Really enjoyed this, more so than the first one. In this they could get right to the action without the setup of a series. It started with a so-called simple mission for info that turned nasty fairly quickly. Though there is no rest, since after the team makes it back they learn that a congresswoman was kidnapped and they are rushed in to find info and to get her back at all costs. It is done in the Balkans and that mess so it tries to explain the different factions which is basically impossible but that doesn't slow it down much.

Highly recommended, it's a tad to long but overall it's a really enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to reading more in the series.

This is a synopsis, not a review.

The book opens up with with Murdock and Seal Team 7 in Bosnia waiting to meet a CIA contact at a old monastary.

They run into some trouble when they meet their contact. They take out a group of militia soldiers. One escapes (Jankovich) and warns general Mihajlovic. The general rounds up some troupe and starts to search for the SEALs.
The seals get caught on the beach and getinto a fire fight. An AC 130 saves them. When they get back Murdock gets some heat because they found out he killed one of the guys back in the fight at the church while he was trying to surrender.

Congresswoman Kingston is in Greece and answers some reporters questions about the activity back in Yugoslavia. She is anti seals and wants to shut them down.

The seal team gets assigned to her rescue. They go to Greece? They tag up with a Delta team. They find out about a couple of guys on a boat that are believed to be involved in the Congresswomans abduction. They plan to grab the guys from the boat. The Greek officials spoil the party and also try to board the boat. one of the seals grabs a bad guy and get away.
The police arrest the other seal.

Stepano interrogates one of the bad guys and discovers that the congresswoman is being held in a castle in Albania. The bad guys (MIHAJLOVIC) is wanting to hold her and then have his troops rescue her. meanwhile the Americans will attack a location where they belive her to be. this will expose that Americans are screwing around in their country.

Someone tips off the General that the Americans got a prisoner and interrogated him about the location on the Congresswoman.

They do a HAHO drop on the castle in Albania where the Congresswoman is being held. Doc has chute problems and is carried off course and doesn't land in the lake with everyone else.
The SEALS mount an attack on the castle. The General holes up in the room with all the ladies. He uses the Congresswoman as a human shield. The SEALS bust in the room and kill all the guards. Steponit talks a bunch of junk to the General. This causes the General to shoot Steponit, and the a SEAL shoots the General. Steponit dies. Congresswoman Kingston now loves the Special Forces and promises herself that she will never try to dismantle them again.

The SEALS have to hold the castle for 30 minutes while they wait for the choppers. Enemy reinforcements adobe in some troop carriers. The SEALS fight them off with some RPG's they find. The enemy breaks through the outer walls. As they are beginingh to break through the inner tower they are mowed down from behind by Doc's automatic shotgun. American hornets aruve and so do the Pave Low's to exfil.

Jankovich survived the attack. He decides to quit the army and flee to Greece. Maybe become a U.S. citizen.

The 2nd book and it showed all the suspense and action of the first. The action is well told without seeming over the top and the author goes a long way to show that everything isn't easy for these men.
The author also shows the rivalry that goes one when the SEALs encounter an Army ranger team.

Second in the series done and dusted in a day and a half. Very easy reading gung-ho silliness similar to the first book.
Perfect easy reading for a cold dull day when you've left your brain still asleep in bed. :)

No one does combat like the Navy SEALs. This series pays homage to the brave men of the seals. This is action-packed military fiction.
