurt him, but it's called a crush for a reason”

This is a short and fun story. I laughed a lot with Luke and their friends 😂

Corey is also very sweet, all grumpy on the outside but he melted for Luke.

In this follow up novella, Luke is a cheerleader who toilet papered the wrong Frat house. The leader of that house, Corey makes him come and clean to erase that debt. These guys are so into each other. I love Luke with his adorable babbling and obvious hero worship of Corey. And I adore Corey in his big, grumpy guy, helpless for the cuteness of sweet Luke. It's a very enjoyable story that brings the feels of sweet love. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

Finally my Luke got his story. At the end we see him getting in trouble with Corey (frat guy) and they get an epic love romance. For someone who didn’t want a relationship he saw how amazing Luke is and gave him everything he deserved. Fast paced love romance and me swoon the whole time. These books are amazing and I can’t wait for book 4!

Cute as can be

This series is a sugar high. Sweet as can be, you'll get toothache and its low angst as well, so it's great to read between darker reads. Having just read something really dark, this was a perfect palette cleanser.

Had a good few giggles at the characters' antics, and I love the found family aspect of the main characters, including ones from past books and hopefully future ones too!

Small break (again) in reading my ARCs to read some novellas. Here's Willow Thoams's "Dateless." It's the third book in her Squad Goals series.

I (almost) forgot that "Restless" ended with Corey carrying Luke home (all caveman style) and (hotly) threatening to punish him. I mean, holy wow.

These two were adorable. Luke was all in pretty much from the start (heart-eyes and everything), but it took Corey a bit to get there (nothing a little jealousy didn't fix).

And of course, this one ended with a teaser for "Breathless," featuring Perry. :D Also, the blurb (for now) on Amazon is "Perry has entered the chat." Looooooove that.

If you thought Willow Thomas couldn’t top her last book, think again. ‘Dateless’ is here, and it’s funnier, sexier, and more outrageous than ever. This fast and easy read is perfect for anyone looking to add a bit of humor and spice to their bookshelf.

‘Dateless’ follows the awkward yet endearing journey of a 20-year-old virgin and a sexy frat boy. These two characters have immediate chemistry that’s impossible to ignore. Willow Thomas expertly crafts moments so funny, you’ll find yourself laughing out loud—and possibly even blushing! It’s a charming short story that doesn’t shy away from the raunchy, making it a perfect blend of humor and heat.

Imagine spending an afternoon laughing while indulging in a story that keeps you hooked from start to finish. That’s exactly what ‘Dateless’ offers. The witty banter between the characters is infectious, and the situations they find themselves in are both hilariously awkward and impossibly sexy. This book will undoubtedly put you in a good mood, whether you’re reading it in one sitting or savoring it chapter by chapter.

Willow Thomas has once again proven her knack for blending humor and heat in ‘Dateless.’ This book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a good laugh mixed with a bit of naughtiness. So why wait? Grab your copy of ‘Dateless’ today and experience the hilarity and chemistry for yourself. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

At the end of Restless, we see Luke TP-ing the wrong frat house. Dateless follows Luke and the consequences of his actions.
What can I say about Luke, he is a cutie. feisty, full of energy and knows what he wants to do with his life. Corey president of the Kappa Frat house has a reputation of being a hard ass, unapproachable and a grump. You know what they say opposites attract.
Being just over 100 pages this was a quick read, but it did not skimp on the story. Luke was being punished for a prank gone wrong and whilst he hated what he had to do, he did not hate the man who set the task, quite the opposite he had a major crush. Corey even though he thought Luke was entitled, although I couldn't work out where he got that from, still treated him kindly and secretly lusted after him. It was not until Luke set him straight on a few things that Corey acted on his feelings.
The laugh out loud moments where there thanks to the message exchange between the cheer squad and the one scene with Luke's brothers had me crying with laughter. When Luke and Corey got together sparks fly and you can imagine fireworks going off in the background accompanied by orchestral music.
Past couples make an appearance and it was good to catch up with the whole squad. My favourite part was the epilogue and even that had me sniggering. Roll on Percy's story as that one text from him has me intrigued and I am hoping his HEA is with the one I want it to be.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I’ve been a fan of Willow Thomas for awhile now. I really enjoyed this low-angst, light hearted, steamy insta-love story and thought that it was a good addition to the Squad Goals Series, which is set in the same universe as Willow’s Caught Off Guard Series. Luke is Benny and Tyler’s younger brother. This is the first book that I’ve read from this series and I’m definitely going to read the rest of the series. Corey plays up to his grumpy a*sehole persona as a way of keeping others away but he’s secretly a complete marshmallow, especially where Luke’s concerned.

He makes wrong assumptions about Luke from the get go, but considering how they met I can fully understand why he’d think those things, and he also has trauma from bullying by jocks in high school. Luke is a total sweetheart and I found his nervous rambling adorable. I thought the chemistry between Corey and Luke was off the charts. The epilogue was one of my favourite parts. I’m really looking forward to reading Perry’s book, Breathless next and seeing what sh*t he’s somehow got himself in, as well as more books from Willow Thomas in the future. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

I’m an arc reader. I’m going to be honest. I needed some time to get into the story. It was some time ago I have read the book before this one. I was interested in this story because of the book before this one. The moment between Luke and Corey in that book gived me a kind of enemies to lovers. I think the book was to sweet to my taste. I thought their would be more hate moments between them, because Luke messed with Corey. Corey didn’t know that it wasn’t Luke intention to mess with him. I think it would have be funny if their was more hate from Corey towards him. To me Corey was to soft to Luke. Corey name is used in the book as someone who you don’t wanna mess with and that reason I wanted to read.

Corey and Luke are a nice dynamic duo. I really liked how they thought about each other in the end. Luke finding his true love in his first love was cute to read.
I did read about some piercing Luke thought Corey had, I was interested to know if that was true when they are going to do the deed. I really like their tattoos. Both having the same meaning to them is adorable.

In the end Corey was a good lover, but I would have love to see some revenge move from him towards Luke. The 18+ scenes are great written. Corey treats Luke with care with his first time. Loved to read that.
I love also the epilogue, to read what happens years later with them.

story of Luke and Corey

This is an opposites to lovers romance, featuring Luke and Corey, and is the third book in the Squad Goals series.

Luke is so frigging cute. He is a twenty year old cheerleader in college, has zero experience in the bedroom and is looking for someone special. He gets stood up on a date and finds said date with someone else so decides to TP the guys frat house but unfortunately for him, he TPs the wrong house.

Corey, the Frat President catches Luke and as his penance, Luke must complete various maintenance jobs around the frat. Try as he might, Corey can’t deny he is attracted to Luke and it doesn’t take long for that attraction to turn physical, can I get a heck yeah!

I loved that we get to know these two better, they are both such endearing characters, they truly see each other and I was so happy they get their HEA. This is such a wonderful series and there is another book coming out soon.

I’m going to continue to read Willow Thomas’s back catalogue. I’m loving her writing style.

Things to expect in this MM romance are:
College romance
Cheerleader x Frat boy
Virgin MC
Opposites attract
Grumpy/sunshine
Super funny
All in

I have been waiting for Luke’s story ever since I read Double Take (Book three of Caught Off Guard series) and met his brothers. Seeing him get his own book was a need!

Luke made a mistake at the end of Restless and now he has to pay for it. I was really looking forward to this book - especially as it was teased at the end of the last one - and while I enjoyed it (I needed a low-angst read when this was released) I felt it was lacking something. Corey instantly disliked Luke, for no real reason, and while this was changed quickly I felt this was more to do with his attraction towards Luke than getting to know him and seeing he was wrong. My favorite parts were when Luke taught Corey just how wrong his assumptions were AND when Luke’s brothers turned up (Not really a spoiler as they needed to turn up after finding out their baby brother was dating!). They are a cute couple and I will be re-reading but it is not really grumpy/sunshine. It is 100% a cute low-angst sweet read so while I would have liked more development shown (perhaps like how Lexi and Ryder were shown?) I enjoyed it for what it was and will be reading any and all of Willow’s releases as usual.

I laughed my butt off with this book! That Luke is an absolute hoot and made reading this book so much fun. I think what WASN’T said was just as funny as what was, like, Luke is taking classes to become a kindergarten teacher…think on that for a minute if you read the book. Can you IMAGINE him in a class of five year olds??!!! And what they might go home saying after hanging around with him day in and day out? 🤣 I can, all too easily and it had me laughing hysterically.

Corey on the other hand, was all serious and gruff, relying on his reputation and natural scowl to keep others at bay while inside, he was really just a secret sweetheart. Unfortunately for Corey, what worked on everyone else didn’t even faze Luke. Even after finishing the book, I’m still not sure if he lacked the sense of self preservation around Corey or if he just plain lacked good sense but, either way, it worked out for both of them and I LOVED it!!

If you enjoy humor with your romances, you’ve GOT to check this one out!! 5 stars!!!

Mr. Wrong or Mr. Right

A really sweet and fun story! From the previous books we already knew that Luke is a sweetheart who just wants to find a guy and lose his v-card, but he hasn't had any luck. Some antics after his last broken date put him in the cross hairs of Corey, head of a different fraternity and the strictest guy on campus. Luke has to pay it back to Corey and the frat in any way through some hard labour, which Luke is willing to do and Corey is determined will break him.

We quickly learn that there is more to each man than meets the eye. Corey isn't just needlessly strict and he actually has a fraternity that appreciates him and likes having him around. Corey chooses not to show this to others, but Luke sees it in him pretty quickly. Luke is a ball of sunshine but he has plenty of difficulty in his past and being his sunshiny self is a choice. Corey's prejudices about Luke bring this all to a head in a great way. These two were a good pairing and it was a really fun book watching how they come together!

🌟🌟🌟. DATELESS - Willow Thomas

MM Pairing - Frat House Leader & The Football Cheerleader

When Luke’s date stands him up he is furious. At 20 he feels he should already have relinquished his V- Card. In retaliation he goes to the guys house and teepee’s it (covers it with toilet paper). I never knew that was a thing!!! Turns out it was the wrong house and now he’s in big trouble with the most feared person on campus, Corey Howe, the Fraternity House Leader, the one that Luke teepeed.

Ordered to attend a meeting with Corey, Luke is scared, Corey had another student expelled and a teacher fired for some reason. Luke is here on a scholarship and Corey could have him kicked out too.

However Luke is surprised when Corey shows a different side that he expected. He feels elated when the only ‘punishment’ he gets is to clean the Frat House woodwork and bathrooms, twice a week. Luke has a warm, bubbly personality and draws people to him. He is crushing on Corey a couple of weeks into his cleaning duties. Little does he know that the ‘formidable’ Corey Howe is getting all the feels for ‘his little cheerleader. Luke’s cheerleading friends and football team members all have his back in case Corey hurts Luke.

Luke only has his two brother, Benny and Tyler, who are both a long way from Luke but they video chat twice a week. But they been cancelling a lot recently and Luke is upset. Corey comforts him and they officially become boyfriends.

This is a short, very fluffy college MM romance, no angst or real drama, just a helping of escapism from the reality of 2024. Usually with these young college boy romances, I’m sceptical, cynical even, about the sustainability or longevity of meaningful relationships in the ever after. So I was so happy that ‘Dateless’ has a lovely Epilogue 10 years on.

First, if you haven't read book 1 and 2 from this series, I highly recommend. This book starts where book 2 left off, with Luke owing Corey for teepeeing the Kappas house. Back story is hilarious, hence why book 1 and 2 will help.

Luke didn't mean to teepee the Kappas house. He was supposed to teepee another frat house, but an already bad night became worse for Luke.

Corey is amused by Luke. The cute cheerleader keeps his attention, and he can't help but extend his punishment in order to keep him around.

Attraction is there, but Corey is not looking for more than one night. He knows that Luke is looking for boyfriend material, and he doesn't want Luke to get the wrong impression. When Luke shows up with a date, Corey has to make the decision to let Luke go or be honest with himself and go after Luke.

This book was another cute and hilarious one in the series. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I received an ARC copy and am leaving an honest review.

"Dinosaurs can't understand English." He buries his head into my chest with a sob. "No wonder they were so angry in Jurassic Park."

Thomas is a master of funny banter, lower angst, spicy HEA reads.

Luke is an absolute ray of sunshine with a big dash of emotional baggage and Corey is his grumpy moonbeam with a heart of gold. I'm a sucker for grumpy/sunshine anyway, but these two were just... adorable together.

The Squad Goals series are all pretty quick reads, so the relationship timeline is pretty fast (maybe too fast?) but the characters both main (past, present, and future) and supporting are all SO charming! The found family/friend group vibes are delightful. I just dive in and devour these!

Already so hyped for Petty Perry's HEA in book 4!

Another really cute addition to the Squad Goals series. Luke and Corey are forced together after an unfortunate TP incident on Luke’s part. Despite his best efforts Corey falls for Luke, and Luke is definitely hot for him.

Corey resists for some time and I’m not really sure where his misinformation about Luke comes from, but this keeps things cool at the beginning. I’m glad that didn’t last long, it’s one of my least favorite plot devices.

Willow’s books are nice and quick with very little angst, which is super nice for me. I’m loving the cheerleading squad and what they get up to!

I liked seeing Benny and Tyler again. I was like ‘hey I know those guys!’

I’m super excited to read Perry’s story! I relate most to him so this should be fun!

I love Willow for quick sunshine reads and this one didn’t disappoint, grumpy/sunshine might actually be my favourite trope 🖤

We’ve been left hanging with Luke’s story for a while but I’m so pleased he got his guy at last and didn’t have to kiss any frogs along the way.

Luke and Corey meet when Luke takes revenge on the wrong frat house, Corey has him paying the house back for the incident and quickly finds himself drawn to Luke’s brand of sunshine.

Corey has a pretty scary reputation around campus but that doesn’t seem to put Luke off at all and he soon sees through his tough guy persona and gives him his heart, after setting him straight on a few of his assumptions!

I can’t wait to see what Perry’s story brings us.

Grumpy Sunshine insta love rom com perfection.
In true Willow fashion Dateless gave lol comedy, dynamic found family, and that college boy heat, all in a short and sweet rom com package.
I loved Corey and literally screamed when I realized Luke was Benny and Tyler’s brother (they both have books in the caught off guard series). I’ll admit that I do wish this one was three times as long because I could have sat in that TENSION forever, but as I’ve said before Willow is number one of writing short novella length stories that DELIVER. That emotion, the tension, the heat, the comedy, and the rich characters are never forsaken. Always wonderful. Always left wanting the next installment of this interconnected world.

A fun and cheeky story about another of our energetic cheerleaders. Willow gives us lighthearted fun, sweet and spicy with lots of fun banter.

Luke and Corey are a cute opposites attract pairing. Corey comes across as a grump, but really he’s just an introvert who uses it as a protective shield. Luke on the other hand is a dramatic sweetheart. It provides for some amusing scenarios.

It’s a short and quick read to perk up your day.

I really really liked this book. I love the grumpy sunshine trope and I feel the characters just really represented it. Luke is just an eternal optimist and Corey is the opposite with a cold, frosty exterior and death glare but a gooey inside (now I want Smore's lol)

While I loved the story between the two of them and their ultimately happy every after, I did feel that their story felt really rushed in a lot of places. Parts of this story felt like we were trying to get through it as fast as possible and just get on to the next part and it pulled me out of the story. Definitely not the norm for me when I read Willows books normally!

Even so I really really enjoyed it and I absolutely RIDICULOUSLY excited for Perry's book! It's finally here! Woooooo!
